"We had a fantastic week in this lovely bungalow."
The rooms are huge and welcoming. The lounge was very warm when the log burner was lit and it was a great treat for us especially as the mist and fog rolled in. As advertised the WiFi and phone signal is poor but we managed without it. We did end up using the dishwasher twice a day as there were 8 settings for crockery and cutlery..again not a problem if we remembered to switch it on. Beautiful surrounding area, great walks and very few people to be seen ..just ideal

"The accomodation was fine apart from the lack of internet which the details stated that it had."
The internet was virtually non existent and had I known this on looking to book a property then I would have looked elsewhere. The TV that is described as a Smart TV needs internet to act as such. Bearing in mind that the evenings were drawing in and weather turned out to be crap, then it spoiled our week away. I couldnt even use my laptop to browse or our phones as there was also poor phone signal. The landlady tried her best but you cant recify what isnt there. On arriving home I spoke to Sykes Cottages but they were no help and just stopped replying to me. My advice to them and to the owner either improve the internet or explain the facts on the site. As it stands it is blatant misrepresentation of the facts. Anybody considering booking this property and needs internet access then dont. Book somewhere else but if its through Sykes Cottages dont expect any help or redress from them. My advice is use another company

"Very comfortable, clean and spacious bungalow but interior could be updated."
It was very useful to have the utility room to enter where you can take off your shoes and coats. We found it very quiet by the bungalow although there are probably busy times on the working farm when there may be more tractors and cars using the farm lane. The garden was not fully enclosed, something which could easily be remedied by a gate at the end of the drive. There were walks for our dog from the door. We loved this part of the country. Places to visit Rudyard Lake near Leek with its miniature railway, Macclesfield Forest and our favourite the Goyt Valley near Buxton.

"An amazing bungalow to stay in, huge rooms, brilliant area very comfortable would highly recommend very central for the area lots of lovely pubs for meals and very quiet and peaceful."

"Fabulous spacious well equipped cottage with panoramic views from every window."
The hosts were very attentive and always ready to answer any questions or for anything we needed even kindly leaving us biscuits when we arrived. The gardens are well attended with beautiful luscious green grass with plenty of outdoor chairs. The games room provided extra space and entertainment even in wet weather. For our young family being on a working farm was very exciting. Farm tractors up and down the farm Lane, cows, calves and lambs on the fields. It was a dream holiday being in the midst of it all. The cottage is on a little Lane and our children were able to ride their bikes half a mile down to a cattle grid without the worry of traffic. The area is also brilliant with abundance of activities for various different ages, very close to alton towers, less than 10 minutes drive to tittesworth reservoir, a stunning place to do canoeing and paddle boarding, beautiful walks, and so much more. Whilst it is in rural location leek town is just a short drive, and in the quant town of leek you'll find any shop you need. Highly recommend a holiday at this amazing cottage. And my advice is to ignore any negative feedback below, for us being on a working farm is a massive bonus for a family holiday.

"A lovely place to stay, both for the property itself and for the location."
Erica was a helpful host, attentive when needed but also let us be. Definitely recommend this as a great place to stay. One small thing: the listing incorrectly says 1 double, 2 twin, but it is in fact 2 doubles and 1 twin. Owner said she had informed Sykes of this mistake but it hadn't been corrected.

"Great property and location!"
L Everything delivered exactly what we needed to enjoy a relaxing weekend. The rooms were spacious, extremely clean and well equipped. The outside provides a perfect extension to the house and we would have loved to use the bbq and sitting area if the weather had been better. I'm confident in saying "we will be back"!

"Clean comfortable bungalow with everything you could need."
A perfect base for exploring the Potteries, Peak District and more. Stunning views from the picture windows and local walks. It is on a working farm so may not be to everyone's taste but for us the sights and smells of the farm were nostalgic. Missing the calves and lambs already

100% recommend this place.

"This is the worst holiday we have ever had ."
We are 70 and 78 booked it because looks tranquill and after bereavement and daughter in laws stroke was looking forward to meeting our son and his wife for us all to have a quiet time.we were subjected to noise from 5am one morning to late at night just constant noise tractors farm vehicles all day for whole of week .it doesn't mention in sykes listing of next to a very busy noisy intrusive farm no pictures show the farm and the mess is awful rusting farm machinery tractors outside your bedroom window.if we had known all this we wouldn't have booked it. We have all come home spending all that money and as pensioners wanting a peaceful holiday with our son and wife this we did not get just constant noise from morning till night .we are very upset and feel nearly 500 to turn up to that is disgusting and certainly false advertising it should state what to expect.glynis

"We feel this property has been misrepresented."
There is only mention of being adjacent to a farm, and we only learned of this once the key safe details were given. We have stayed close to farms before; however, with three farms working in close proximity, we have never been subject to so much noise, with numerous farm vehicles coming and going from early in the morning to the evening. Furthermore, there was a busy main road at the end of the field. We were told this location was tranquil; my daughter and I have not been well lately, so we thought it would be nice. What a joke it was like being next to a depot. In addition, the ad states how well-equipped it was. This is the most basic property we have stayed in; for example, we were supplied with a basket of logs but no means to light the fire. I went out and bought kindling, firelighters and a lighter. One unhappy customer Elaine Gee
Thank you for your feedback, I'm sorry to hear that you feel that the property was misrepresented. We have ensured that the images of the property provide an accurate representation of the surrounding country side. As this is a self catering property some items may not be provided, however all fire lighting equipment is provided. Had we had known that you were unable to locate this we would have advised you where these items were located. We do appreciate your feedback and we will ensure that all of your comments are taken acted upon appropriately. Property Owner

"We had a wonderful holiday in this homey, clean and comfortable cottage."
Erika was really helpful and we are extremely grateful for her, she made our stay stress free. We had plenty to do even without a car as there are loads of walks right from the doorstep. Wherever we went we had lovely views of the peaks. We hope to come back to Hawks bridge bungalow for another relaxing holiday.

"We had a wonderful stay in this charming bungalow, it was like stepping back in time."
We loved the decor, very authentic with the property. The views are amazing, the snooker table was a bonus. Only downside was the postcode, it covers a lot of properties so we had to ask the owner to come and get us! She was lovely and so accommodating. I’d definitely recommend staying at Hawksbridge Bungalow.
