It is quite secluded but near to all amenities. Can recommend Ffrith beach is visiting with dogs. A lovely walk. the cottage is also an easy drive away from Rhyl, Prestatyn, Ross on Sea and Llandudno. Andy & Andrea (the owners) are very friendly and helpful. Will be back next year

  • "A very comfortable cottage."

The owners have obviously put a lot of thought into what people need in a holiday cottage. Precise directions given as it might be hard to find otherwise. Full instructions given for all appliances. Lovely shower! The location is wonderful if you like being in the countryside and not botherted about being too close to facilites. The nearest are in Dyserth about 4 miles away. We chose mainly on location as we needed to be near Rhyl without being in an urban area. So glad we picked the Lambing shed and hopefully we will return one day.

For the sake of accuracy for future guests, Dyserth is 1 mile away. Two well-stocked food shops plus PO, butchers, cafe, hairdressers, pharmacy, take-aways and pub, all on the High Street, two further very good cafe/restaurant/bars (one also a music venue), and a cafe by the Waterfall Gardens, all on Waterfall Hill a further half mile away. Not being picky, just don't want people to feel the cottage is more isolated than it is, though I agree it feels it, in a good way! Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely time and the owners, who live next door are very nice and friendly."

The Lambing Shed was an excellent and comfy base for a bit of exploring the local area. My only small niggles were the TV channels were mostly glitching and unwatchable. I think we found 3 channels that worked, but on the third or fourth day we realised they had supplied a Netflix account which solved most of this. The only other thing we found was the Dishwasher was sometimes problematic and wouldn’t always turn on, when it did this - we just washed up be hand. For anyone booking the Lambing Shed in the future, they will have a lovely break, we would return without question. Although anyone booking needs to know it is located down some very Welsh single track lanes and at times can result in a long reversing manoeuvre if you are unlucky enough to come head on with another vehicle, so you need to be a competent driver, but it’s worth it.

  • "Our second visit, and the Lambing Shed was very good again !"

Only 2 problems: we couldn't get the dishwasher to work, and the last section of the approach road has deteriorated considerably, and needs a lot of holes filling-in.

I am very sorry that you were unable to operate the dishwasher. We did check this after your departure and found to be working perfectly. I am not sure if you consulted the instruction manual. I do apologise for the state of the road. This was severely damaged in a recent flood. This is an unadopted road and we are the only residents who maintain it. We will be doing repairs in the next few days but have had to wait for a break in the weather as otherwise the fill simply washes away before hardening. I do hope that it did not affect your stay too much and that it won't deter you from returning.  Property Owner

Beautiful location with plenty of paths for dog walking. Lovely cottage - we enjoyed our stay very much. The Owners provided lots of tourist information which was very useful. It was very dark when walking through kitchen to bedrooms with the only light switch being up the steps to the second bedroom. With having an active dog we had to keep the intervening door closed at all times. We did discover the plug-in night light which helped. Would recommend this cottage to friends and family.

  • "Really enjoyed our holiday at the lambing shed and were fortunate With glorious sunny welsh weather!"

The cottage itself is fairly small esp the second bedroom (which suits 2 small children) but has a wonderful patio outside which is private and surrounded by the most beautiful scenery to eat alfresco and relax. The location is quiet and peaceful with lots of areas to explore by car & lovely walks from the doorstep. We didn’t feel the properly was 5 star in our opinion for a couple of reasons, 1. It wasn’t as clean as we would expect & basic supplies were limited ie 3 dishwasher tabs, tiny bin, no washing up liquid or toiletries 2. It lacks that high quality finish. Furniture is cheap & cheerful, sofa uncomfortable & Soft furnishings basic. We didn’t find it particularly comfortable or cosy and it lacks that comfortable luxury feel compared to most 5 star properties we’ve stayed (this could easily be rectified with abit of tlc & updating). This is possible down to Sykes and there rating standards not being particularly well benchmarked across there cottages. Overall we enjoyed our stay and were out most days visiting local beaches & sights. The owners were lovely & welcoming & the cottage itself and surroundings are fabulous. We would be happy to visit again in the summer and use as a bolt-hole for visiting north wales if the price was right.

Our cottage was clearly not to our customer's taste but I have already responded to the complaint about cleanliness and shortage of supplies, to apologise, as this is clearly not acceptable. We have had a word with our cleaner and will ensure this does not happen again. But some matters we cannot do much about, eg the tiny bin. It is small but fits in the under-sink cupboard. We did consider the alternative of a bin which stands in the kitchen but did not choose this option as it would block cupboards. I am grateful for the feedback however as it enables us to address the shortcomings. Property Owner

Felt the garden needed a bit of TLC. The outside picture of the patio area needs updating as I booked on the description of patio overlooking a lovely meadow, not possible as a hedge is there now. But this did not spoil our holiday.

I am grateful for this feedback. The garden did need a bit of TLC but we had been away for 5 weeks and returned at the end of this customer's stay, when we were able to remedy matters. And yes the beech hedge has grown but we do keep it at a level which allows customers to see over but prevents dogs jumping out. We will provide more up to date photos to ensure customers are aware of the conditions now. Property Owner

Pictures don't really do it justice - it's much bigger than it looks and the facilities and provisions far exceeded anywhere we've stayed before. Large outdoor area for playing, eating and entertaining guests in a very peaceful setting. Owners popped over once to check everything was Ok and made us feel at home. They're just across the road, but you wouldn't know it as the cottage and most of the rooms/patio area are to the rear, making it feel very private. So we report to the landlord on the 1st dat of our stay regarding the wi-fi he try to fixed by himself but it never work and the shower happen on the 3rd day we reported and he try to fix it by himself and yeah he find out the issue order the part and on our 5th day he came to replace the part. So its like we understand things happen but in our opinion go and aak some expert's to come and fix it for you. They even offered us to go to the main house to have showers but we didn t feel comfortable to do that. We had our landlord around a lot of times. But the cottage and the location was lovely.

  • "This is an amazing property, the photos do not do it justice!"

Very quiet location, but owners on hand nearby if you need them. The cottage had everything we needed, very well equipped and we even learned how to play chess (badly). The kids loved seeing the sheep and horses in the fields every day, and the patio was lovely to sit out on with a glass of wine in the evenings or a coffee in the morning. The log burner was great to watch on the cooler evenings, but we were reasonably lucky with the weather for the week we stayed. Lots of attractions within short driving distance. We definitely recommend this property for couples of families who just want to get away from it all.

!ent but having paid a lot of money for it, we were very disappointed with the television picture. At times it was completely unwatchable and kept breaking up, especially for the England football game. I think the owners should sort this.

  • "Could not have wished for better."

The accommodation was spotlessly clean, all the rooms were well decorated and comfortable, the shower room was excellent and you are provided with lots of towels. Everything you need is in the kitchen including plenty of dishes and cutlery. There is an iron, ironing board and hairdryer, loads of DVD's to suit all tastes and games, crayons etc The WiFi is not very good and we were unable to get a connection while there but that was not really an issue The accommodation is far enough away from the hustle and bustle of resort life and close enough to all the attractions not only within the local area but beyond depending on how far you wish to travel The only sound you hear is the occasional snort of the horses in the field opposite, the bleating of the sheep in the field behind the patio and the birds. The patio is a sun trap and weather permitting you could bask all day if you wanted. I would deffinatley recommended a stay at the Lambing Shed and will be going back Well done the owners 20/10 excellent

The cottage and facilities description were accurate, which had enabled us to select this property to meet our needs, mainly walking and somewhere to totally relax on an evening. The cottage was immaculately clean, with everything you could require for a week away from home. The location was quiet, with the patio area secure to enable our dog the freedom to go outside when he felt the need. Prestatyn and Rhyl are only 4 miles away(with excellent clean beaches to walk the dog), and Snowdon less than an hours drive. We collected a free walkers guide for the area from the tourist information in Rhyl, which detailed numerous walks around the area. I cannot recommend the Lambing shed enough, and we will certainly be returning next year.
