  • "This is our second stay at Awelfa, which is a lovely, cosy cottage, traditional in style but with modern kitchen and bathroom amenities."

The owners had decorated the cottage for us at Xmas and we were grateful for that extra touch as it felt very homely. Its location is perfect for every day walks with the dog to the beach and to the local pubs and restaurants which are virtually on your doorstep. All in all, a great place to stay.

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. It's good to hear you enjoyed your stay Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage very well equipped and maintained Great little court yard off the kitchen, shame the enclosed garden is accessed via a narrow lane off the courtyard not easy for the less mobile!"

We took a wooden dog guard to stop our dogs going upstairs which was a huge asset! Everything perfect our only moan is that due to its great location we could hear a lot of traffic from the main road through and the traffic to and from Parrog Road.

  • "A really lovely cottage, very well equipped and decorated beautifully."

We had a wonderful stay and would happily return. My only feedback would be to ensure that you advise anyone booking with a dog that they aren't allowed upstairs, prior to arrival. This was a surprise to us upon arrival and although our dog is not allowed on any furniture at home, she does have free reign of the house, so we had to baracade the stairs to ensure she didn't make her way up there. Probably worth noting on the listing for future visitors. Would highly recommend a visit to Awelfa.

  • "An exceptional property in a lovely area."

We had never been to Newport but we will certainly go back. Absolutely stunning. The photos of the property on the website simply do not do it justice, we chose here as a replacement for another property we had previously visited but couldn't get the dates to line up. It is beautiful will an exceptional spec. We would struggle to find anything negative to comment on.

  • "Fantastic stay at this wonderfully renovated property."

Warm, cosy and comfortable and right around the corner from Newport’s pubs and restaurants. Excellent location for exploring north Pembrokeshire. Beds were very comfortable, with an excellent bathroom and shower downstairs. The property is dog friendly too. We’d be happy to stay at Awelfa again. (To the owner/management) - The only drawback was the lack of a welcome package, after a long drive and late arrival there was no Welsh cakes or Bara Brith, or milk offered - the only cottage of the 4 we’ve stayed in Pembrokeshire not to offer this. It doesn’t cost a lot but leaves a great first impression and warm welcome. One to consider for future arrivals…

A very comfortable and well kitted out cottage. Lovely to sit in their garden and see the sea. Parking is no issue, always room along the Parrog Rd, not that you need to leave Newport at all! Will no doubt be back again to get our Newport fix! Joç Marchington

  • "The cottage has been beautifully renovated and appointed, with great thought given to the wide range of facilities."

It's very comfortable and cosy (in October) with quality fittings and furnishings. The information and advice provided by efficient staff at Sykes was both comprehensive and helpful. The cottage is very conveniently located in relation to the coast (5 minutes) and to the shops/pubs (3 minutes). The lack of parking was no great problem - we always parked safely within 200 yards. Newport is a very attractive centre with lots of local places to visit and explore, although you wouldn't need to use the car at all to enjoy the local coast or hills and the town's hospitality. All in all A*

Has been refurbished to a very high standard. Loved the downstairs rain shower. Cosy courtyard for morning cuppa in the sunshine (when the sun is out!). Sea view from lower grassed garden. Looked like a high spec bbq (but we didn't actually use it.) Extremely handy for shops, pubs, restaurants etc. No parking available immediately next to property, but wasn't a problem for us. Would definitely use again.
