  • "This is our 3rd stay at the Anchorage and as with the other times it’s a fantastic place to stay for a week."

The house has a long which was handy as 6 of us in 3 cars meant only one had to park on the street (although it’s a quiet area and had lots of street parking so it’s not an issue). The house is immaculately cleaned for our stay. All three bedrooms have comfy beds and it’s little touches like handwash in the bathrooms that make it feel so welcoming. For entertainment and sights the Anchorage is 5 mins walk to the lovely beach, not far from the Nature Reserve & 15 mins away from Hickory’s (fantastic BBQ) and nearby to the Coop if you need anything! It’s a fantastic quiet comfy place and we’re definitely looking forward to going back next year.

Thank you very much for your feedback. Property Owner

  • "We had a very nice stay here, the beds were very comfortable and when we arrived the house was very clean."

I can see why the house and gardens would be brilliant for dog lovers. The kitchen is well equiped and bathroom towels, dishwasher / washing machine tablets were provided. The house is quite echoey, so if someone got up through the night it might wake light sleepers, which affected some our party. If you wear makeup or blowdry your hair, I'd recommend you bring a mirror for the bedrooms. There were two small mirrors to share between bedrooms, but there are mirrors in the bathrooms. A small annoyance. Rhos on Sea is a lovely quiet area, has great beaches and Llandudno, Conwy were great for a visit too. The area is surrounded by lots of castles and great for walks. I would recommend for a stay.

  • "Lovely house."

All communications and directions excellent. Difficult to access all the TV channels...a small point as we didn't really watch much. Appreciate the pint of milk and Welsh Cakes...tea's sugar etc...nice touch. Got a bit confused with the waste...but these are minor points as the overall stay was just as expected from the information promoted. The printed information booklet about how things in the house work, etc was very thorough, clear and useful. Also a good selection of information about the area, days out, things to do. Nice and close to the seafront, and would strongly recommend this as a place to stay.

The back garden is also huge and secure and great for the pooch. Location in a nice quiet street just a short 10min walk from the town of Rhos on Sea. Ideal location for exploring North Wales and Anglesey. The large bedrooms are super comfy, the 2 bathrooms are very luxurious and modern and the lovely kitchen overlooking the garden has everything you need. Would highly recommend and would not hesitate to return.

The property was spacious, very clean and comfortable. The garden was beautifully kept and the area very quiet. It was a great base for visiting local attractions. Currently work being done on the seafront promenade at Rhos on Sea which when finished I am sure will be a great asset to the area. We would definitely stay at this property again and thanks to Faye for the milk in the fridge and welsh cakes, they were most welcome!

  • "We had a great holiday and the location of the Anchorage made for an ideal base for enjoying the beach and surrounding area."

The house was very comfortable with a superb garden for games with the grandkids and for relaxing in the evenings. The house itself was clean and had everything needed for a multi generational family. The instructions from the owner made use of the facilities very easy. We would definitely return for a future holiday. A minor issue when we arrived was the general waste bin was overflowing so we had to place our black binbags in the green bin throughout our stay and whilst the drier and washer were useful it would have been good to have a downstairs toilet where the washer was located, especially when the kids were asleep upstairs. As previously stated it was a great place to stay and we would recommend it to anyone.

  • "The Anchorage is a wonderful house situated very near to the beach at Rhos-on-Sea."

The house is beautifully decorated throughout. The larger lounge is very comfortable. The smaller lounge is also comfortable with a lovely view of the front garden. Both have a lovely little touch of throws on the settee which made it perfect for cosying up on a September evening. Dining room has a view of and patio doors open up onto a well kept garden. The ‘Welcome’ bubbles were a delightful surprise. The kitchen is well equipped and stocked with lovely little extras such as tea/coffee, hand wash etc that you’re not often provided with in self catering accommodations. The 3 large bedrooms all have a comfortable double bed and it’s a quiet area so we all had a restful nights sleep all 7 nights of our stay. The 2 modern bathrooms were again stocked with a few little windows extras like hand wash. The only comments any of us had (4 adults stayed) was that the only large mirrors were in the bathroom so drying hair, getting ready was a little difficult in the small ones provided sat a top the chest of drawers & the bath towels were a little on the small side. Overall this is a fantastic accommodation and we’d definitely return.

House is on the whole good. A couple of cleaning issues, shaving hairs in bath and dog hairs on throws in lounge. Bath towels small, duvet on king size bed was a king put into a double cover which was not great. Rooms are a good size with high ceilings. Kitchen small in relation and was really lacking in equipment, we actually had to contact the owner who responded quickly and bought new items for us. Garden is a great size and fully enclosed, brilliant for the dog. We would stay there again, so the positives outweighed the few negatives, could just do with some minor tweaks and it would be fabulous! The owner could definitely not be faulted in their communications and response to issues brought to their attention

  • "We arrived at the property and we’re dismayed to find a flimsy dirty entrance porch, we duly unlocked the door but I think if we’d have pushed it, it would have opened anyway,we had a key for the inside doors but the lock was broken, so straight away there were security issues."

The hallway was dirty with rugs which I tripped over the edges on numerous occasions, extremely dangerous. The two sitting rooms and the dining room were ok, but I wouldn’t have rated them 4 star. The kitchen was an absolute disgrace, the floor was disgusting the side of the fridge was covered in cobwebs, I don’t think the cupboards had ever been cleaned and the breadbin had paper towel in the bottom that looked to have been there for months. There wasn’t enough crockery or cutlery but there were other items that no one would probably ever use. I really felt like I didn’t want to touch anything. On to the upstairs, the stair carpet needed a good hoovering, apart from that the bedrooms were fine except there was no chair in any bedroom so we had to bring some from downstairs and there was only one mirror in the whole house, not very good when you’re trying to get ready. The bathrooms were fine but I think that’s because they looked to be quite new, I’m sure they’ll go the same way as the rest of the house, The back garden was really lovely but the rest of the outside looked sadly neglected. I think whoever is paying for the cleaning is being ripped off. The house was in a lovely position and we enjoyed travelling round the area. There were plenty of other issues but these are the ones that spring to mind. I didn’t bother leaving a review in the book that was there because you could see where pages had been ripped out and every review that was there was extremely complimentary. I’m sure we aren’t the only ones who thought the place was dirty.

Thank you for your feedback and for bringing these issues to our attention. We are deeply sorry that our property was not at the level of cleanliness it should be. We will ensure to carry out a deep clean of the property as soon as possible so that others are not left feeling the same way. We were not aware of the shortage of crockery or cutlery-this should not be the case as we have provided enough for the maximum number of guests. We will make sure we check and provide replacements where necessary. We have not received a request for chairs in the bedroom before but we will look to get some put in. We are a relatively new holiday home and so receiving feedback and requests for items enables us to understand the needs of our guests and provide these items going forward. The kitchen items you mentioned in your feedback which people would not use, have all been requested by previous guests. There are 3 mirrors in the property so we apologise that you felt this wasn’t enough for the number of guests in your party. We are a dog friendly holiday home and the rugs in the hallway are to try and prevent any muddy paws from getting onto the rest of the carpets which should hopefully make the rest of the property more comfortable for our guests. However, we will check these over to ensure they are not a safety hazard. Thank you for bringing the broken lock to our attention, we were not aware of this and will look to get it fixed as soon as possible Property Owner

  • "The property was wonderful, well appointed and with lovely well kept gardens."

Unfortunately, our holiday co-incided with an outtage of wifi midway through our stay. This was not resolved, as SKY could not attend before we left, but it did make life difficult as the grandchildren were deprived of their screens and we had a much reduced TV output. With regret (for this is a lovely holiday home), I would advise those with modern SUVs - choose somewhere else or try to find a on road parking space. The driveway is incredibly narrow and a careful inspection of the stone pillars revealed at least one person needed some attention to their paintwork after their stay

There was masses of safe space for our grandchildren, aged 3 yrs and 16months, to play, explore and hide in . Having 2 sitting rooms, plus dining room and large modern kitchen was appreciated by the adults who tag-teamed the care of the children. The cottage is decorated with a light and neutral décor which continues upstairs and allows plenty of natural light into the space.

Continuing through the first floor, you will find a sleek bathroom with a gorgeous free-standing bath and a walk-in shower, perfect for freshening up quickly or even indulging with a long soak.

there are two double bedrooms, making the property a great base for families or couples.

Back on the ground floor, patio doors lead you to the rear garden where you can enjoy your meals alfresco while you relax under the willow tree and your canine companion stretches their legs on the lawn.

Alternatively, you can break away from the group in the morning to enjoy your coffee on the front patio.

For days out while at 14 College Avenue, animal lovers will relish in a day spent at the famous Welsh Mountain Zoo, which rests just a scenic drive from the cottage, or heading in the opposite direction, you can get up-close and personal with the farm animals at the Bodafon Farm Park.
