  • "The flat was both convenient and comfortable, ideal for our stay."

Although it’s near the centre of town, it was quiet as it’s tucked away. The neighbours were very friendly. Parking could be a bit of a lottery, but it always worked out. We love visiting Berwick and return each year. The weather was cooler than we expected but never hampered us from carrying out our plans for the day. We enjoyed a visit to Holy Island, the first for many years, plus as always, walks in the Cheviots and around town. We hope to return next year. Many thanks for the use of the flat, we really enjoyed our stay.

We are delighted you enjoyed your stay in our cost flat. We look forward to welcoming you back soon. Chris and Jo Property Owner

  • "We have just returned from holiday."

60b Castlgate was fantastic for us. It was in a very good location a short walk to the main streets and the railway station, and a short drive to Morrisons and Tesco (a reasonable walk if you are younger than us;). You were within walking distance of lots off the places of interest in Berwick. And, if you did not wish to drive, there were buses and trains aplenty. Berwick has lots of nice and reasonably priced eateries. The flat was clean and quiet and comfortable and it had everything we needed for a lovely holiday. Information re heating and cooking facilities was provided and useful. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would visit again. Thank you.

  • "A very cosy little flat that was ideally placed close to the railway station for my arrival and only a short walk from the centre of town."

Although the metal stairway up to the flat was a bit of a trial for moving a heavy suitcase I was clearly aware of this before I booked. Inside, everything was as described with the addition of a little welcome basket of goodies. As we did have a few days when the weather was a bit cool it was nice to be able to turn on the heating to warm us up. If the weather had been worse there were plenty of books and games available to distract you whist you had to remain indoors. The only confusion arose when trying to work out the day for putting out rubbish for collection. A chart on the wall of the kitchen says that the day is Tuesday and then highlights all the Wednesdays. The welcome book mentions the need to put the rubbish bin out for the collection but did not say where to put it. Happily one of the very helpful neighbours sorted this all out for me, but it might be worthwhile clearing this up in the information pack. All in all a very nice stay, many thanks.

Hello Stephen, Thank you for your kind review. Regarding the rubbish chart in the kitchen we will check the correct day with the council and make sure information in the guest guide is corresponding. Thank you for pointing that out. We look forward to welcoming you back to Berwick Upon Tweed for another visit.. Kind Regards, Jo and Chris Property Owner

Perfect base for us just off the main street in the town centre. Love Berwick and all it has to offer, it's a picturesque town full of history. Had lovely walks with Barney our border terrier, ate out each night, visited the local pubs, shops and ventured out to Eyemouth. The parking was easy with the permit and thank you very much for the welcome basket. Would recommend and would book again.

  • "This is a great place to stay if you want somewhere central in Berwick on Tweed."

It is really quiet as it’s tucked away but so close to the town centre. It is very well equipped and very clean. The bed was very comfortable and the black out blinds very much appreciated. Parking was easy with the parking permit and the property is ideally placed for using the train. There are lovely places to walk and the train journey to Edinburgh was ideal. The welcome basket was a lovely touch.

  • "Our car died last minute."

I had to then book a train to Berwick upon Tweed. I had no choice. Also, I had no idea at the time. The distance between this cottage. And the railway station. It could of potentially have been 4 miles away. Unbelievably, it was 4 minutes away. Believe me folks, you don't have to bring anything. Everything you need, is in this cottage. Even a complimentary bottle of wine, and chocolates. So relaxed, and laid back. The weather was was terrible. Never stopped raining. 24 hrs a day..but, we had everything, to keep us occupied. . If we had been camping. Or caravanning. We would have gone straight home. Love this cottage. Will definitely be back xx

Thank you so much for your lovely review, we are really happy that you enjoyed your stay . We look forward to welcoming you back soon! All the very best, cheers Jo and Chris Property Owner
