"Just returned from a short break at Plyg y Rhiw."
Our trip coincided with Storm Ciaran so we arrived with enough food, drink and firewood for our trip and battened down the hatches! We enjoyed a really relaxing couple of days and were very comfortable. The cottage was clean and had what we needed for our stay. Thank you very much for the milk, butter and Welsh cakes - very kind of you. The directions provided by Melanie were good and we found the cottage easily - not sure we would have, however, if we’d arrived in the dark. Parking was fine for large car although very muddy! Would we stay again? - very possibly.

"There are major issues with damp, black mould and mildew on the walls windows door frames, it’s very bad around the shower in the shower room, the extractor fans are very very dirty and the floors are constantly wet with damp and condensation."
The whole house needs a deep clean but this will not solve the overriding problem. One of the knobs for the hob was broken but just placed back which is a safety hazard. Also the oven racks are too small for the oven rendering it useless.

"We really enjoyed our stay, for us minor ajustments like replacing the low sofa would be an improvement, but we had everything we needed."
Many thanks.

"A tranquil location and overall a very comfortable cottage."

"No hot water or heating working on arrival."
Fixed the following day. However as the cottage had not been occupied for some time it took several days to heat to a comfortable condition. The instruction left in the property asks for heating to be set to 12 degrees when leaving but as the heating was not working this was not possible. After 2 days we noticed that the bedrooms windows were covered in mould and condensation .Due to health problems this caused our concern so we had to cut our stay short to 4 days.In general the property was a good size and well equipped but our stay was ruined by poor maintenance.

"If you are looking for seclusion then this cottage is just the place, The cottage is not disable or older people with issues friendly, The sun room we found to be a waste of a room and could be converted into a bedroom for disable people The cottage could do with a refurbish however the bedrooms where clean and the beds comfortable, the kitchen was a little small but did have everything you need even if every thing did not match."
It would have been a nice little touch if a welcome pack and an information pack had been available on arrival. Would we stay again, sorry, but no.

"I absolutely loved the setting of this cottage."
So quiet and relaxing generally, although the road is close to the house and the heavy farm machinery passing can be loud. The stream and woods within the garden were an unusual ‘facility’, so a real treat, and there were numerous walks from the house into more woods, which were very quiet. I rarely saw other walkers. The front courtyard area was enclosed but the main bit of the garden - the bit you really want to be in - was open to the road so I had to set up a garden chair barricade to allow the dog to be off lead whilst I was reading on the decking area. I was very lucky with the weather so this is where I spent most of my time, listening to the trees, water and birds. Would definitely return.

"A very comfy warm home , surrounded by Ancient Forests and rippling streams."
Well equipped, very quiet and serene. A beautiful decked area to Star Watch and listen to the rhythm of the night. I can imagine that in the summer the place is beautiful...because it was stunning in the rain. # The perfect hideaway.

"Clean, spacious, well equipped property, owner very professional and polite, as for lack of clothes drying facility, there is a clothes airer if you look."

"What an amazing cottage."
The cottage was clean, tidy and felt very cosy. The fire place is lovely and toasty when lit. The views from the garden are absolutely amazing! There's There's stream that runs near the cottage which you can hear running whilst sat on the decking. It's not to far from the quaint village of Newcastle Emlyn which has some lovely independent shops and castle ruins to explore. It is an absolutely amazing place and we can't wait to stay again!

"Not very clean."
Oven old, filthy and not working. Shower filthy. Dishes and pans filthy. No mobile signal. Too close to the road for dog. Dark, cold and dingy. Disappointed.

"A beautiful place to stay with both surfing and kayaking easily accessible."
The house was clean and cosy and the owner was really helpful. I would definitely recommend this cottage and we plan to stay again. Highlights were the stream running through the garden, lovely local walks and top surfing beaches only an hours drive away.

"Had a wonderful relaxing time, great area, great cottage"

"Property was very good, but a few points: - 1."
Garden was not suitable for children to be able to play unattended. 2. An outside clothes line would be beneficial given the amount of beach visits most attendees will make. Failing that a tumble dryer. 3. Stairs were not easy to use, an issue exacerbated by the lack of upstairs toilet. Generally a lovely cottage though.
