  • "Lovely cottage in small quiet village just outside Pembroke."

Owners live next door and are very helpful and freindly, quickly sorted out a small issue with hot water, even lent us some flour and a mixer when wife decided to make yorkshire puds. Pembroke castle very good with excellent cafe, st clements cake best ever had, Carew castle 15 min drive good, Castle Henllys iron age fort 1 hr drive small but interesting. Barafundle beach 15 min drive, small and an uphill walk to get to then down steps, beach small. Freshwater west beach 15 min drive, much longer than Barafundle, good ffor walking dogs, a must see for Harry Potter fans to see Dobbys grave. Really enjoyed our stay Sepr 2024.

The cottage is really well equipped with everything you would need and the attention to detail is exceptional. I loved the layout and parking was a few steps away from the front door so easy to load and unload luggage. Great modern bathroom and kitchen. The artwork on the walls was inspirational for planning days out and there were plenty of books on the local landscape, walks and attractions to feed your explorer gene! I met Liz briefly but knowing she was next door should anything go wrong, was reassuring (it didn’t!). I highly recommend Cranford, it was a perfect retreat after a long coastal walk!

Liz and Dai are perfect hosts. Helpful and kind without being intrusive. The annex is top notch, like a show home, with all the amenities you would expect. A super comfortable double bed and lashings of hot water. It is located in a nice quiet village, but just a short car ride from pembroke Town, including the castle. I went on a boat ride to Skomer Island, which is a nature reserve for birds, including puffins and skewers, fabulous. There are numerous beautiful walks, and beach destinations in the area, and the cottage has ample information books, maps and leaflets to help you plan your activities. Liz and Dai are always on hand in case you get stuck or need any advice. Loved it.

  • "This cottage is fine for two people."

We would just like to point out that the TV reception was so bad at times you could not watch it. But the main problem was the place was cold. There was one electric storage heater which only came on morning and evening for a while. In the evening it was cold we used the electric fire fan heater but we were still cold. There were heaters in the bedroom and kitchen but they did not work. Our stay would have been much more enjoyable if we had of been warmer.

I’m sorry to hear you were still cold after we showed how to work the electric fire. It’s a small annexe, only suitable for 2 people and one dog and usually very warm. There are actually 3 night storage heaters in the annexe ( a very large one in the living area plus the wall mounted electric fire, one in the kitchen area and one in the bedroom) plus the new full length heated towel rail in the bathroom. They heat the property throughout the day and were set at 22degrees. I can’t understand why two were apparently not working as they’d been checked by an electrician the week previously. There is also another portable heater if necessary, as I pointed out. Last week was particularly cold after the lovely weekend when you arrived and got sunburnt. Fortunately we didn’t have snow like parts of the country. I can’t understand why the tv reception was poor. If we had been notified, we could have sorted that out. I’m sorry your stay wasn’t so good but if you had let us know we would have endeavoured to resolve the problems. Property Owner

Quite location in a small village just over a mile from Pembroke town. Beaches close by with stunning views of the Welsh coastline. Lovely patio out back, sadly we were there at the end of October and could not use it but would have been great for the summer evenings. Try Sunday lunch in the pub 2 minutes walk away stunning. Will certainly recommend the property to friend's and hopefully we Will be able to return one day.
