This is a quarryman’s cottage built on a steep hill close to the town centre and so we did not expect a luxurious accommodation.

The location is excellent and as long as you can climb a steep hill and the narrow stairs it is great for a short break in the Peak District. There is no parking close by so you’re best advised to park in the town and walk to the cottage.

A great property, in a fantastic location.

I found easy parking in “Barmote Croft” car park which is less than 2 minutes walk and only £6.00 per 24hrs. I only drank at the “Hope and Anchor” but thoroughly enjoyed it. The StarDisc and Carsington water are on your doorstep or a short drive away. If you like the Dales I highly recommend.
