  • "A perfect home from home."

Comfortable, spacious and beautifully decorated. Attention to detail was superb. Lovely welcome basket, well equipped kitchen, lots of supplies (tea towels, bin bags, cling film, kitchen roll, handsoap refills, logs, kindling, matches, fire lighters, board games, tea, coffee pods, salt and pepper, I could seriously go on!) Hot tub was fab, loads fluffy towels and bath robes, even plastic glasses. So much information given on the property and surrounding area. We were so impressed. These guys understand what people are looking for, the little details are so easy to do but make a huge difference. Well done, we loved it.

Thank you Katie. We aim to try and ensure that all our guests have the same wonderful experience of Beech Cottage and the area as we get to enjoy and we’re so pleased when we hear feedback like this. Hope to welcome you back again soon. Matt and Sam Property Owner

  • "Stayed here in late September, the view is absolutely incredible, the hills look different every hour, if I owned this I would rent out where I live & stay here myself!"

Bed was so comfortable.... We got home & my partner didn't sleep for three days because of how she perceived our bed to be so uncomfortable, shame we never made a note of the make of the mattress. The driveway up to the property is fine, you're told to go 10 mph, you don't need to rush so just go 10 mph. The property is closer than you think to two properties, next doors dog is absolutely no problem, she's a friendly little thing & will wait for you to tell her to come to you for a hello, she doesn't encroach unless encouraged. Never made it to the beach because the pathway was so overgrown, the sheep were munching through the weeds though. Hot Tub is in exactly the right spot & is a perfect way to end the day, only slight issue is the 10pm curfew for using it (if you think you'll use it after that time, they have it covered) log burner is nice & the sofa is comfy, the shower could be more powerful, but that is hardly a deal breaker. It's just a great place to stay to wind down & relax

Thank you Andrew. We’re so happy you enjoyed your stay and we have to agree that our favourite part of Beech Cottage is watching the view of the hills change over the day. Hope to welcome you back again soon. Matt and Sam Property Owner

Hot tub and the views were amazing. We enjoyed the walk down to the beach and walks into the wood. We would love to return.

  • "A really nice property with great views over Loch Tay, access was easy and the cottage felt welcoming on entry."

Slight problem with the access path up to the property as the scree pathway is not good for your car tyres. The cottage itself was clean and had all the facilities needed with plenty of fresh towels and kitchen equipment, but maybe take an engineer with you to work out the hob and oven hehe!!! Technology is not for us, but after much trial and error we got there !! Events at the farm next door were at a minimum, but noise levels were kept down and did not cause an issue. We would certainly go back to this cottage and would recommend it to anyone looking for that area. It's only 4 miles to Kenmore and 9 miles to Aberfeldy for restaurants, supermarkets etc. so a good location whilst peaceful and quiet to sit and enjoy the scenery.

Thank you David, we’re so pleased you had a great stay at Beech Cottage and look forward to welcoming you back. We plan on adding an information pack to our welcome book on how to use all the main appliances. Matt and Sam Property Owner

  • "We had a really lovely stay at Beech cottage."

The owners have thought of everything to make the stay comfortable. We loved the garden and hot tub. The views are amazing. I would suggest making people aware of the function space next door as there were events on most evenings that could disrupt your stay if you wanted peace and quiet.

Thank you Kelly, we’re so pleased you enjoyed your stay and were able to make the most of the views, garden and hot tub. Matt and Sam Property Owner

  • "The cottage was great and the location was fantastic."

Bedrooms were very clean and beds very comfortable. The lack of some basic things such as tea towel, washing cloth, kitchen roll we found strange as regular users of holiday cottages they are always provided. I would also like to recommend a hand rail could be fitted at front door to assist anyone with mobility issues. Overall an excellent week and would recommend this cottage for a lovely relaxing stay.

Thank you Jeanette, we’re so glad you had an excellent week at Beech. We apologise for the oversight in relation to some items, we will have this double checked in the future. We hope to welcome you back again in the future. Property Owner

  • "Lovely property in fantastic surroundings."

They have thought if everything including games to play in the evening, washing machine and amazing hot tub. You also have 2 residents next to property both with dogs who are lovely There are a couple of not so great things about the place in that if you can’t walk very far without transport you are quite isolated. The walk to the private beach is quite long and going down ok but coming back is quite exhausting. Also within the grounds is a wedding venue and the guests also can stay overnight. This can be quite noisy especially as hot tub is just the other side of guest accommodation. However with windows shut there is no noise but this could be an issue if the windows needed to be open! I will say though that our stay was in the whole a positive experience even with two weddings being held and a barn dance at the venue

Thank you Tania. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Beech Cottage and with our friendly dog neighbours! We are a little out of the way and whilst there are good local walks from the property there is quite minimal public transport across most of the Loch Tay area. The farm next door can have Scottish ceilidhs during summer wedding season, however we do have a good dialogue with the farm owner with all wedding day events expected to end at midnight and the wedding guests expected to keep noise at a conversational level after 10pm. If there are ever any issues we encourage our guests to get in touch with us which has gratefully been a rarity. We hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back again in the future! • "We were VERY DISAPPOINTED."

The first thing to greet us when we entered the property was a hoover FULL of other peoples dirt. There was an unpleasant smell. There was grass and grit under rack on right hand side as you come in door. Dust on chairs in snug. Dust around both sofas, you could see the dust under living room sofa from standing in kitchen. The end cushion fell off the sofa and I was disgusted by what was under it. Chrome light switches were dirty from other peoples fingers. Windows were dirty. Dirty smear marks left from a dirty cloth on tv and wardrobes. Dust and food splatters on tiles beside internet and the socket for this was covered in dust. I had to clean the fridge and a cupboard before I put our food in it. There was no way I was going to use the microwave as it was filthy. There was quite a bit of oil spillage in one cupboard. Cutlery drawer has loads of crumbs in it. Food on door of cupboard under the sink.I Had to clean the kettle and toaster. I cleaned 2 of everything we were going to need and kept in on the work top and just used those. The cups were disgusting. I had to clean the bath and it’s just a matter of time before someone goes through it. The basin tap is very stiff we were worried it was going to break and the toilet roll holder is rusty. The bathroom and front bedroom really could be doing with a paint. We could not get normal to channels on the tv, the news and weather was for Cumbria not Perthshire. Th tv is high up on the wall and the sofa has no neck support so it is very uncomfortable to watch the tv. Also be careful when lighting the stove as the curtain is touching it

We are really sorry to hear your stay at Beech Cottage did not meet your expectations. As demonstrated through our previous positive reviews, we expect a high standard of cleanliness. Our cleaning company has always met this standard previously so we are disappointed that this did occur on this occasion. We will ensure our high standards continue to be met going forward. We regret that you did not get in touch with us or Sykes during your week long stay. As we noted in our check in message sent prior to your arrival, we welcome guests to get in touch with us with any questions or concerns so we can quickly investigate and rectify any issues. Whilst the issues should not have occurred, had we been aware we would have ensured that any issues were immediately addressed on your arrival. We apologise that some of our facilities did not meet your expectations. As we are in a rural area, terrestrial TV is unreliable so we offer three WiFi connected smart TVs with access to all popular streaming applications and a large selection of free to use live channels via WiFi, including national and international news channels. We will endeavour to create a how-to pack for using the smart televisions for any guests who may be unfamiliar with their use. All curtains are fully fire and heat retardant and the property complies with all fire safety regulations. As a new holiday rental we appreciate all feedback and as owners will endeavour to rectify any issues within our means quickly for our future guests during their stay at Beech. Property Owner

  • "The property was in wonderful condition and there was nothing missing."

The location is perfect for a peaceful and relaxing holiday. It is clear that a great deal of thought has gone into creating a pleasant and accommodating holiday home, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Despite arriving on the weekend of some of the worst floods in living memory, the cottage was unaffected and there was plenty to keep one occupied.

We’re thrilled you enjoyed your time at Beech Cottage and we’re glad that you managed to make the most of the house and the area despite the initial weather! We really appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you back again in the future. Property Owner

About the location

KENMORE

Aberfeldy 6 miles, Pitlochry 20 miles, Dunkeld 24 miles.

The village of Kenmore sits at the eastern end of Loch Tay where the River Tay flows out of the loch and dates from the 16th century. Originally built on the north side of the river, the village was moved in mid-sixteenth century to accommodate a castle being built on the north shore. The relocation gave the village its current name reflecting its position on a large headland: Kenmore – ‘large head’ in Gaelic. It is Loch Tay that makes Kenmore such a popular tourist draw today with the many watersports, fishing, hillwalking and cycling activities on and around the loch. Why not visit the Scottish Crannog Centre and discover an ancient way of life in a reconstructed thatched house on stilts? Built on the loch and able to repel danger with the aid of a retractable gangway, these houses provide a fascinating insight into ancient civilisations. The village has shops, a couple of hotels and a restaurant and with the attractive towns of Aberfeldy, Pitlochry and Dunkeld nearby, the tourist is very well provided for. The area is famous for its truly spectacular scenery and whether you are on the water, in the hills or in the shops, Kenmore can provide a stunning backdrop to a very pleasant break.
