"We had a lovely welcome when we arrived at the cottage and the milk, biscuits, wine and fresh flowers were really appreciated."
The cottage is lovely - one of the best we’ve stayed in - with everything we needed. The slow-cooker was used on two days and coming back home to the smell of home-made stew was lovely. The views from the cottage are apparently beautiful. We had a little glimpse but the whole week was very misty/foggy which was a shame. We had days out in Bakewell and Castleton which were lovely. The rest of the time we basically just chilled in this beautiful cottage. It is so comfortable and lovely and cozy sitting in front of the log burner. Thank you very much. We would definately recommend Keepers Cottage and would love to return someday.

"We had a lovely week at Keepers Cottage."
There were four of us, 2 mature couples. The owner was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble, even though she is very busy with the farm. The house was plenty big enough, with two lovely sitting out areas, when the weather was kind enough. The extra living room is useful if you want television in the evenings, but we tended to stay in the kitchen area, playing card games. There was adequate equipment for the preparation of meals, although we did encounter a slight problem on occasions, getting the oven door to close. The slow cooker was a really useful addition. It was really helpful having the two bathroom options and one is downstairs. We didn't need the heating but couldn't find a way to get the towel rails to heat without it (probably us!). Great fun watching the day to day activities of the farm, especially all the sheep passing right in front of the cottage. It was easy to get out and about and we did walks from Whaley Bridge, Castleton, visited Lyme Park and did a Treasure trail at Hayfield amongst other trips. We would highly recommend the Cock Inn at Whaley Bridge, especially for Sunday lunch.

Everything needed for a good holiday was there - including sunshine when required! The slow cooker was a very welcome bonus especially as there are some excellent butchers in the area. Also the kindness and understanding in my difficult circumstances was really appreciated. Keepers is a special place.

"We had a wonderful week at Keepers Cottage, from the very moment we arrived, with a warm welcome from Mary, the logburner roaring, and thoughtful touches such as milk, wine, biscuits and orange juice."
The cottage is spacious, and comfortable, with plenty of room for two families and the situation perfect, only minutes away from local tourist spots by car, but with fantastic walks from the door .The fact that my mother lived here as a child and that it is still a working farm made it all the more special. We can't wait to return and I am sure that this was only the first of many visits to come. Thank you Mary, for your hospitality and we hope to see you again soon.
So pleased you enjoyed your stay & thank you for your lovely comments. Looking forward to seeing you again in spring 2023 Thanks Mary Property Owner

"We enjoyed our second visit to Keepers Cottage very much."
It is in a lovely position with walks from the door and a working farm all around. It is so handy for tours further into the Peak District. Wynatt’s Pass and the Hope valley are within easy reach. The town is only a mile away and the individual shops are well worth a visit. The log stove makes for cosy evenings indoors. Many thanks!

"Mary was the perfect host, friendly and approachable."
Being on the farm gave us the most stunning views both front and rear. Excellent position for all the Derbyshire tourist destinations as well as amazing walks. The interior of the cottage was very in keeping with the cottage. The soft furnishings were of a high standard and there wasn't anything missing, everything you could have asked for. Certainly will be a returner. Thank you Mary.

"Lovely cottage, with a very warm welcome!"
Very clean. The furniture is a bit dated, but still okay. Nice large kitchen with sitting corner. Very suitable for families with children. Chapel is well placed as basis for visiting the Peak District, and several hiking possibilities are close by. Recommended!

The kids loved meeting the newborn lambs and watching out for tractors. And a wonderful welcome made it even more special.
-
"Very quiet location but only 1mile from a large Morrison’s supermarket."
Great location for Stanage Edge, Mam Tor and most fantastic Peak District Walks. Not far from Chatsworth and Lyme Park. You need to book a timed entrance ticket online during current Covid restrictions. The cottage is warm and cosy with every conceivable implement for cooking - even a slow cooker.
-
"The cottage was spotlessly clean and the pictures on the site certainly do not do it justice."
The seating provided outside was perfect at the end of a day of exploring to sit and relax with a glass The owner was extremely friendly but did not encroach on our holiday time. So much to do in the local area with stunning scenery We climbed Mam Tor which is 5 minutes drive away and watched the sunrise which was truly breathtaking Cannot recommend this cottage highly enough

"Had a lovely stay."
Cottage was very spacious, warm & well-equipped. Was very comfortable there, which was good as my son was ill so we had to take it in turns to look after him. It was testament to the size & comfort of the cottage, that we could stay there without feeling on top of each other. Loved the peaceful location. Close to the shops in Chapel-en-le Frith & also to other Peak District favourites of Buxton & Castleton. No public transport to Castleton due to the windy roads leading in, so be prepared to drive or if feeling brave, walk.
-
"Fantastic week in fabulous surroundings!"
Lovely cottage - well equipped, cosy and comfortable. Everything we needed for a relaxing break! Loads to see and do in the surrounding area, so much so, we ran out of days and will need to go back!!
-

"Delightful cottage with stunning views and walks, very peaceful, loved seeing and hearing the farm animals."
-
"Owners live just next door, they were friendly & told us exactly what we needed to know"
-
"We had a great stay in an excellent location - hiking from the door but still close to civilisation."
The house is lovely, well maintained and comfortable, nice and warm on a cold evening with the woodburner fired up. We would be happy to return, and from the guest book it seems that there are a number of guests who come back year after year. The cottage is next to a working farm run by the owners - we found them very friendly and helpful. We had the joy of watching the newborn lambs in the field next-door. As per the description, there is only one bathroom and no dishwasher - this might be a consideration for some. Parking next to the cottage is one car only, though there might be possibilities elsewhere on the farm.
