1 Customer Review

  • "Lovely clean place just very small & not a lot of household items to use that you would use on a short stay away ie only one small toilet roll, no kitchen roll, no scissors, only 2 very small pans, we’ve stayed at many lodges/cottages and all of them have had all this provided."

Glass on the floor on arrival which my daughter stood on it and got a tiny little cut on her foot, wasn’t sure where the glass was from but just left this and carried on our evening. Very uncomfortable beds but I get it is only a lodge/caravan so mattresses aren’t the best. Only 2 towels & 2 very small hand towels provided for a family of 4 including for the hot tub, so we had to ask for some more which were kindly provided, hot tub not very warm so wasn’t used much as after 10-15mins you were shivering so had to go back inside, we went food shopping nearby to keep the cost down after paying for the lodge & half way through cooking the food realised it wasn’t actually cooking as the inside of the oven door was smashed (this is where the glass was from) so the heat was escaping, after 40mins the food still wasn’t cooked. Had to call the guy, and again he kindly came after about 20minutes and took the glass from another lodge and replaced ours, the first lot of food had to be thrown away which was for the kids but we managed to cook ours after a frustrating hour thinking the food was going to go to waste. Also struggled to make sandwiches the next morning as the grill is so small and takes so long to actually grill it took over 20 minutes to grill some bacon which in any other grill iv ever used would usually take around 6-8minutes. I have booked several stays through Sykes & this is the first review I have ever left as I felt I needed to. Constructive criticism needed as I know this is a new business so maybe these things can be worked on to improve for further guests.
