Description

Ludlow 3.6 miles.

Caynham Court is a magnificent holiday home in Caynham, Shropshire, perfectly suited to families or friends looking for a spectacular base for a celebration.

With intricate plasterwork ceiling and windows that date back to the 1790s renovation, as well as original oak flooring and characterful features throughout, this decadent home provides an ideal escape, complete with a wealth of home comforts.

On arrival, the private driveway will lead you to the off-road parking before stepping into the boot room.

From here, the grand hallway takes you to the kitchen/diner, a former library now transformed and fitted with everything you need for a self-catering break or a catering crew to cook up a storm for you.

The formal dining room is a showstopper, with a stunning cornice ceiling and ample seating, whilst the sitting room offers plenty of plush seating and a huge, glass-fronted woodburning stove to snuggle up in front of.

Moving through the ground floor, a gun room is provided to lock away your hunting apparatus, and a utility room provides a useful space for freshening your wardrobe.

When you’re not making use of the social hubs on the ground floor, there are ten bedrooms in which you can catch your rest.

Climb the stairs, carefully passing the guard-watch bear, to the first floor where four of the ten bedrooms are located; the remaining six rest on the second floor and the ten are made up of two super-king-size, four king-size, two doubles, and two family rooms.

Each bathroom has an en-suite shower room, except for a second-floor king-size, which has an en-suite bathroom with a roll-top bath, and a second-floor double room, which is serviced by a bathroom with a bath and walk-in shower, allowing more than enough space for your party to freshen up.

The grounds of this stunning property are worth taking advantage of, with acres of luscious greenery, seating for alfresco dining and woodland walks to enjoy; why not spend your morning with a coffee on the patio before taking a stroll along the trout stream in the fresh air?

Just a short drive away is the bustling market town of Ludlow, where you can dine out and stock up on any essentials.

History buffs may want to see Ludlow Castle while the nature lovers of the group wander the Whitcliffe Common Nature Reserve.

The National Trust’s Berrington Hall makes a lovely day out for the family and four-legged friends can come along too when exploring Croft Castle and Parkland.

Avid walkers and enthusiasts of picture-perfect scenery can venture a little further to the Shropshire Hills National Landscape for endless viewpoints.

With so much to enjoy in and out of the grounds of Caynham Court, your adventure to Shropshire is just a few clicks away.

Lovely place for a 50th reunion.

Digby was a great host and showed us round when we arrived. Gave us some charcoal for the bbq and was always on hand for bits and bobs. The house is fantastic. The bear…the bear!

Caynham Court was perfect for our family birthday weekend.

There were fourteen of us (and a dog) and there was plenty of room for us all. The house is beautiful, eccentric and immaculately clean. The kitchen was well equipped and the grounds were great for enjoying the sunny weather. The owners live on site and were friendly and ready to help with any questions or issues. Overall, it was a lovely weekend, thank you!

We had a thoroughly enjoyable time on our long weekend at Caynham Court.

The bedrooms are wonderfully spacios, with some amazing bathrooms, we loved the powerful monsoon showers. The lounge is enormous, plenty of room for our party of 20 peple and three dogs, with the big log burner a great focus of attention. The kitchen has plenty of room for preparing largescale meals, particularly liked the steam oven, first time had used one, which cooked the salmon to perfection. The dining room easily held twentyand has great views across the field. The owner was welcoming and on hand to deal with anything that came up. A great experience!
