We’ve had a lovely weekend and the cottage could be lovely however, as others have said, it’s a bit tired and could do with some time and money spent on it.

The bathrooms could do with being replaced and in places, paint and plaster are coming off the walls. A couple of the radiators are rusty and paint is coming off them. The property could desperately do with a deep clean. These issues have been mentioned on previous reviews too. We have had a good weekend there though and found the beds, living room and dining room to be comfortable. I would stay again if I needed to be in the area.

We had a lovely, relaxed stay in this property.

The facilities were very good and the area was perfect for the places we wished to visit. Local pubs , especially The Old Black Horse next door, proved a real hit with their lovely food. We did feel that the shower room needed a bit off an update, and there should be a mention of the quite steep step up into the lounge, although this didn’t affect us it might be an issue for someone with accessibility issues.

Overall we enjoyed our stay.

However, we felt the property needs a bit of tlc. For example, difficult/impossible to shut internal doors. Property needs an all over deep clean as there were cobwebs all round and even food under the sofa. Also a used bar of soap was left in the shower. Fire alarms didn’t work (no batteries.) Cutlery needs replacing as these were old and rusty. Some rooms needed a coat of paint.
