Caynham Court is a magnificent holiday home in Caynham, Shropshire, perfectly suited to families or friends looking for a spectacular base for a celebration.

With intricate plasterwork ceiling and windows that date back to the 1790s renovation, as well as original oak flooring and characterful features throughout, this decadent home provides an ideal escape, complete with a wealth of home comforts.

On arrival, the private driveway will lead you to the off-road parking before stepping into the boot room.

From here, the grand hallway takes you to the kitchen/diner, a former library now transformed and fitted with everything you need for a self-catering break or a catering crew to cook up a storm for you.

The formal dining room is a showstopper, with a stunning cornice ceiling and ample seating, whilst the sitting room offers plenty of plush seating and a huge, glass-fronted woodburning stove to snuggle up in front of.

Moving through the ground floor, a gun room is provided to lock away your hunting apparatus, and a utility room provides a useful space for freshening your wardrobe; this room is also stocked with breakfast options, kindly provided by the owner to give you the best start to your day.

When you’re not making use of the social hubs on the ground floor, there are ten bedrooms in which you can catch your rest.

Climb the stairs, carefully passing the guard-watch bear, to the first floor where four of the ten bedrooms are located; the remaining six rest on the second floor and the ten are made up of two super-king-size, four king-size, two doubles, and two family rooms.

Each bathroom has an en-suite shower room, except for a second-floor king-size, which has an en-suite bathroom with a roll-top bath, and a second-floor double room, which is serviced by a bathroom with a bath and walk-in shower, allowing more than enough space for your party to freshen up.

The grounds of this stunning property are worth taking advantage of, with acres of luscious greenery, seating for alfresco dining and woodland walks to enjoy; why not spend your morning with a coffee on the patio before taking a stroll along the trout stream in the fresh air?

Just a short drive away is the bustling market town of Ludlow, where you can dine out and stock up on any essentials.

The historic market town of Ludlow is situated on the River Teme, amidst the outstanding countryside of the Welsh Marches. With more than 500 listed buildings, the town provides a fascinating range of architecture including Ludlow Castle which is over 900 years old and is one of the first stone castles to be built in England. Today the castle is open all year round and hosts a wide range of events including outdoor theatre, food, art and literature festivals and many antique and art fairs. Below the castle, Millenium Green offers a large public riverside green and weir and provides excellent indoor and outdoor dining facilities via the Green Cafe located right on the riverside. Ludlow has held street markets since the twelfth century. Nowadays, a traditional open-air market takes place in the town square every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday throughout the year.
