  • "Holly Lodge was a lovely cosy lodge with everything you need."

It’s quiet with beautiful views towards the coast and countryside and dog friendly with lovely walks nearby. The only niggle was that the internet although advertised as limited was actually nonexistent. We were given the details to log on but however hard we tried the network was not found. However this did not in any way detract from the overall visit. Close to the moors and the sea we would not hesitate to stay there again and would throughly recommend

  • "Very pleased with the chalet, comfortable seating in the lounge area which, being older we really appreciated."

Easy access ramp ideal for anyone who struggles with steps. Beautiful views over the surrounding countryside, all in all very happy with our accomodation.

  • "Lovely stay at Holly Lodge and would definitely recommend the property."

Only thing missing was a teapot! and we had a good laugh with owner Christine about this, and which she had been prompt to rectify! The chalet is in a lovely location, nice views over open farmland and distant views to the sea, and is very comfortable and quiet. Christine and Steve are very friendly, and are happy to pass on useful information about the local area and events that are on. Easy drive into Whitby, and Saltburn is a lovely spot and in easy reach and nearby. Certainly intend to visit again.

  • "The property was clean, comfortable and well equipped."

The accommodation does NOT have any Wi-Fi that any of us could connect to and with teenagers this was one of the key elements I was looking for - to say it has Wi-Fi in description is untrue - I did text the Owner to ask about situation but did not receive a reply

  • "Property very cosy and warm."

Site very clean and tidy. WiFi very poor and often dropped out but this was pointed out in the property details. A lady called Christine called on second day to explain a few things and places to visit but an introduction sheet with local shops/doctor/etc listed on it would have been very useful. Bathroom needs updating but Christine said this was in the pipeline to be done in near future. No welcoming provisions left for quests as in many of the places we have stayed with Sykes.

  • "Really enjoyed our stay at Holly lodge."

.it was very quiet and peaceful, but within east reach of shops and facilities..a short drive in the car took in lovely walks and beaches ..and a bit further afield larger towns if required. The lodge itself was very comfortable and everything was provided. We thought it very pretty inside and felt very homely and clean. Our phone signal was good (on o2 and 3) should that be important to you with a fast 4g signal. Despite the fact it was pretty cold out with winds over 30 mph the lodge was very warm as well.. I would certainly recommend a stay there

  • "Nice and peaceful, tucked away on a small site."

  • "The lodge was very nice but unlike all of our other Sykes holidays I feel that the welcome wasn't as great on this occasion."

I realise that we are living in strange times just now but there was nothing at all in the lodge to make us feel special. No little touches that make such a big difference to your stay ie bottle of wine, eggs, bread etc. There wasn't even any condiments. Nor was there any information about attractions in the locality. Someone called Christine from the site did give us a little talk about the locality though which was fairly helpful. That would be my only criticism
