Broadway Barn

A wonderful venue for a large family gathering, with plenty of accommodation, bathrooms, and a well equipped kitchen.

Very well situated for some of the best walks in the Peak District. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. We hope to return!

The property is cosy and comfortable with good sized bedrooms and bathrooms and a lovely sitting area.

The location is fantastic for walking and visiting the Peaks and the Dales. The owner is on the same land if there were problems (which there weren't).

We had a fantastic stay here - great venue for a group catch-up, facilities were good (including combinations of double and twin rooms for extra flexibility), and a great location for walks and getting out into the countryside.

Owners living nearby were super helpful with check-in and any queries.

Lovely conversion, plenty of space to accommodate our large party for a family occasion.

Great layout with a large farmhouse kitchen, and lounge on the first floor. Location is great if you love walking, a 10-15 minute drive to local towns. Pub was approx 1 mile away, hilly walk down a quiet lane, great food and drinks available at very affordable prices. We would definitely return if visiting the area with a large group.

We had 11 adults in our party and the location, host and venue was perfect for our weekend away.

We never felt on top of each other with ample space to escape if needed and with 4 showers there was never a queue for the bathroom. From the moment we arrived we all agreed it was perfect and the 007 pictures on the walls were an added bonus to our themed weekend. It was equipt with everything we needed. The table which seats 12 was perfect for meals and card games. The scenery and surroundings are beautiful, and although the weather wasn’t brilliant, we did manage a walk to The Queens Arms at Taddington for Sunday Lunch which I would also recommend. I would not hesitate in recommending the barn and would love to return if we had a similar event planned.

Thank you for such a lovely stay!

As a group of 10 adults, this accommodation was perfect for a weekend get-together. It was super well-equipped and had plenty of space for us all. We all had a great weekend.

We had a wonderful stay.

The location and accommodation was fantastic. It would have been good to have a washing machine, but it's a minor point. Otherwise, the place was great and the hosts were extremely friendly and helpful.

We had a wonderful stay at this holiday cottage.

It’s set in beautiful surroundings, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The cottage itself was lovely – clean, comfortable, and full of charm. We’d happily come back again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful break.

The owners' of the property live next door and were very helpful and attentive in answering questions about the equipment, the surrounding area and places to eat.

Though a litle isolated, there are wonderful views and there's easy vehicular access to areas of interest in the Peak District and lots of welll signposted paths for walkers and cycists.

Lovely house.

Many positives, good quality furnishings, light and airy. Plenty of cooking utensils and crockery too. Great location for walking. The stair gate is a great idea as we had toddlers, but it was easily opened by our 16 month old. Fridge space is a limited for the size of the property. Great to have outdoor space shame it is not clear on the listing it is not directly out of the property. Despite the above we would recommend the property to others. Thank you.

We had a wonderful stay at The Barn for a family get together, it was well situated for exploring the area.

The Barn is well equipped and hosts we're great at replying to a few questions we had before arrival.

Lovely cottage, renovated to a high standard.

Great for a group of people, bedrooms and bathrooms. Also large sofa for all to sit together. Owners were lovely and helpful. Great location for visiting local area Would recommend and stay there again

Lovely, comfortable house.

Generally well provided. The outside facility could be improved, no shade and old furniture. Possibly remove tvs from bedrooms and have a bigger tv in lounge?

Very well equipped and well maintained.

Welcoming, very helpful host. An excellent spot for walking/ cycling and handy for local pubs.

A very nice property in a beautiful area!

Great for walking from the door! Very cozy and warm! Would recommend!

This property is a gem, everything you could possibly need for an extended family gathering.

Super clean, thoughtfully equipped, warm and spacious with very comfy mattresses. The large table in the kitchen provided lasting memories of eating, playing games and art sessions. Location was perfect if you want that total get away feeling but close enough to towns and attractions.

11 of us stayed at Broadway Barn to celebrate my husbands 80th birthday.

We had a wonderful time in this beautiful, well equipped, cosy barn conversion. The owner was extremely welcoming and helpful. Couldn’t recommend it more highly!

Beautiful house and stunning walks from the doorstep.

Fabulous!

Friendly clean very well equipped accommodation.

Highly recommended for families of all ages The owner is very close and extremely friendly and helpful .

Broadway Barn was a wonderful base for our walking group of 10 people, situated in a beautiful location with excellent facilities, providing a warm and comfortable return from the many walks which are available straight from the door or a little further afield.

We were a party of 12 aged from pensioners to 16, plus an infant and each of us expressed our enjoyment of the house, the setting, the pasture, where we enjoyed a BBQ and space to run around.

and the welcome the owners extended to us. They helped to make our stay most memorable.

The owners are lovely, and really helpful.

The location is fabulous, set among upland farms, with walks in all directions including to the local pub. The property just worked for us - 8 of us from 6 different households - plus a bench outside looking over the vale, and a small field with picnic bench, great for dogs

The building was very well appointed and in a lovely part of the country.

All the local people we met were friendly.

A superb barn conversion!

Carefully thought out so perfect for a large family of ages from 70+ to 11years old. Advantage of having lots of accessible walks from the cottage door including the Monsal trail. Perfect break for all of us and very welcoming hosts.

Everything was there that was needed.

Very clean and tidy.

We had a fantastic stay at Broadway Barn to celebrate a significant birthday with all the family.

The property was clean, spacious, toasty warm and a most comfortable place to spend a weekend. It was very well-equipped too and tastefully furnished & decorated throughout. As it is surrounded by beautiful countryside, we also loved the fact that there were plenty of walks right on the doorstep and we found two friendly pubs in The Angler's Rest and The Queen's Arms, also within walking distance. I would definitely recommend a stay in Broadway Barn - a real gem of a find for family and large group getaways.

We were a party of 7 adults, 3 children under 7, one baby and a dog.

Flexible sleeping arrangements suited us well, well equipped kitchen provided plenty of cooking pans and utensils for all meals. And plenty of plates, cutlery, mugs etc for everyone. Dish washer was heavily used! The field near the house is a useful play area for younger children to let off steam and the local area provides plenty of opportunities for walking, cycling, running and providing entertainment for the children, Lydgate farm is set in stunning countryside. We had bikes and lots of walking/wellington boots, space was a bit cramped for all that equipment. No washing machine is a disadvantage that has to be planned for.

The property was lovely - warm, welcoming, spotlessly clean - and met all our requirements.

My group of ladies who have a reunion once a year would happily come back again. Thank you!

It was an amazing weekend for us all, lovely hospitality and somewhere we'd love to visit again.

We were made to feel welcome and settled, and even though the weather was cold, the Barn was beautifully warm. Definitely worth a visit.

The barn has great facilities to host a big group.

The beds were comfortable and the king doubles had so much floor space. The kitchen was well equipped with kitchen bits to cook everything and had plenty of plates cutlery cups etc. we also had plenty of parking space for 5 cars. Would definitely return!

Great location for exploring The Peak District.

Very comfortable, extremely clean and homely. There were 10 of us, plus 3 dogs and the house coped really well with the numbers.

Owner was very friendly.

..cottage was well equipped and comfortable.parking was easy and the paddock was good for the dogs..a great stay overall..local pubs were welcoming, food hearty and good pricing ..a great stay

A lovely barn with comfortable rooms- fabulous for a big group.

the location is fabulous down a quiet road with good access to local walks. All cooking facilities present and a large range style cooker. No garden but the kids had the use of a small paddock close by for football & games which had a bench for adults. Parking is for 3 cars just behind the property. The living areas although adequate were not a spacious as other properties of this size, and there is no laundry/ washing/ drying facilities- which would leave been helpful. However, overall a lovely property.

We had a lovely stay the owner was very welcoming and approachable the property was spacious and comfortable we came on a 40th birthday family gathering it was ideal and would definitely return.

Three families with teenagers thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Broadway Barn.

The sleeping accommodation, kitchen, dining table and lounge area were all perfect for our needs and everything was superb quality. The two double bedrooms were very spacious with lovely en suites and there would be ample room for multiple babies and toddlers in the double rooms as well (although that wasn't what we needed). Mrs Tibbles kindly left milk and biscuits plus all of the hand wash, dishwasher tablets, tea towels, cloths etc. that we would need. The barn was spotlessly clean on arrival and there were plenty of showers and the all important WiFi for the teenagers (and adults). We cooked a full roast dinner for 11 using the oven and kitchen equipment. There were plenty of oven trays, serving dishes, plates, cutlery, glasses, a large 6 cup insulated coffee cafetiere, teapot, two kettles, four slice toaster - I could go on. The only things we could have wished for is slightly better weather and a hairdryer but you can always bring your own. We will be back!

Perfect property and location for a large family break

Superb property and excellent facilities.

Lovely walks into Monsal Dale and we used the trail for a big bike ride too! The cottage has everything you need and is very comfortable. It was very sunny and a place to sit out would be an extra bonus.

what a great weekend we had at Broadway barn.

Host was lovely , couldn't do enough to make our stay perfect. Exceptionally clean and well maintained property in a perfect location for walks and tourist attractions. Plenty of space to accommodate all eleven of the family and dog. Would highly recommend.

Gorgeous property in a gorgeous location.

Well stocked, clean, comfortable and incredibly helpful hosts. Child friendly too and caters well for babies and children. Would recommend to anyone.

Great cottage perfect for a big get together, would really recommend 5 star

Lovely property in a lovely setting

Really lovely Barn that is well equipped and has wonderful hosts, I would highly recommend for family and friends get togethers.

Superb accommodation every thing there you need the whole family had a wonderful Christmas thank you

We absolutely loved our stay.

We had everything we needed, the barn was beautifully decorated and really cosy and warm despite the cold weather outside. Perfect scenery for our family celebration and cannot fault the hosts or property. Thank you!

We had the most amazing time at Broadway Barn for our fake Christmas celebration!

The cottage was perfect for what we needed and the owners so friendly, welcoming and accommodating! Hoping to be back next year as we can’t imagine a better place to be! Would recommend to anyone!

What a wonderful property.

Very comfortable, perfect for our weekend away. Kitchen is very well equipped nothing had been forgotten. Owner very hospitable. Will definately be back.

We had a lovely stay at Broadway Barn, a special family birthday get together, from 3 different areas of the country.

Very warm and comfortable property with everything you could possibly need. We enjoyed an excellent takeaway one night from nearby Queens Arms at Taddington.

The family had a great time for a gathering within reach of members coming from Manchester, York, London and Kent.

Beautiful location, which the dogs enjoyed as well. The only suggestions we have would be that it would have been good to be able to recycle stuff and it would be wonderful if it had an electric car charging point!

The mattresses were softer than a couple of us were used but otherwise we were very pleased and would consider booking the property again if we are back in the area.

The property was a perfect place for a family get-together, with excellent rooms and facilities.

There are also many local attractions to visit and multiple restaurants and pubs serving food. We will definitely be back at some point

Lovely place with gorgeous walks that start right from the property.

Perfect for big groups and was a great bonus that we could bring our dogs too! They loved it. The location is quite central in the Peak District area and it was only a 10minute drive away from a Supermarket.

Fabulous property in a lovely location.

Extremely well equipped kitchen. Excellent provision of cleaning products. Comfortable lounge area. Good provision of amenities including Wi-Fi. Good information providing all necessary information. Great showers. We were a party of 6 and there was plenty of room. The cottage sleeps 12 - more than 8 adults would be a bit cramped. Beds ok but downstairs double bed reported as not very comfortable. Overall a brilliant property for a large party.

Well-equipped house in a beautiful location.

We particularly enjoyed using the outside space. The owner was very welcoming and helpful. There are some lovely walks from the property.

Our stay this weekend for my mums 60th birthday was great.

We had 8 adults and 4 small children and 2 dogs and there was ample for all of us. The stair gate at the top of the stairs was a god send to keep the kids and dogs safe. The kitchen was very well stocked with anything you could have needed (and we made full roast dinner, puddings, English breakfast for 12) The only thing we couldn't find was a measuring jug. The paddock available for our use was great for taking the dogs out to play. Both Buxton and Bakewell were local with lots to do. The owners were on site and very helpful with anything we needed.

Really welcoming and friendly owner.

Really well equipped property had everything that we needed to hand. Lovely and warm property despite it being mid-January and freezing cold outside. Well thought out bedrooms, with lots of space if you have 2 families for privacy. Great location and very beautiful.

Excellent!

A warm welcome from a very helpful host. Beautifully clean and well decorated. We all said we would definitely book this cottage again!

Super place- owners just across the yard and helpful.

Cracking views and well appointed accommodation

A very spacious, comfortable house perfect for a family gathering.

.very well equipped and the whole house had been completed to q high standard Excellent location with beautiful walks nearby.

Wonderful stay with the family and children at Broadway Farm.

The property is in a beautiful setting and easy drive to all the local attractions. We did the monsal trial, bakewell, crich tramways, Matlock bath and Derwent Reservoir. The house is warm, very clean, supplied with all the essentials, plenty of towels were provided and great communal spaces. We felt very in at home in the barn. The only downside was the size of the fridge for the number of guests/bedrooms the fridge was not big enough and there was no washing machine, which with four children for a week was a bit of a struggle. However both these minor details would not stop us from returning.

Welcoming and helpful owners, lovely setting, great interior.

Fantastic for a family get together.

Really helpful with local places to see and visit.

The property was out standing not just only the sunrise and the views.

Owner very accommodating.

Fabulous building and location.

We loved it here, had an amazing time ,there were 11 of us six children aged from five to ten.

There is a field where they can play which they loved, the Barn had enough space for us and lovely bedrooms and bathrooms, probably the only downside was no washing machine and when it rained and the children got muddy it was difficult to get things clean and dry,but it wasn’t to much of a problem. We loved it there .

The barn was well equipped for the number of people.

The interior was very good and well maintained. The location was excellent for dog walkers but you need to drive to shops which are a few miles away. Buxton and Bakewell were within easy reach. The Monsal Trail is good for walking and hiring bikes. Lovely scenery.

Lovely peaceful location and perfect for a large family and friends gathering.

Lovely host.

The stay was made extra special by the tiny details like a bit of milk in the fridge and nice coffee out when we arrived. Stunning scenery great for walks and a nice field just beside the barn to play games

With 3 toddlers a dog and a baby in very rainy and muddy conditions we were very disappointed to find there were no washing and drying facilities at the barn.

It is something that is badly needed. It needs to be pointed out to prospective renters. Otherwise everything else you could wish for is there.

Fantastic place for large groups or family get togethers, we had a great time.

The property was warm and cosy and there was plenty of room for us all. The facilities were really good, a home from home. We hope to come back again soon.

This was our third visit to Broadway Barn.

My 6 female friends and l treat ourselves to a relaxing (man free!) break every year and this is the perfect place! Spacious, clean, comfortable and well laid out. The underfloor heating keeps it cosy and comfy beds to snuggle into each night. Despite a cold wet November weekend, we had a fabulous time away from the rat race in this top class accommodation. Very helpful hosts are nearby should you need anything, but are in no way intrusive. Looking forward to our fourth visit!

The barn was lovely - spacious, clean and came equipped with everything you may need.

The extra little touches such as milk and biscuits left for us, dvds and games to keep the kids entertained. I would highly recommend Broadway barn.

Fabulous Barn so comfortable.

This is our 4th or 5th year. So lovely, lovely very helpful couple, Tina and Paul who own the Barn are always available if we need anything.

This was a wonderful place for us to have a 12 person family get together.

We were blessed with fantastic weather but everything was great - and our host was superb, very helpful and kind. If we have another opportunity for a holiday of this kind we would definitely consider revisiting! Faultless!

Beautifully converted and equipped barn in lovely situation.

Owners couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. We were a family group of 12 staying for a week and with different dietary needs so a larger or extra fridge would have been most welcome as would a washing machine to cope with clothes for an active holiday.

Had a lovely break in Derbyshire.

Second time we have stayed at Broadway Barn. Great place to stay. Owners both friendly and helpful. Thank you.

There were 12 of us and we had a fantastic time at Broadway Barn.

The accomodation was exceptionally clean in beautiful surroundings. We could not fault it and would definitely recommend. It.

The location is superb, with excellent views and magnificent walks both from the accommodation and a very short car ride away.

There was so much to do without having to travel very far. The accommodation was good and the general layout very impressive. However, the drawback of the mezzanine floor of the living room meant that there was no quite zone within the house: something we all need from time to time especially when accompanied by 4 excited grand children without having to retire to ones bedroom! However, this would not put us off booking again some time in the future. The directions given to get to the house were faultless, and the welcome pack of tea, milk and biscuits gratefully received.

Wonderful place to visit and a beautiful barn conversion too!

The owner was a delightful lady where nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended!

Excellent cottage to celebrate a diamond wedding anniversary.

Lovely setting with walks from the doorstep. Good Sunday lunch at the Anglers Rest.

We had a great time at Broadway Barn.

It was a great size and equipped with everything you need. Owners were helpful and welcoming without being intrusive. I would definitely recommend.

Excellent for walks from the door.

Great property for large groups.

Kitchen well equipped for cooking meals and plenty of bathrooms and toilets. No garden or outdoor area to use for the house but set in the gorgeous Peak District so plenty of outdoors to explore.

Mrs Tibbles was very friendly and accommodating.

The barn was suberb. Well equipped and fitted out to a very high standard. Will definitely be going back.

The accommodation was warm especially after the temperature plummeted and icicles were forming on the chimney.

Great location for walks. Landlord was friendly and accommodating.

This cottage is really lovely, it has everything you need, is well equipped and in a beautiful location.

The only negative is that it advertises free WiFi but the WiFi doesn’t work at all.

Tina and Paul are really helpful and friendly.

This is the third year we have stayed here, best decision we ever made to stay for a week after doing the Bakewell Show. Gives chance to have catch up with friends and relaxation.

What a beautiful cottage We stayed for a long weekend with friends and had the best time Facilities perfect and it had everything you could want and more We all enjoyed it and will come again Thank you Mrs Tibbles

Property living space was very cramped for the potential 12 guests.

( bedroom and bathroom space was very good) We had 10 and it was v difficult managing in narrow kitchen diner and fridge space was inadequate. The photos did show lack of space so we should have been prepared! Probably adequate for 8 guests max. However the barn is well equiped and spotlessly clean and in beautiful location.

One issue - I had failed to book 3 nights, only 2 before realising 3 nights came as the package price.

(My error). When I rang to book the Monday too the Operative said there would be a £35 admin charge. I certainly wasn’t prepared to pay. As it happens when the weekend was here and I received the Barn owners contact no it was fine.

A fantastic place to stay.

Very well planned and thought out. Very well equipped kitchen. Good for young children. Good stair gate at top of stairs. Great to have so many toilets and showers. Warm and comfortable. Lovey location. Fantastic amount of local information in the property. Local walks etc. The owner was very helpful and welcoming. Easy to get to Bakewell and Buxton.

Property was perfect for a family weekend celebration.

Everyone was highly complimentary about it, and about the location, which was superb. Thank you, Mr and Mrs Tibbles.

The barn was beautiful and completely exceeded our expectations.

We had a lovely stay in the property, and loved the surrounding area. It was really nicely furnished and comfortable, and had everything we needed, and we would definitely look to stay here again as it had absolutely everything we needed for the large group of us that went away together. Thank you for making our stay in Derbyshire so enjoyable!

Comfortable cottage, minor details like front door not easy to lock or unlock, lavotries not flushing properly.

Rest of the facilites were very good Certainly would recomend the cottage to our friends.

Always difficult to book a place when I haven't been to an area before, and Broadway Barn was fabulous!

Comfy, clean and well looked after. Beautiful location a short drive from Buxton supermarkets. Mrs Tibbles was helpful and friendly but didn't get under our feet. Lovely walk along farm tracks and paths to a fabulous country pub. Short drives to al the Peaks walks and amazing countryside.

The owners were very helpful and friendly.

Nothing was too much trouble. It was so good that before leaving we had already booked it for next year.

Broadway Barn was a perfect house for our weekend away.

It had everything we needed and was in a beautiful setting with great views. Some of our party chose to go on walks from outside the barn door and others decided to chill around the farm. Either way, a great time was had by all. If we had any negative points to make - they are that a few of the mattresses had springs which could be felt through them, and the WiFi was very weak but we were a large group and were happy entertaining ourselves. I would definitely recommend Broadway Barn and one of two of our party are considering booking it’s little sister, next door, Swallow Barn, in the future.

We were delighted by Broadway Barn, which we thought exceeded the expectations raised by reading the online description.

The Barn is ideally laid out for a group of couples (we were 4 couples and 2 singles) sharing a long weekend. It was clean and well-equipped, the Tibbles family were very friendly and helpful and the position is ideal for walking straight from the door.

Everyone loved this modern converted barn which was located in a lovely village close by to Buxton & Bakewell.

We were really lucky with the weather also which made are walks more enjoyable. Plenty of walking routes are available straight from the Barn. The kitchen has everything you need and the living room area was perfect. I would certainly come back in the future. Regards Jason

We had a very enjoyable stay.

The cottage was warm and welcoming as were the owners. Very well equipped kictchen. And very helpful owners and locals helping when we were stuck in the snow. All in all a great time was had by all.

Wow what a place, what a location!

It was everything we hoped for, clean, comfortable and well equipped. Easy to get to on main roads, and the area is stunning. Walks directly from the door. Friendly helpful owners. Will certainly return!

This cottage was amazing.

It was spacious, clean and so well equip. Out party was 10 adults, 2 children and then 1 dog and there was ample space for all of us and all our stuff. The kitchen/diner was fantastic for a family meal and the kitchen had every pan/pot/ utensil you could ever need. The living room was a really good room for us all to gather in the evening. We had such a fantastic time that we are going to book again. The area is beautiful, fantastic walks with pub stops. You can walk to the main road in about 15 mins and catch regular buses to Buxton. Can't say enough good things about this cottage, almost don't want to leave this review as it may encourage others to book but we want to keep it to ourselves! Can't wait to return!

House is very well equipped and there is lots of info provided by owners.

If there was an area to improve for stay it would be to have a washing machine put in to the property

An amazing holiday!

Me and all my friends had a swell time! We are considering booking the same cottage every year going forwards!

Absolutely fabulous accommodation.

Very clean and comfortable. Excellent facilities, well equipped kitchen with large table, bathrooms (plenty of hot water) and nice living area. Two families of 12 adults had plenty of room. Can recommend. Well placed to visit Buxton and Bakewell and we went on a lovely walk starting at the front door.

This was our second stay in the barn.

It is in a great location, comfortable and very well equipped. We were a group of 10 ladies and the barn was a perfect venue for our weekend away. The beds were comfortable and the property was very clean. Would definitely recommend it and will visit again in the future.

The accommodation was ideal for a 'one off' family event.

We love the area but would be unlikely to need accommodation with such a large number of beds.

Excellent property, very clean & comfortable.

Very modern but cosy. Host very pleasant. We had a fabulous stay. Our one & only Criticism is the quality of the mattresses. We all slept very poorly as springs can be felt through all mattresses.

Excellent, well equipped accommodation.

Awesome part of the world for cycling, running and walking, would recommend broadway barn, 10 out of 10.

Excellent accommodation; well equipped ;plenty information provided by owner re.

things to do places to go.

Everything was perfect.

Just what we wanted it to be. Grt place in fab location. We met the owner Mrs Tibbles who was v welcoming and helpful. Wud def recomend

A wonderful holiday, the barn has been beautifully converted and is very well equipped

This cottage had everything we needed for a party of 6 adults, 4 children and 2 babies.

Couldn't fault it- very well equipped and spotless. Think we will be back again next year!

Absolutely fabulous barn, photos still don't do it justice.

Hosted a suprise 30th birthday here for my Fiance, everyone had a fantastic weekend and enjoyed the facilities and the comfort the barn had to offer. Surrounded by activities, we enjoyed go karting, Chatsworth, Bakewell and Buxton all no more than a 20 min drive away! All in all a fantastic weekend had at this beautiful barn, Thank you Tina.
