  • "Splendid facilities and location peaceful and convenient."

A relaxing property to stay in. Angela who hosted us initially was very helpful and friendly and then the owners returned who were very nice and the whole experience was great. Perfect for walking sections of the Offas Dyke path and visiting Castles!

  • "Beautiful location, large property and a wonderful host, Geoff could not do enough for us to make us welcome on his farm."

Absolutely loved our stay. The only slight drawback was the low power shower. The roads around the property are very narrow and whilst quiet for majority of the stay, we twice came across tractors with trailers which meant we had to reverse quite a distance in the lane to allow them to pass. If you are not confident reversing your car, this might be a problem. Would we return, you bet your life we would, such a tranquil location.

Lovely people. Water pressure is a problem due to rural situation which does affect the shower power but Welsh Water like seemingly all water authorities are not easy to make improvements. Property Owner

  • "This cottage can't fail to disappoint for its quiet location."

The area is beautiful, the lanes, although narrow, have passing places and nowhere near as bad as we expected having read comments. It might be advisable to go on Streetview to familiarise yourself with the location of the entrance to the drive as the name of the adjoining owners house is small. There were,as other guests have mentioned previously, some issues that still need addressing. The shower in Bedroom 1 needs replacing, as it is not much more than a dribble. The small rugs on the floors are trip hazards, especially the one at the top of the stairs. The garden furniture, as mentioned by a previous guest a year ago, still needs cleaning. A fresh disposable dishcloth might be a good option rather than a fabric cloth. The cottage is in an amazing location, especially for those needing a base to walk this section of Offa's Dyke and with an update it would be incredible.

The lanes which are unclassified roads ,particularly in the Spring /Summer, whether to save money or promote habitat , are narrowed by the policy of not trimming the sides by the Council. Summer does bring more Tractors and farm traffic ,bringing in the harvest but hopefully the view and peace on the farm compensate. We have now identified the "Three Words " which identify the Square at the bottom of the drive which are "event.luring.baths". Sorry about the over bath shower fitting which we have now removed since water pressure can cause problems in getting a forceful jet..There is a separate shower room /cloakroom on the ground floor with better pressure albeit limited. Garden furniture is a dropping off place for our wild birds , particularly pigeons seeking to turn black furniture ,white-sometimes we win ,sometimes they win - if they are winning please ask us to sort it. Thank you for your comments which are always helpful. Geoff Adams Property Owner

  • "Perfection."

The Granary was everything we hoped for. It truly is tucked away from everything, surrounded by peace and stars at night, perfect to rest the soul. I don't drive and it was no problem. We bought enough food and supplies to last the week so didn't need to go far afield. The Offas Dyke Walk runs straight through the farm and we thoroughly enjoyed our wet, muddy walks. Our hosts were extremely kind and showed us around the farm. Our little dog had an excellent time and enjoyed watching the squirrels. My children 14 and 9 have already asked me to book there again which I will do . Very comfortable, warm, spacious and very well equipped. Had everything we needed and more. We were sorry to leave.

  • "Lovely, comfortable stay on this working farm but still quiet."

There was the odd cobweb but this was an old property in the country and it is the time of year when spiders come in so to be expected. Owners were helpful and friendly. Surrounding roads were narrower than expected but easily passable with caution on bends and curves.

  • "This working farm, and attached cottage, are set in a most delightful part of Monmouthshire, Wales."

Once the lane system is conquered the spectacular view awaits the traveller! A Welcome Pack with tea & coffee, with milk in the fridge would have made the welcome more poignant. Thank you Sally for the opportunity to share the blessings you have!

  • "Agree with previous comments."

Its very remote and no shops on the way (if via M4 Newport) so bring all the necessities. However being remote means you are rewarded with stunning views and tranquility. Fyi Its a working farm that you are attached to. Agree also with feedback a token welcome bundle might be something to consider.

. Having said all this we found the place very comfortable with large rooms . The views were very nice and apart from the points I have mentioned we enjoyed our stay at the Grange

  • "My elderly mother and I spent a very comfortable stay at the Grange."

We lived having an en suite bedroom each. The living space and kitchen are very spacious and comfortable. The location is stunning with magnificent views. Thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the patio watching the stars and listening to the owls. It is a working farm, so also enjoyed seeing the livestock. We would certainly return to The Grange.

  • "The cottage was very clean and exceeded our expectations in all ways."

Very quite and secluded, yet reasonably convenient for getting about. The owners were very friendly, and helpful. This is definitely on the list for a re-visit.

  • "Very spacious accommodation."

Very friendly owners and visiting family who were working on the farm at the time of our visit. The sheep are also friendly lol We had great use of some of the fields to walk our dog - thank you It is placed in farm land as you would expect and you need to be aware that the lanes around are very narrow. Needed our sat nav at all times. The front steps near sliding doors of the property needs to be weeded and the outside table needs to be cleaned to be able to sit at it. The table and chairs near the kitchen are tired and a little wobbly. (Only a few things to be done to make it an even greater place to stay.) Remember to take all condiments, kitchen roll, extra toilet roll etc etc with you. Great selection of crockery and cutlery and added bonus of a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. May be the owners can put together a welcome pack with information on the property and places to visit. This would be a great addition and helpful to visitors. Overall a relaxing holiday with the sights and sounds of a working farm in a spacious well equipped property (The Granary)
