  • "Although the cottage was comfortable and clean it looked very tired in places."

    The external grounds were not at all as depicted in the photos. The lawns were unmown, weeds over the paved areas, hedges uncut and generally unkempt. There was no BBQ as listed and no separate area with the swings.

  • "Lovely cottage very comfortable and we did enjoy our week also very close and easily accessible to get around places of interest but we did notice that there should have been a bigger garden with Wendy house and swings for younger children and didn't exist, fortunately for us we didn't need them but could imagine families with young children would have been very upset also the details stated a tumble dryer but there wasn't one."

    I do think you should check the details of the property for other people but saying that we had a lovely stay

The Lake Cottage is a superb, detached cottage within the grounds of Middleton Hall, close to the village of Belford in the heart of the Northumberland countryside.

This Belford cottage has an open-plan living area with warming woodburning stove and French doors that lead to the patio area, perfect for alfresco meals in the Northumberland summer.

There are three lovely bedrooms on offer, all of which are on the ground floor, and one even has an en-suite shower room.

This Belford cottage has its own enclosed, private garden with sand pit, Wendy House, slide and swing where children can let off steam.

Alternatively, both children and adults will enjoy the environment of Middleton Hall, with two lakes and the opportunity to spot wildlife including deer and red squirrels amongst 30 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds and woodland.
