Very well equipped property, lovely location, ideal for getting out walking the Tissington Trail and to Dovedale

We were pleasantly surprised by the size and cleanliness of Owls Barn.

Online the lounge /kitchen appeared to be all in one. But they were separate and large. The views from all the windows were great bearing in mind that you are not allowed to put windows where there weren’t any before, when converting it. It was warm - underfloor heating downstairs and well equipped. The owner left milk, eggs (her own) and gave us a courtesy quick visit at 10:00 am the 1st morning to check we were okay. 5*

We had a lovely xmas break at Owls Barn.

It was well looked after, well equipped and really peaceful - exactly what we were after. It was plenty warm enough with the underfloor heating, and plenty of space for all of our various clutter (3 kids @ xmas!).

Excellent area for walking with walks from the doorstep and many only a short drive away. We'd love to return with our bikes.

Owls Barn is a lovely to place to stay.

Set in a beautiful part of the Peak District, there are plenty of walks and cycle routes straight from the door. The walk down to the River Dove is absolutely gorgeous. We watched spotted flycatchers, dippers, herons, buzzards, kestrels and even a kingfisher. Owls Barn is very comfortable, clean, extremely well equipped and wants for nothing. The owner came down to check that everything was well. We even had fresh eggs and milk on arrival. We would definitely like to stay again.

The property is as near to perfect as you can get.

This is the fourth time we have stayed in the Owls Barn or Haybarn.

The cottages are very clean, well equipped and comfortable. The owner is very helpful. The location is excellent for getting on the Tissington Trail and visiting lots of beautiful countryside and villages.

Located in the perfect spot for accessing the Tissington Trail and access to Dovedale with walks to Milldale and Hartington. Would highly recommend staying here. Easy access to Peak District. Friendly owners too.

Lovely place and owner, we did have two small children so it would have been great to have safety gates at the top and bottom of the stairs due to the stairs not being child friendly.

The step in the kitchen was also an issue for our 3yr old grandson, overall a nice relaxing stay.

This was our fourth visit to either the Owls Barn or the Hay Barn next door.

The barns are comfortable and well equipped and in a beautiful location with wide ranging views in all directions over the countryside. The owner is attentive and helpful. The barns are very near the Tissington trail, a wonderful place for cyclist and walkers.

Lovely cottage in a perfect location.

Very clean,it felt like we was the first ones to stay there. Children didn't want to leave, and that's a first with holiday accommodation. Wouldn't hesitate to book again. Loved cooking in the large kitchen. Great beds and soft bedding and towels provided. Missed having a welcome hamper which we've received in all other cottages on arrival but not a big deal, its more important to be clean which it was.

Once again we booked via Sykes for the best in self catering.

This was a booking for my brother and his family which had a tough start due to power outages in Derbyshire following a huge storm. Sykes helped with sorting this out and everyone having a great Christmas. Huge thanks to Sykes for great support and selection of places to stay.

Owls Barn was an ideal holiday property for the 6 of us in a beautiful and convenient setting for our teenage boys to run along the Tissington trail and for parents and grandparent to enjoy walking.

It was spotlessly clean, comfortable, and well equipped for all our needs. Alison was a friendly and helpful host who provided us with useful information about the farm and their beautiful herd of cows. This was our second visit to the barns and we look forward to going again.

The property was clean with everything you would need. Just off the main road & within 25 minutes of Buxton & Ashbourne.

An outstanding property of a very high standard and quality.

Alison is a very friendly host who clearly takes pride in her properties. Plenty of walks from the door and local to some very pretty villages including Hartington (be sure to visit the Cheese Shop) and Tissington. This was our third stay at these cottages (also stayed at Shepherds Retreat) and booking again for next year. A truly hidden gem!!

This is holiday accommodation of the very highest standard.

Excellent in every way and to be completely recommended as being the perfect place to stay to explore a beautiful area.

Excellent high spec accommodation and setting.

Only a very short stroll or cycle to access the Tissington Trail and to walks along the river Dove and the Waterloo Inn in Biggin is recommended. Great lunches and service after a long walk.. Owls Barn has lovely views from the kitchen windows. Great to meet the owner Alison who took the time to come and say hello. Would definitely stay here again. Probably the best holiday rental we’ve ever had. Highly recommended.

Owl cottage is beautiful.

The owner has thought about everything that the holiday maker needs for a comfortable stay. The cottage itself is of a very high standard with tasteful decor. The location is scenic and quiet, with lovely walks from the doorstep, including the Tissington trail. It is within easy reach of places of interest a little further afield. We had a wonderful few days here and I would highly recommend this cottage.

Spotlessly clean, well furnished and equipped to an extremely high standard. Alison is very friendly, and is always available if needed. We have stayed in the adjoining property The Haybarn and it is excellent also. A quiet, peaceful and great location for exploring the area. We are looking forward to our third visit at the end of the summer.

I am quite frankly disgusted by how I have been treated regarding this booking.

Beautiful cottage finished to a very high standard set in farmland and with lovely rural views.

In an excellent accessible position just off the A515. The Tissington Trail is also just a short distance away. Ideal for cyclists and walkers and also accessible to lots of attractions - Chatsworth , Alton Towers etc We walked straight out of the door on several occasions into a wonderland of amazing spring flowers, particularly cowslips and orchids The owners also made time to come and see us with a wonderful welcome.

We had a fab week with lovely weather 20 degrees in march Lovely walks ,scenary .

Owls Barn was very comfortable. Couldn't get the radiator to work in bathroom but we shut the downstairs doors and left the bathroom door open so it was ok in the morning . Comfy sofas after a day in the dales plenty of space for 3 couples with cars Would definately consider staying again

Stunning views from every window and beautiful walks right from the property and access to the Tissington trail at the top of the lane. Very quiet location for a relaxing holiday.
