The property has everything you need for your stay and is furnished to a high standard. A very spacious conservatory which I spent relaxing after long coastal walks. Ideally situated for walks in to Staithes or Runswick bay. Thank you so much for the wine and biscuits. I will certainly be back soon.

  • "We really loved out stay here."

The cottage is in a super location and provides a great base itself to explore the coastline. The cottage itself is lovely and very well equipped. Only 2 minor points would be the main bed isn't the comfiest and that there is a 'dog smell' in the lounge downstairs. We were aware that dogs are allowed into the property, but as non-dog owners ourselves we perhaps noticed the smell more. That said, we had a brilliant stay and loved the cottage and we would happily return again.

Had a great relaxing week away, visiting nearby coastal villages. The conservatory was great for relaxing in, our dog loved it. The parking space was great and the patio area was nice if only the weather had been, so we could have used it.

Because there was a 2 year old in our group she advised she would ensure there was a child’s bath available which was perfect and loved by my granddaughter. This was our second visit to Barn Cottage and hopefully won’t be the last. The cottage and location are both perfect.

Hi Carol, thankyou so much for taking the time to leave a review. Your kind words are very much appreciated. I'm so glad you all love the cottage, and the new baby bath was a hit. Thanks again Jacky X Property Owner

We had a wonderful holiday. We did miss a hose pipe to wash our doggie down properly but obviously very minor! ( there is an outdoor tap) Would highly recommend

  • "We could not use conservatory door due to the lock not working."

We did report it to the owner and it appears to be an on going problem. We noticed that a valve cover was missing by front door which could be a problem if a child fell on it. The standard of bedding in main bedroom was poor and stained, we also mentioned this to owner. These faults above did not spoil our holiday we loved the place and location. I just feel it would help future occupants.

Thank you for your valued feedback. I am sure that you would agree that when we spoke I was horrified to hear about marks on the sheets. I did offer, to the point of insistance, that we change them straight away, however, I was told that there was absolutely no need to, and it wasnt a problem. We have NEVER had any reports of ANY marks on the sheets at any other time. The conservatory door is a problem in hot weather due to it being south facing. The internal doors do however secure the property, and the conservatory door does lock once the full heat of the day has reduced. We are tyring our very best to get this resolved ASAP. New bedding has arrived to replace any older sets. Property Owner

  • "What a find!"

Stayed here a couple of weeks ago for a week of switch off and relaxing with my husband and dog, and Barn Cottage was perfect! Such a cosy home from home, perfect after cold dog walks to come back and get snug in front of a film. Kitchen very well equipped, and all communication from Jackie was lovely and very quick. Walking distance to 2 pubs, 15 min walk to the coastal path where you can do a loop back to Hinderwell. Would highly recommend Saltburn for a walk down the beach and chips on the sea (best fish & chips we’ve had in a long time). Whitby was only 10/15 mins to drive to, lots of lovely little shops and a harbour, very dog friendly. Have already told all our friends and family about it! Will absolutely be back in the future. Thank you for such a wonderful week.

  • "Jackie's barn conversion cottage' is exceptional."

A home from home in every aspect. From outside the property you sense an overwhelming feeling of peacefulness. On entry your greeted with a sense of home comfort and luxury. The home as everything you could possibly need. I just had my Xmas and new year holiday here and I have never been more comfortable and happier with location and the overwhelming joy of a gorgeous home that suits everyone in your group. I took my best friend and my folks and we have had the best time here. No issues whatsoever because all your needs are met with this stunning home. The owner Jackie is just a phone call or text away and responsive immediately should you need her. Housekeeping is excellent! The whole home is snug and warm when heating is on you have no worries of ever feeling a chill. The beds are so comfy you drift off to sleep so quickly.. never do you hear anything that could disturb you here. Peace and quite is at its absolute best. the conservatory is massive!! My favourite part of the house where I can sit in peace with a cuppa tea enjoying a book or just peacefuness. The view of the hills from the conservatory are just mesmerising.. in the evenings in the garden your met with a lovely darkness .. just look up! The dark sky filled with all the stars you feel like your in space and surrounded by the stars!your met with a feeling so content at Jackie's home you want to leave! I've been home 2 days and I have already rebooked to return in March for another 2 weeks because of how stunning the home and location is.. it's captivating! Hinderwell is a sleepy quite peaceful village. And a stone throw to to your left is the gorgeous coastal village of staithes. A must visit for everyone. Especially the Cod and lobster the food is out of this world. Recommend you book a table as it can get busy due to the top rated location and the food. To your right of hinderwell is The pub The Brown Cow which is less than 100 metres to your right up the small beautiful lane the home is located at is the best pub I have found in the UK because the landlord Mark is just a wonderful gentleman who is so down to earth with his humerus charm and great atmosphere you'll enjoy the cask ales in this free house pub. Continue on and you'll come to Runswick bay another stunning location beach here is just incredible! And the views down to its beach and surrounding cliffs are breathtaking. The little village of hinderwell has a lovely little butchers where you can buy fresh meats aswell as other groceries.. but if you walk upto staithes you'll come across a co-op on the side of road. It has everything!! And a cash machine outfront. Ofc you can get a bus! To Whitby or anywhere tbh. You won't need your car to get around. The bus service is excellent! And the busses are frequent. I would highly recommend Jackie's home to everyone. It's in a perfect location with everything you could possibly need all around you. I'm so excited to be returning in March. Thank You immensely Jackie. I look forward to my return to your stunning home from home.

A perfect, peaceful haven for a good book and G&T. Dog friendly and the completely enclosed patio garden ensured our dog could roam freely and safely. • "Nice, well presented cottage in a pretty village Close to lots of beautiful destinations such as Runswick bay and sandsend."

Having one bathroom between 5 people was a struggle at times , and we found the beds incredibly uncomfortable (the pillows definitely needed replacing). Also, due to the fact that the house is in the heart of a village and next to the entrance of a campsite, it was a little noisy at times ( dogs barking, car alarms, general noise of people walking up and down). It’s also worth noting that the cottage is a semi detached property with a young family living right next door, so if you are after peace and quiet this probably isn’t the place for you. We wouldn’t return to the same property again for the above reasons.
