Welcome pack unexpected but very much appreciated. Everything you could possibly need to run a home. Beautifully decorated, comfortable, spacious and quite luxurious. Though we did not have a pet, they would have clearly been catered for as well. We would definitely visit again and highly recommend it as a place to stay.

Now done summer and winter at Holme. Both equally relaxing. The cottage is warm and cosy with every item on hand to have a "get away from in all" break without going anywhere other than the miles of fabulous walks from the doorstep. We had quite a lot of rain and the cottage is very well equipped to dry clothing in the unpredictable Pennine weather. The Fleece pub and all day pantry is great and welcoming for a drink/lunch or evening meal. Really nice welcome pack and fresh flowers-lovely touch.

The location is great - a lovely quiet village surrounded by hills but only 5 mins walk to the bus stop to Holmfirth/Huddersfield. The owners had made the cottage really nice, with lots of lamps, candles, cushions, cosy places to sit, and a useful dining table. The only downside was the cow farm two doors away from which you can sometimes hear cows screaming in distress, but this obviously isn't the fault of the cottage owners. I would recommend this holiday cottage for a relaxing stay in a beautiful part of the country.

Close to loads of great walks. We didn't arrive until after 11pm and Shirley met us at the cottage (we felt a bit bad arriving so late-maybe a key box for late arrivals?) and had left us milk for breakfast and a bottle of bubbly to celebrate our return to Yorkshire after over a year away- very thoughtful. The cottage is really nicely presented, with lots of modern touches in a traditional cottage. The only thing that let it down for us was that the double bed was uncomfortable & springy, so much so my partner moved out to one of the single beds half way through the week as he just wasn't sleeping. It's a shame as we were only really there overnight each night as we were visiting family all day so didn't get to appreciate the rest of it. A comfy bed is a top priority for us. Location wise, second to none. Well equipped and lovely friendly service from Shirley. Everything very easy in relation to covid & booking terms with Sykes cottages were great.

There’s everything you need for a home from home, comfortable stay. Although it’s on a through road, there’s very little traffic and next to no noise. If you’re going to cook the odd meal, the kitchen is well equipped. Furniture is comfy throughout. The towels are big, fluffy and there’s plenty of them. Beds are really comfy, assuring a good nights sleep after a busy day exploring. The owners are just down the road at the Fleece Inn pub and are happy to help with any requests you might have. The food and drink at the pub is excellent. We also had some lovely meals at the Old Bridge pub in Holmfirth. If you want to leave the car, the bus stop is nearby and the bus service is extremely reliable. Would highly recommend Fleece Cottage, it’s an excellent base to enjoy the dales! Thank you Shirley for your hospitality and the very kind welcome pack. Thank you Sykes. I’ve been using your company for a number of years now and once again, you didn’t disappoint.
