  • "A beautiful place in a stunning setting."

We stayed in Owl Lodge and it was just perfect, it is set in a lovely location and the views are stunning. We arrived quite late in the evening and it was dark so we couldn't appreciate the views until the morning, wow it was so nice to wake up to those views. You can see Glastonbury Tor and it was beautiful to see the changing weather coming over the countryside and to see the sunrise. The lodge itself is lovely and has everything you need, the beds are so comfortable and we slept so well and it was also so peaceful. The owners Jo and Neil have thought of everything and it was lovely to meet them and they also invited us to view the Sea Harrier that they own, wow I highly recommend seeing this as it's not every day you get to see one so close and you can also sit in the cockpit. It was so lovely to see the animals too, alpacas, sheep and ponies. We also got to meet their dog which was so nice. The hot tub was an added bonus and we loved coming back from day trips and then relaxing in there, Jeffrey the alpaca was usually eating the grass in front of us. It was also lovely to view the night sky at the same time, the sky was so clear and the stars so bright. We would highly recommend staying here you won't be disappointed. Thank you Jo and Neil for our wonderful stay, I'm sure we will be back. Karen and Steve.

  • "A delightful place which would like to go back to."

There was everything that we needed supplied by the friendly owners. We had many interesting places to visit and we particularly liked Wedmore as a nearby village. I think the four of us would have been happy to just stay in the lodge and not necessarily need to travel about. The hot tub was a bonus. Who needs the beach?

The lodge had everything you needed including comfortable beds, which is always a bonus. The owners are very nice and friendly and totally under selling the place, wonderful stay.

  • "Had a lovely 3 night stay in Owl lodge."

It was immaculate inside and out with beautiful views….including the Shetland pony’s, Alpaca,s and sheep. It was so peaceful and you really couldn’t want for anything more. Jo and Neil popped by to invite us to look at their Harrier jump jet!! An absolute treat! and we were told so much information about it ( I even climbed up into the cockpit). The only downside was that England didn’t win the Euros but it definitely didn’t stop us enjoying our stay. Thanks Jo and Neil

So peaceful but close to place's in and around Somerset. The host were so friendly. You had everything you needed. The space outside the lodge is great for children. My 2 year old grandson loved going for a walk and seeing the animals. The hot tub was amazing.

  • "Incredible lodge with everything you could possibly need for your stay."

Neil and Jo are terrific hosts and are approachable and friendly. The views from Owl lodge are breathtaking and it is bliss to sit and hear nothing but the birds singing and the horses, sheep and alpacas munching grass at the bottom of the garden and to watch the swifts’ aerial acrobatics. The cherry on the top for me was the complete Sea Harrier which served in the 1982 Falklands conflict. What a dream come true not only to see one of these rare beauties but to actually sit in the cockpit. Incredible break away, a massive thank you Neil and Jo.

So peaceful and tranquil, Gorgeous setting away from the hustle and bustle and noise but close enough to get to busier built up tourist destinations. The hot tub was a great size with the same view. Neil was happy to show and let the family sit in the cockpit of his sea harrier which he is renovating. The only contact I had with Jo was on the phone who seemed equally lovely. My grandchildren loved the animals particularly the miniture horses. Overall a great holiday, fantastic lodge enjoyed by us all.

  • "How do you define beauty, peace and tranquility?"

The answer is easy it’s Owl Lodge and all the wonderful countryside that surrounds it. I cannot put into words just how perfect Owl Lodge is, I don’t think I have ever felt more relaxed and at peace. This would not be possible of course without the wonderful Neil and Jo who own this amazing property, such lovely people and so welcoming. Then there is the added bonus of Billy and Rosie, Neil and Jo’s dogs who bought their own little piece of joy and happiness every morning. We will miss it so much but we will never forget all the happy memories we have left with. Thank you so much Neil and Jo, we will be back xxx

  • "We had a lovely stay at this beautiful, peaceful lodge."

Jo and Neil are excellent hosts and there if needed. Billy the dog is now a lifelong friend, what a lovely gentle dog he is. The lodge is almost new so two tiny improvements, a towel rail in the kitchen, heated if possible and some drawer space in the master bedroom which would be tricky given the sloping roof but I am sure there is a solution. We will most definitely look to visit again, perhaps when the starlings are murmurating.

The property

This luxurious lodge, which is one of four identical properties rests amidst open countryside, gazing idyllically over the Somerset levels with spectacular views of Glastonbury Tor.

Just a mile outside the village of Wedmore, Owl Lodge offers a tranquil escape for families and couples looking to experience the beauty of Somerset.

The focal point of the property is the open-plan living area, boasting a fully fitted kitchen, with light flooding in from bi-folding doors that bring the outdoors in.

Serve the fruits of your labour at the dining table or take the evening outside to the patio furniture, providing an idyllic countryside backdrop whilst you tuck into a home-cooked dish.

After a long day, retire on the sumptuous sofa and catch up on your favourite shows from the Smart TV or take advantage of the outdoor hot tub as you soothe your muscles with a long soak.

There are three wonderful bedrooms at this rural retreat; upstairs there is a king-size room with an en-suite, while downstairs there is a king-size and children's bunk bedroom which share a fully fitted wet room.

To the outside and at one end of the garden fence are Percy, Albert and Jeffrey the alpacas, and Minnie and Dottie the miniature horses.

Set within a rural location, with amazing views of the surrounding countryside, you’ll make the most of fantastic walks or cycle rides in the immediate area.

Ramble through the Somerset levels, Mendip Hills and Polden Hills or take a scenic drive up to the stunning Cheddar Gorge where you can see cathedral-like caves home to 9000 years of human history.

Family days out to Puxton Adventure Park, Longleat Safari Park, Brean Leisure Park and Brean Water Park are recommended, or why not have some fun at Cheddar Crazy Golf while you’re there and visit The Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company for a cheese souvenir from the birthplace of Cheddar!

The nature reserves at Westhay and Shapwick Heath are a must for birdwatchers while Wells Cathedral and Glastonbury Abbey provide the cultural heritage of the area.

Street is nearby for those looking for a designer bargain at Clarks Village and a visit to Somerset wouldn't be complete without a visit to Thatchers Cider with its restaurant and shop, or the more rustic experience of Wilkins Cider Farm just down the road.

Taunton, Bath and Bristol are all reachable by car and provide the perfect choice for day trips.

The owners even have their very own attraction, a Sea Harrier jump jet for you to sit in.

In such a great location, Owl Lodge is perfect for couples and families all year round.
