• "No tea towel, welcome basket could have had local produce instead of things you can get from any supermarket in the country, cooker hood covered in grease, no cushions fo outdoor furniture but you couldn't use the table and chairs as they were covered in green mould!"

  ! No local information like shops ,walks bus stops etc, dust and cobwebs round lights and radiator s, no hooks on doors to hang wet dowels or dressing gowns, pillow cases too small for pillows . Certainly not a sykes 5 tick property, very poor and I have stayed in many sykes cottages

  I am very sorry to hear about the dissatisfaction with your stay at Misty Moon. We take a lot of pride in keeping the property to a 5 tick standard, as you'll be able to see which reflects in pretty much every other comment/ feedback that we have received. Everything you have stated has been noted of/ heard and we will keep an extra eye on the areas that you've specified to ensure that our high standards remain. I must say however that tea towels are always located in one of the 4 kitchen drawers and that the welcome pack information does include the phone numbers and addresses of multiple grocery stores in the 'local amenities' section, plus below that section a variety of phone numbers and addresses for different types of local Takeaway/ Restaurant places ranging from 'Takeaway Fish and Chips' to 'Indian/Thai Restaurant Takeaways' alongside 'Chinese Restaurant Takeaways' and Pizza Takeaways.' With that said, we appreciate all feedback as it allows us the opportunity to improve so thank you for making us aware of any/ all concerns. Property Owner

• "An amazing house with everything you need in a perfect location."

  Close enough to walk into town (20-30 mins) but also far enough away from all the crowds. Bus stop to town on the street opposite. Misty Moon is very well equipped and perfect for relaxing after a busy day. Would definitely recommend Misty Moon to others.

  All well maintained, including smashing, safely enclosed garden. Easy walk to close by Lidl & Spar. Small children's play area a couple of hundred yards up the street. We definitely made the right choice to plum for this lovely house with the benefit of good parking facility and walk into town, rather than picking more central but without the benefits of parking or garden. Lots of thoughtful touches within the house (coffee maker, a few dishwasher & washing machine tablets) all which added to the convenience of the experience. A dog gate at the bottom of the stairs would be a useful addition, but we managed fine to block the route for our old boy with a dining chair and our cool box

  Not really dog friendly, dogs not on furniture and not upstairs. My dogs follow me every where , needs a stair gate if you don’t want them upstairs !!

  Lovely house, we have stayed here a few years ago and the house is just as lovely as last time Garden is just the right size to sit out in and although over looked by the other houses it was nice and quiet We like this house as it’s a nice leisurely walk into Whitby either along the westcliffe, or through the estate and down into town, so you can park your car at the house and not need it for Whitby Would definitely recommend it to families and couples and a plus our dog could stay too

  A soft broom for sweeping the floor would have been handy. Also, the plumbing under the sink was leaking slightly. Generally a brilliant property. Everything possible (except broom) was included. Would stay again. Good position for Whitby and North York Moors.

• "A very comfortable well furnished house, with lovely soft furnishings."

  A well equipped kitchen (only 3 tea plates) Good quality bed linen and towels. A good enclosed garden with plenty of seating .As stated by other guest the doormat outside the patio door needs replacing. It was wet and disintegrating and walking on it took wet prints into the living area. I moved the mat to one side. Good information booklet about the house and the area. An excellent location for a stay in Whitby. Would certainly recommend.

  Parking was a big bonus and steady 25 mins walk to town. Property cleanliness generally good but bathroom had a lot of black mould around the shower screen and surround. Perfect garden for the dog, enjoyed the welcome pack.

  Excellent location for travelling around. Welcome pack and other items very much appreciated. Good area, parking in front of house great. Slept well as very quiet. Lovely enclosed garden for dig and lovely garden furniture. I’m sorry to say the bathrooms could have done with a through clean, daughter dropped soap on main bathroom floor and picked up covered in hairs. Bath had hairs and Under shower screen not clean. Bit disappointing and off putting. Once we gave it a clean no other issues.

• "The toilet seat in the upstairs bathroom was “moving around” when we arrived."

  It needs fixing in place. The main bedroom large window on the left was impossible to let air in on the left hand side. The right hand side was fine. Everything else was top notch! We were really pleased with everything, the owners had obviously made an awful lot of effort to make things as perfect as possible. We stripped the bedding and put it in the black bags, but had none left to put the towels in , some were put in the washing machine for cleaning, and the rest were put in the bathtub. No complaints at all. We would come again next year.

  Lovely co-ordinating accessories in every room. It is obvious it has been furnished with specifically purchased items - not just any old cushions/plates/furniture. The welcome basket was the nicest I have ever found in holiday properties and very well received. The beds were comfy, as were the settees. I would definitely recommend this property - thank you!

  Spotlessly clean, really comfortable and very well equipped. In a very peaceful location on the edge of Whitby. About a 30 minute downhill walk into town with a bus stop about 500 yards away (useful for the uphill return). We would definitely stay again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Thank you.

• "What a lovely house, everything you could wish for on a self catering holiday."

  Beautifully clean and well decorated and furnished. Super comfy beds with lovely linen . We took kitchen cleaner & washing up liquid but it was all provided. The welcome pack is a thoughtful touch even dog biscuits- thank you . We walked into Whitby every day so no need to worry about parking- we preferred the West Cliff walk but found other routes to vary our walks. Had a great week & we were all sad to leave .   A real bonus was the driveway parking. A nice touch was the full length mirror in the main bedroom and the welcome basket. House is in a quiet neighbourhood. We give it 10 out of 10. We walked in to Whitby which took about 25 minutes but there is a park and ride service and ordinary bus service. There is a Lidl supermarket within walking distance. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

• "This new build holiday home is superb, it offers a very high standard through out and is situated on an attractive, quiet housing development (currently still in progress)."

  It’s hard to find fault but if I were to be super picky I would say that the kitchen knives (including the veg peeler) are not sharp, the dining table is cramped and the seats at either end don’t really work because you can’t get your legs under the table. The house is also bit of a trek from the town centre but we knew that in advance so it’s not really a complaint!

  The house was lovely clean and tidy, welcome pack is a lovely touch Tastefully decorated throughout, made to feel like a home from home whilst you’re away The rear garden is very safe for children and dogs, couldn’t get the outside light to work so not sure if bulb needs sorting 20-30 mins walk into Whitby, lovely scenic walk if you walk via the West Cliffs to town, as parking is a premium in Whitby, this house is ideally situated if you don’t mind a walk with 2 parking spaces no plenty on street space as well I would definitely recommend this house to anyone with family or a group of friends

  It was perfect for our toddler and Spaniel. Location was amazing! 5 minutes drive from the beach which was stunning, and 5 minutes drive from the town (everywhere is super dog friendly too!). The house was so clean and felt like new, very well kept. Garden is gorgeous and perfect for family and pets. We will certainly book to stay at Misty Moon again.

• "Standard of the furnishings and decor was excellent, was immaculately clean and homely."

  The little welcome pack was a nice touch and very thoughtful. Garden would be fab in better weather. Only downside was that some of the radiators didn't seem to work so was really warm in some rooms and cold in others, dont know if previous guests had turned them off but we struggled with the thermostats a bit. To be fair this was a minor issue and our only gripe. We are regular visitors to Whitby and would certainly stay again, I highly recommend thank you.

  Misty moon is very well equipped, very clean, the beds were exceptionally comfortable, the garden would be very nice to sit in weather permitting. The only problem we had was that the radiator in the living are did not got hot, but the rest of the house did. All in all another gold star ⭐️ for SykesCottages

• "Nice new build only open a month when we went in September , good quality fixtures and fittings, quality beds etc, secure enclosed rear garden with again quality furniture and very relaxing and quite plenty parking nice welcome pack on arrival wine chocolate milk coffee crisps biscuits etc , 15min walk to the White House Pub on the west cliff which is probably the nearest that does food ( expensive)15 min walk to Whitby centre, would definitely recommend Misty Moon for a vacation in Whitby."
