• "The owner had thought of everything to ensure your comfort."

  A really lovely lady. The accommodation is in a quiet country lane on a big farm. The lounge looks out onto fields with sheep to watch. Very quiet and only a few miles from a large supermarket with everything you might need - food petrol and they have a small cafe. All on one floor, no stairs, all very clean and-well presented. Perfect.

  Clean tidy . Everything you may need was there. Exceptional space . New and modern design . I must say that this has been the best spacious cottage we have stayed in . Patio doors opening to a beautiful view . Although it's close to the road we found it to be fairly quiet . We enjoyed our stay very much.

  ). A lovely location for relaxing, the accommodation is really comfortable, with everything you would need for a perfect holiday. Plenty of places nearby if you want to explore, but we like to just relax and enjoy the lovely scenery. Thank you for a lovely stay.

• "Wonderful holiday cottage."

  Beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Well equiped kitchen with everything you need. The bed was so comfortable. Large bathroom with a huge bath and a really great shower. Only very small negative was that we couldn't sit out on the terrace because of the smoke from the chimney in one of the farm sheds but other than that it was perfect. It is a working farm at the end of the day.

• "A lovely cottage, well situated for exploring York, Harrogate, Ripon, Ilkley, Ottley, Wetherby, and so on."

  It is very spacious, equipped with everything we could possibly need, with commanding views to the countryside. We did have a little concern before arriving that it might be cold inside this time of year with the temperature dropping as it is, but, this was misplaced - it was stifling on entry, and we had to turn the heating down! After a little while it was just right, and stayed like it all week, very pleasant indeed. Thermostatic valves on all the (numerous) radiators made it very controllable, and I think even in sub-zero temperatures it would be lovely and comfortable. We will certainly stay here again when holidaying in this area next, highly recommended.

• "We have just spent a lovely week at this beautiful cottage, having stayed at The Granary three years ago."

  The cottage is 5* throughout, the bathroom is amazing and the kitchen is equipped with all equipment you could wish for and more besides. Pat and Duke are very accommodating and always around should you need anything. The views from the patio are fantastic, we saw Red Kites very close to the property. A definite must for eating out is the Shoulder of Mutton at nearby Kirkby Overblow. The service is very good and the staff are friendly and helpful, happy to discuss the menu and have a chat. Ripley and Knaresborough are definitely worth a visit. You will not be disappointed with this cottage and will enjoy every minute of your stay. Quiet and peaceful, this is a great place to relax and unwind.

• "The property is fabulous."

  I only marked down the comfort because the bed was two singles pushed together. It was a very comfortable mattress. But having a cuddle had to be one side or the other. As uf you met in the middle the bed halves made a creaking sound. Oops. Lol. But honestly we will return as the whole experience was so relaxing and the attention to detail was really exceptional. Thank you.

• "We have had many cottages over the years and this one I would rate on the top end."

  From opening the door we was well happy on a miserable day we walked into a very warm cottage.The week just got better and I can honestly say there was nothing that we could think of that would improve it.The views were great ,inside spotless and all the equipment in good order. We have just booked one of the other cottages(not that we don’t like this one) but just in case it isn’t available and we can still come here again.

• "Staying a this cottage was like staying in a 5 star hotel."

  The owners have provided literally everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Even when the main water supply in the area was cut off, they took the trouble to provide every visitor with a 5 litre bottle of water so that they could at least make hot drinks. Other reviews have said that it was the best cottage they have ever stayed in and we would wholeheartedly agree. Thank you Pat and Duke for a lovely holiday. Rita and Arthur.

• "Having stayed at the Hayloft the previous year we were looking forward to the "new" Oak View Cottage."

  We were not disappointed, great standard again with the modern twist. Quality throughout, a lovely, relaxing break. View from the spacious patio was top notch, very entertaining cows and sheep.Views towards Spofforth amazing with great sunsets. Hosts available, if needed, which is always nice to know. Good location for getting around the Dales as well. All in all first class.

  The owner had thought of everything. The bed was probably the most comfortable we have ever slept in,wish we could have taken it home with us! A good base for exploring places like Knaresborough (which we loved) Thirsk, Grassington, Pately Bridge and of course York. In truth we ran out of time but hope to visit again in the near future.

The facilities in the cottage were first class, and there was everything available you may need. The cottage was warm welcoming and cosy, and the views from the lounge were wonderful.
