  • "This was a wonderful holiday home in which me and my family were able to stay."

My little boy loved to go and visit the animals every morning by walking up the driveto whwre they were all kept. Jill was the best host and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and ensure our stay was comfortable. She was always on hand should you need anything. I would 100% recommend this cottage to stay on. It was spacious and enabled me and my family a lovely home to make our own for the week

It was a pleasure to meet you all. Especially the little one ! We would welcome you back at any time. Very Best wishes to you all From Gill &family Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely week on this very quiet farm setting."

Comfortable beds and peaceful setting ensured a good nights sleep. Jill made us very welcome and went out of her way to help us. She gave us a good recommendation for a local pub. Friendly and excellent food. Nice food hamper with lots of goodies. The area had much to offer from National Trust gardens / properties, St. Fagans museum and beautiful coastline. The property was very suitable for my son , who has learning disability. Level floors and a walk in shower. If you want a peaceful holiday with beautiful scenery , this is for you.

Many thank's for your lovely feedback. It was a pleasure to meet you especially (Charlie) Thank you so much for leaving the cottage spotlessly clean . We would welcome you back at any time. Very best wishes Gill & family. Property Owner

  • "A real gem of a find, very peaceful and quiet but not far from amenities."

It is well maintained and spotlessly clean. Tasteful decor and furnishings. Very comfortable beds and good quality bed linen and towels..Well prepared for our arrival with fresh flowers and a welcome basket which were much appreciated. The very friendly and helpful owners live close by and were unobtrusive but there when we needed them, giving good advice about places to visit in the area and directions. An excellent property and we highly recommend it. Hope to return in the future.

  • "Not clearly signed where the cottage was so was driving around trying to find it."

Once arrived the owner never realised we had arrived. After owner saw us she gave us a guided tour. Once we where all in, the kids saw soo many spider webs and big spiders. Firstly we had to move them but everywhere we turned there was another spider and another web. Whether it be in the sealing corners or floor corners. Behind bedside tables ontop of wardrobes...everywhere. There where also woodlice inside the property. Ants outside the front entrance and all over the recycling bags. There was lots of dust ontop of the books with webs, on the bathroom heater and behind the sink taps. Had to ask for WiFi password. Having 4 young kids not doing as they where told. Trying to pack and sort house put to how it was, we got late by 30 minutes and the owner was not happy. What she said was 'did you forget the departure time was 10am' to which I replied 'no but having 4 kids it was difficult'. The house was empty all we had to do was put the bags in the car. Not once did she ask how our stay was? or say have a safe journey home or did you enjoy your stay? They could have started one end instead of being abit grumpy!

What a shame that you did'nt phone prior to your arrival as requested in your written details from Sykes. We are always on hand to help with directions etc, particularly as we have ( For EVERY ONES SECURITY ) electric gates and a code is required to enter the property! In this case we opened the gates manually as we had not heard from the visitor. On their arrival they did not wait to find out where they should have collected the key etc, (our own home is just opposite ) but just went on into the cottage . I am always on hand for visitors arriving to show them around & offer information . The location is"countryside", & in all honesty creatures such as spiders etc, will often be present however this cottage is cleaned to the highest standard before all arrivals and the building is stone built with high beamed ceilings , nothing unusual for a countryside cottage in a rural setting. The sink taps are not only cleaned they are polished ,so I would very much doubt that cobwebs were present in that area . " 10: 0am " IS DEPARTURE TIME , ALL VISITOURS ARE ADVISED OF THIS ON ARRIVAL. To make sure all areas are clean to the highest standard we need our visitors to vacate at this time, so that we are ready for the next family to arrive Property Owner

  • "The cottage was situated in a lovely quite place, looking out the back of the property was green fields and waking up watching the Cows munching on the grass."

The entrance was gated, nice feeling of privacy, owners live on site were charming and helpful, everything you need in the Cottage home from home very comfortable. Loved the horse's, chickens and ducks walking around the long driveway. Llantwit Major is a very interesting village with a walk looking for the blue placks on the buildings, beach nearby with a wonderful cliff walk, with lovely sunsets. Plenty of places to visit for short drive's.

  • "We are a family of 4 with two small children (4&2) and came to enjoy South Wales with some friends."

We had a wonderful time on holiday here. The cottage is lovely and had everything we needed, it is conveniently located with the nearby town of Llantwit Major offering practical amenities and plenty of woods, beaches and castles in the area to explore. The family that operate the cottage are on site and are all lovely and helpful, great with the kids and gave us some great recommendations of places to visit all thew while ensuring our stay was going well (even offering one of the paddocks for me to set up my telescope, unfortunate I never had a clear enough sky for it). Some things we did if you are after ideas, in no particular order: Ogmore Beach, Ogmore Castlem Porthcawl beach and arcades, Forrest Fawr, Southerndown Beach and Dunraven bay/castle. Some of the other stuff we wanted to do was closed due to Covid but there was more than enough to exhaust the kids on a daily basis. We look forward to returning to enjoy more of this wonderful slice of the country and we'd certainly stay here again when we do return. Thank you for a great stay!
