"The whole family had a great break we'd stayed at the property before so we knew what to expect and we weren't disappointed."
The only downside was the British summer but we still enjoyed the garden and the grandchildren couldn't keep out of the hot tub.

"Fantastic property and great base for my daughters wedding."

"We stayed at High Legh for a week from Friday 5th July and my complaint mainly concerns what we found on arrival although, for completeness, I have added some other hopefully helpful comments at the end of this note."
This was our second visit – the first being two and a half years ago. Knowing the property, my wife and I arrived before the rest of our party as we needed to get the house ready for a special birthday celebration. The rooms were very clean with many things as before but there was a significant problem with the freezer in the kitchen. We had brought food with us which we needed to quickly freeze after our journey. However the freezer was unusable because of dirty solidified ice and huge bags of ice cubes welded to the shelves and compartments. My wife had to semi defrost the freezer rather than complete more urgent tasks in order to get any of our food into the freezer. This took her over of 3 hours during which time the rest of the family arrived including four grandchildren, all 5 or under. The freezer had not been inspected for some time as the build-up of ice and a broken flap to the bottom compartment hadn’t just happened recently. The only solution is probably for the owners to buy a new self-defrosting freezer or for the cleaning staff to defrost the current freezer in the 5 hour window they have between visitors but taht may not be feasible. This was our main complaint about the property this time, but it has to be said although we tried both the mobile number provided by the owner plus a Sykes contact number that evening, neither produced a reply. The information left for visitors is insufficient or inaccurate with too much included about another property abroad rather than helping someone navigate and feel at ease in High Legh. That was unhelpful but I need to mention to you that the quality of various things had noticeably deteriorated since we first visited when we felt like we were like the very first visitors. Back in 2021 it was immaculate and so smart. Sadly, I guess other visitors don’t treat the possessions of others as we do – we always respect a holiday let as we would our own home. For your (and the owners) information a few things we noticed during the week that certainly need remedial action/attention are • Our grandchildren aged 2-5 were at risk of being badly stung by nettles in retrieving balls from behind the basketball hoop etc. For families this is unacceptable and needs addressing immediately. • The foot of the garden table at the bottom of the garden has rusted away making it quite unstable. • The boules court needs a good weed - it looks very tatty and not liek the pictures. • The edge of the cover to the hot tub is ripped in places where people haven’t folded it back with care and in the right way • One settee in the lounge has a broken leg plus the legs of the various drinks tables are very wonky. We actually feel rather sorry for the owners as a fantastic property is now showing signs of aging and misuse by visitors but frankly they need to think about reinvesting in it to restore it to its former glory.
Thank you very much for this feedback. You have highlighted a few helpful things that we have already or will be rectifying as time allows between lets. (FYI we tend to do a full maintenance update during the winter months when there are some gaps in the letting schedule). We hope that despite the freezer being iced up that you managed to enjoy your second visit to Legh Oaks and we'll see you again in the future. Thank you again and best wishes. Property Owner

"The farmhouse provided everything that me and my besties needed for a lovely weekend celebration for my sixtieth birthday."
Comfort, luxury, peace and quiet and plenty of social space. Couldn’t fault it. Have already recommended it to some other people I know. We would definitely return.

"Good property, cooker was awkward to master (instructions/operations)."
Freezer next to front door needs defrosting (was already in this state).

"We have had an absolutely fantastic few days at Legh Oaks farm."
The whole house was warm and inviting as we arrived and was spotlessly clean. It was a definite wow factor as we walked in. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable and the fact that they all had access to a bathroom was a bonus. The kitchen was well equipped and a great space for family meals. The hot tub was clean and ready to use on arrival. We would definitely recommend this to friends and family. However there were a few things that we noticed straight away, that need addressing for future visitors which they probably already know about, otherwise we would have given it 5 stars. We realise that it’s very popular and that there might not have been time to keep up with small maintenance jobs in between rentals. The microwave door cover kept popping up , it just needs some strong glue, we had to put a few strips of tape on it. There were no kitchen scissors, thats about the only utensil missing. The freezer had draw doors either missing or broken. The flush button in the downstairs bathroom was loose. The small tables in the living room were very unstable. The wicker garden set had no parasol and two of the chairs were unsafe as the seats had worn through. It is worth mentioning that none of the above affected how much we enjoyed your property. These are all things that can easily be put right but needed mentioning, as you have a wonderful property that can be worthy of 5 stars in the future. "The experience was all amazing except for the property lacked basic things like olive oil etc for cooking - otherwise great!"
-
"The overall design is welcoming and comfortable really appreciated the quality of the kitchen , this is our second time at the Farm, had a wonderful experience."
The long journey from California was well worth the effort.

"Absolutely stunning house."
We enjoyed staying at such a beautifully renovated property. House had tea, coffee, sugar, dishwasher tabs, soap, bin bags etc which was a nice treat. Hot tub was lovely and warm, garden is a great size and the area is so quiet & peaceful. Thanks again for an amazing weekend - we will be back!
-
"Wonderfully spacious property."
We were a party of five couples gathering to celebrate a 70th birthday. We all agreed that Legh Oaks Farmhouse would be a great place to return to. Despite the very mixed weather we all had a great time. Congratulations to the owners.
-
"Great place for a group of friends to meet up."
All 50+ but still enjoyed a good kitchen disco and dance floor in the hall. Close to knutsford for a mooch out and supermarket visit even though we had a delivery to the house! Kitchen is fabulous. Under floor heating is amazing. Everything you need is in the house including towels for the hot tub. The only feedback we could suggest was maybe a table near the hot tub as everyone loved getting a selfie on their mobile in the hot tub but it was hard to leave 6 phones on the steps and get out safely but maybe that’s just because we like to look like we are living the high life when we go away! We loved it so much we rebooked it on the day we came home for next year.

"This is a beautifully modernised and stylish old farm house."
It was very comfortable, clean, well equipped and warm. It was a great place to spend a weekend with a group of old friends. The owners had noted the minor concerns raised by previous guests and put them right. (Stayed weekend of Oct 1st 2023)

"A beautiful place to stay - like a home from home."
We will definitely be re-booking!
-
"House was wonderful."
Clean and luxurious. Beds and pillows very comfortable. We had a wonderful stay. The only slight inconvenience was that there was 1 dishwasher tablet, tiny bit of washing up liquid and no cloth or sponge to wash up so we had to dash to the shop. Also no salt which I would have expected. Also bins outside were full so had nowhere to put our rubbish or recycling . Other than these small things. We had a fab stay in wonderful surroundings. Highly recommend.

"We loved our stay at Legh Oaks farm so much!"
It was just beautiful and the perfect place for us all (8 adults and 4 kids). Each of our rooms had an en suite which was brilliant, as well as an additional shared bathroom and toilet. Plenty of space, a lovey garden with hot tub, 2 living areas and a beautiful functional kitchen/diner.
-
"Excellent , the property was as presented on the internet with no negative surprises."
As a family of ten we had a fabulous visit , the farm addressed all our needs for both accommodation and recreation, the garden / outside facilities are fabulous. This was an important family reunion and the farm was a key part of our visit to Cheshire, we had a wonderful time.
-
"Beautiful house and location for 10 of us staying for a family wedding nearby."
The garden was so spacious and we made really good use of it during the sunny weather with outdoor meals and hot tub! The kitchen was perfect, well equipped with crockery and arrival necessities were provided like coffee, sugar and dishwasher tablets which was really handy. The bedrooms were nice and comfortable and it was great majority had en suites! All in all, we had a fab week in the north!
-
"The house was amazing !"
There was plenty of space for 6 of us plus a dog. ( there are a few restrictions for dogs so worth checking before. It would help if the full requirement is on the listing though)The property was clean. Arrival necessities such as coffee etc bin bags dishwasher tablets were all supplied. The log burner was an added bonus for us. Loved it !There were enough logs supplied for one fire but readily available at the garden centre nearby. The hot tub was awesome but we had to refill by saucepans as the hose was taped up.(not too much of a problem though) Plastic attire such as plates glasses etc are not supplied for garden use.Could be very useful if they were for safety reasons. We had an amazing time and the Christmas tree was beautiful.Thank you for letting us into your home.It felt extremely special and homely !
-
"A lovely holiday home ."
Couple of things that would have been appreciated. A small bottle of milk and a few logs just to get us started otherwise it was perfect

"We had the most amazing stay at this lovely house - the pictures do not do it justice!"
The house was decorated beautifully, everything we needed was there, and the location was great. I really can't fault our stay, thank you!

"This must be the most awesome property we’ve ever stayed at."
As soon as we walked through the front doors we were all gobsmacked as to its size, amenities, cleanliness and the fact we all had spacious beautiful bedrooms with an en suite to each of them. To have our own spacious lounge to relax in comfort as adults with a wood burner, whilst the children watched their own programmed on the tv in the cinema room. The kitchen area was to die for. It was huge and well equipped with fridges and freezer, dishwasher and an amazing cooker, oven, hob and extractor fan. The massive table and chairs accommodated the nine of us easily for meals in comfort. Just off the hallway in an enclosed space was a sink, and bar area with yet another fridge for the alcohol. The enclosed garden area was ideal, safe and spacious for our little dog and the children with a basketball hoop and the awesome hot tub. I enjoyed my early morning coffee on one of the two patio areas every morning being visited by a beautiful pheasant. All in all none of us have any qualms in highly recommending this property to others as we all said we’d like to make a return trip there in the future. The only issue we have is that we couldn’t stay longer.

"A lovely spacious cottage, that the three generations of our family thoroughly enjoyed staying in!"
It was obvious, and reassuring, that the owners had noted the comments in previous reviews as there was plenty of new crockery and handwash in each bathroom. It was only our first impression that fell below the 5 star rating - nettles and weeds all around the games area, a cheap, very stained tea towel, a nasty smell from the hall cupboard (a dirty mop), and no welcome pack (so unusual these days....not even milk!). However, we quickly managed these and would be happy to return.
-
"Beautiful place, had lovely time with all old friends, only two single bed very soft, was ask to put board, made comfortable after that."
Please provide toilet cleaner in each toilet and brush.
-
"We stayed for the weekend to celebrate my mum's 60th birthday."
This house is a fantastic place for all the family to get together. Plenty of space and very well kitted out. The kitchen and dining area is absolutely fantastic, the whole house is beautifully decorated and clean, everyone slept comfortably in the beds, the garden is a fantastic size and the hot tub was fab. My only minor point is that quite a lot of the crockery and mugs are badly chipped and in need of replacement and there was a lack of hand wash in all the bathrooms. However this did not deter from us having had a fabulous weekend here.
-
"Cottage was absolutely beautiful, perfect size for a large group, extremely clean and comfortable."
Living room a fantastic size with perfect sofas for a large group to sit together. Loved the designated bar area for drinks to be stored Fantastic to have 3 fridges as with 10 people staying they were all needed and used Kitchen table excellent size to gather around and again fantastic to see 10 chairs Bedrooms were spacious and spotless and each had their own bathroom Hot tub a great size Brilliant outdoor table for eating outside Only suggestions that came from our group and no way intended as any kind of criticism - Plastic glasses for use in hot tub - More garden furniture seats (there were not enough ratten chairs for 10 to sit outside together) - Would be nice to have a firepit outside so we can stay outside when the evening gets a bit chilly (we had this at last year's cottage and we all loved it)
-
"We had an amazing relaxing time."
The place was stunning. Fantastic attention to detail on the decor. Having read the previous reviews the owners really seemed to have taken on board and resolved issues that had been raised before. It was my husbands 60th during the break, a handful of family members joined us for a couple of nights and they too were blown away by the cottage. The only tiny picky suggestion for improvement would be we couldn’t find a hairdryer. Other than that a big well done on the place. We definitely hope to return.
-
"Fabulous property."
Pictures didn’t do it justice. We had Tesco and Asda deliveries found us no problem and a fantastic Indian delivery. Would definitely go back
-
"Lovely big property which worked great with different parts of the family."
Clean on arrival. Helpful when smoke alarm in kitchen went off! (way too near hob!) for the price missing a few finishing touches: for example, one bin bag, one tea towels, no hand-towels for communal bathrooms, no welcome basket, information booklet was very limited on local area and washing machine mouldy. Minor points, but only takes a little to be 100% perfect. That said we got separate hot tubs towels and hand wash in the bathrooms which were great!!!
-
"A SPACIOUS AND WELL EQUIPPED HOLIDAY HOUSE, SUITABLE FOR A LARGE FAMILY PARTY."
THE OWNER AND TEAM RESPONDED WELL TOSORT OUT A PROBLEM ON DAY ONE, DESPITE BEING AWAY THEMSELVES
-
"Booked for a family celebration & the house & experience far exceeded our expectations."
-
"We were staying here for several days with my sons ex in laws during their visit from the US."
Its in a quiet location with only the sound of cows to disturb. They could not believe the standard of this rental, the pictures do not do it justice. This amazing property is superbly finished, perfect for a family of 10. Each couple having their own bedroom with large comfortable beds and en suite bathrooms. Stylish kitchen which using the ample island, I managed to decorate a 3 tier wedding cake. The children loved the TV room, the adults loved the hot tub. We loved the outdoor games and plenty of outdoor seating. Richard was quick to respond to help us out, we'd love to stay again.
-
"This house is beautiful the pictures really don’t do it justice, everything has been so well thought out, the beds are super comfy & the bedrooms are stunning, would definitely book again- thank you!"
-
"Stayed here in May of this year for 3 nights to celebrate a joint 30th & 40th birthday with friends - we had the most amazing weekend, thank you so much."
The communication before & during the visit was fantastic & the owner even rang me directly when we had a query on arrival. The house is beautiful & perfect for what we wanted, it had everything we needed & great fridge space. We had other friends come to join during the day & everyone commented on how lovely the property was - hot tub was an added bonus! Thank you again so much, we couldn’t have asked for a better weekend
-
"Fantastic property."
Immaculate and had everything needed!
-
"Fantastic weekend to celebrate family member’s big birthday."
Ten of us altogether with ages ranging from 3 months to 93 years. Kids loved the hot tub and the exploring all the space the house had to offer.
-
"The pictures do not do the property justice."
It is more beautiful than the pictures give it credit for. The addition of the Christmas tree made it more special and we had fun in the garden (dogs loved it) and the patio area and hot tub were great. It's nice to know that the dogs can roam freely and are safe whilst we relax and enjoy ourselves.
-
"I stayed at Legh Oaks Farm over the weekend with my friends to celebrate a birthday!"
It was the perfect cottage to host a large group with excellent facilities. We all couldn’t get over how amazing the cottage was and didn’t want to leave! We will be returning in the future for sure! Thank you!
-
"We booked this property to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday with our children, grandchildren and 2 dogs."
It exceeded our expectations being very spacious and comfortable, perfect for us all. Unfortunately Storm Arwen knocked out the power for a couple of days but the owner did all he could to help us with a big log delivery so we were at least warm. He kindly recompensed us for our 'missing' 2 days and we couldn't ask for more than that. We would definitely return in the future and would highly recommend the property.
-
"Spotlessly clean, cosy yet luxurious accommodation."
A beautiful house in a lovely location, perfect for a special family occasion.
-
"We had a wonderful stay."
The cottage was very comfortable, spacious, well kept, close to parks, pubs restaurants, shops yet very quiet and had every facility we needed and more. The only item we needed more of was tea towels !
-
"Fantastic place for a large group with plenty room and equipment."
Hot tub was great and the garden was perfect for the dog with being completely enclosed. Very helpful when we asked for assistance. We had a lovely stay!
-
"The property was amazing and just like the pictures."
When we had a small issue they came round within about 10 minutes to fix it. A larger and better frying pan would have been nice for ease of cooking for up to 10 people. There were numerous kitchen gadgets such as blender, nutribullet. etc. The whole family enjoyed the tranquility of location and playing basketball.
-
"Great place to stay, ideal for the family as very private."
The only downfall was cleanliness, the cutlery, dishes, pans, place mats were all dirty. When we came to use they had all been put away in draws but was dirty didn't look like they had been washed, so we had to clean everything... So it couldn't have been checked by a cleaner. Also the wooden garden furniture is very worn, we didn't actually sit on it, as didnt look too safe to use. But the other garden furniture was fine. Property itself is lovely, plenty of space, and the hot tub was great!
-
"Farm house is absolutely brilliant with many facilities."
We all had a wonderful time together. We will recommend this place to our families and friends. Only thing is furniture in the garden is giving up Some of the wooden chairs not stable they braking. Also bedrooms furniture cupboards are not opening properly. Need more utensils in the kitchen Frying pen etc… We did managed it very well with what was there so didn’t have any problem. Thank you
Thank you for your feedback and for recommending the property to your friends and family. We have replaced the garden furniture which was needed after lots of use over the busy season. The kitchen is also fully re-stocked with utensils. We hope to welcome you back again! Property Owner

"We had a fantastic week at Legh Oaks Farm."
The house was beautifully decorated and perfectly spacious and suitable for our party of 10. The garden space was ideal and the peaceful location was lovely. We were slightly disappointed that the hot tub was not installed before our departure as this would have been the icing on the cake. Although the house itself is isolated the local area is stunning and provides lots to do and see. We were able to run/cycle in the surrounding countryside and enjoy the local farm shops. We would love to return to Legh Oaks Farm. Thank you.
Thank you for your feedback, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. We can confirm the hot tub is fully installed and hope you will return and make use of it when you next visit! Property Owner
