  • "The layout of the property was really good and our youngest dog enjoyed his first holiday away omce he got used to the wooden floors."

He also enjoyed his game of treasure hunting finding a watch under a cupboard, a ball left by a previous pet and some sweets under the sofa. We were suprised not to find information on when to put the bin out or recycling, the tap was loose in the cloakroom and we couldn't find the head attachment for the vacuum cleaner. There was still a free wasps round so we couldn't leave doors or windows open but it also wasn't the weather to have them open. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the trip out to Cannock Chase and the resevoir was good. We played games in the evening and it was a relaxing stay.

  • "Can’t praise this property enough."

Stayed here with our two Daughters in their mid-twenties & their Boyfriends & their two puppies. Plenty of room for Everybody to be together and had the best time ever! Walks off-road immediately outside the property which was great as didn’t need to get in the car every time. Great dog friendly pubs nearby that you can walk to.. plus a convenience store. So much to do. The week flew & plan to go back for another Family Reunion in April for another week for my Husband’s big Birthday

  • "Loved the space the layout and the size of the property."

The enclosed garden was perfect for our puppy. The kitchen had plenty of utensils, cutlery, cups, plates pots and pans. The beds were comfortable and the showers were powerful. Overall we enjoyed our stay and had some great walks out. A few things we felt were missing, an iron and ironing board, a washing line or clothes maiden, place mats for the kitchen table. Negatives! There was a wasps nest to the side of the house, we reported it and someone came out 3 days later, it just meant we couldn't have all the windows open which was a shame as the weather was lovely. (Hopefully that is all sorted, the guy said it was a big nest). The cushions for the patio furniture were stacked up and wet through, maybe store them in the utility room. And the bbq was left dirty and the lid was broken.

  • "The house was lovely inside, a sleeper across the back door or a layer of bricks would be helpful so its not such a big step down for older guests, there is still a wasps nest so we had to keep killing/ removing them throughout the day and i have since seen that was mentioned to you in a previous review so would have been nice if they had been dealt with and the main complaint of the holiday was the incessant barking from the dogs in the back garden all day, every day."

We were unable to really use the grassy area as every time we went out there they were running at the fence at our dog barking and when we weren't out there they appeared to be obsessed with a tree in the garden and spent all day circling it and barking relentlessly

  • "This was a great property and would recommend."

The location was a little remote unless you don't mind a walk into the village, but most places need a drive. There is a quite a bit of a step getting in from the patio doors so not necessarily great for young little ones. The tap in the wc was wobbly when we arrived but this was rarely used during the stay. There were quite a few wasps around and seemed to be around the main doorway, so perhaps a wasps nest in the roofspace? Overall very happy and comfortable. We would be happy to come again when we plan on being in the area again.

  • "Lovely time even during a wet week in November!"

Very rural, which we loved, and on the edge of the Staffordshire way. Spacious, Comfortable, clean, warm and reasonably well equipped meant we could just relax and enjoy being there when the weather was poor. Ideal for family with a small child being on one level (but need to bring own cot and high chair) . Great outside space with table and chairs for when weather permits. We enjoyed walks on Cannock Chase, by the canals in Great Haywood, and Dovedale in Derbyshire. Great food at the DunCow in Colton, cobwebs cafe in Abbots Bromley and Denstone farm shop a bit further away. A few local leaflets might help those who don’t know the area, but we would be very happy to return. Thank you.

  • "Walnut View looked wonderful on entering the property!"

Sadly, the oven was full of crumbs and when I used the oven for the first time it smoked and set of the smoke alarm! So I needed to clean it and let the fat burn off! Some cupboards where not clean so I had to clean them! But worst of all was the stack of 12 plates that were all badly chipped and terribly marked and several others! After a good sort out I found a set of good plates and cereal bowls for our use! I found dirty plates and a dirty roasting dish too! Very disappointing!

  • "Overall we enjoyed our stay."

However, there is room for improvement ie: Baking trays provided for oven. Instructions on when bins are emptied and where recycling items should go Would have been nice to have been able view the green area beyond the fenced in patio, even a slated fence would have been preferable. King size beds would have made a great improvement. Owners dogs barking was annoying at times. ,

  • "A beautiful cottage, well equipped and clean."

We were a family of 7 including a baby and there was plenty of room for us all. The garden was immaculate and perfect for the kids having room to run around and the patio area was great for relaxing. Didn't get to use the BBQ due to the weather. Would definitely recommend to anyone and hope to return in the future.

  • "Wonderful property."

Beds very comfortable. Kitchen supplies could do with addition of the basics that everyone needs, potato masher, fish slice, cleaning materials like a mop and bucket, facilities for hanging out washing, hair dryer. Tourist leaflets, instructions on bins even if owners manage themselves but a guest needs to know. Info on nearest doctor, pharmacy in times of emergency etc. We enjoyed the week tremendously

  • "The cottage is absolutely lovely, a beautiful house."

We had everything we needed, the kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans, utensils, etc. The large American-style fridge freezer came in handy for all the bbq food and drinks. The lounge is large, with a big sofa and dining table. There was plenty of space for the whole family (7 of us) to gather for meals, game nights, and just chilling together. The patio is a good size, with plenty of furniture for sitting and enjoying drinks and food. There is a grass area to the side of the house, where our dog enjoyed a little run in the morning, but be mindful that this is not fully fenced in and dogs can get out in the road if they really want to. All in all, we had a great time and definitely recommend this place.

  • "As I said on my note it was a lovely spacious sitting area both in and out ."

Everything we could possibly need , lock on the toilet door needed ( when 6 occupy it ) and shower door needed attention, but minor things compared with the overall accommodation. Excellent for hikers , lovely quiet location , fabulous villages nearby and friendly pubs and tea rooms . We would not hesitate to recommend this place to hikers , walkers , dog owners , we had to drive a bit as we had an 80 year old with us , who incidentally was dancing on the large fenced off patio

  • "The cottage was lovely, just wasn’t very comfy for 6 adults sofas wasn’t big enough, beds Uncomfortable not enough kitchen utensils like scissors, vegetable knifes not enough saucepans and frying pans, mugs, no bins in the bedrooms."

Some cleaning products and a hoover with proper attachments would of been useful if these things put right the cottage would be 10/10 Village was lovely and the pubs all dog friendly Yes I would recommend and return.

Hi Sam, Thankyou for your feedback. We have added some more utensils and pans to the kitchen, ordered some toppers for the mattresses and added another chair to the sitting area. We hope these things didn’t ruin your stay and look forward to seeing you next time. Property Owner

Fabulous property with so much space. Beautifully furnished & well equipped . We had a lovely stay A little more information such as how to program the dishwasher, adjust heating & where to empty the bins would have been useful. Noise from dogs barking in adjoining garden was a little irritating at times
