  • "The property was very comfortable, lovely area, comfortable bed owners very helpful and solved problems quickly."

Would have liked some logs in basket and fire hadn't been cleaned out , bath panel not fixed but other than that perfect break and would love to return.

  • "Lovely cosy cottage, gorgeous bedroom."

Comfortable. Ground clearance on driveway a problem for low vehicles, in some parts. WiFi intermittent combined with poor mobile signal made planning trips tricky. Take maps! Lovely area, lots to see and do.

We agree with you about wi fi and mobile signal - we live in hope of it gradually improving - on the positive it does make it a relaxing holiday! - Property Owner

  • "Wonderful and very remote place with lots of space."

Perfect place for children with all the farm animals and the big playground. There is a problem with the hot water. The owner fixed it on the first or second day,but two days later it was cold again. We could have called him,but we didn’t.

  • "Great stay in a lovely cottage, only recommendations will be to arrange a proper hand shower as the water flow from the current one is very weak and even though jacuzzi was nice it isn't practical when you want a quick shower."

And wifi signal was very poor and spotty. Some wifi extenders should do the trick. But overall lovely stay.

Thanks for your feedback - the two suggestions you made are great - however living in the country water pressure is not what you get in towns and villages sadly the same for wi fi - we just hope one day we will get fibre! Property Owner

Plenty of places to walk the dog. We had a small leak in the toilet and it was fixed really quickly. A great secluded location.

Thanks many apologies re the leak - these things do happen, the plumber is great turning up quickly if ever we have a problem at home or in the cottage! It’s a great location for 4 legs as well as 2 glad you enjoyed your holiday Property Owner

Caveat however that both WiFi and mobile network access are difficult/impossible - don’t count on taking work with you (surely a good thing…!).

Sadly we have to agree with you about the wi fi etc - we live in hope of getting an improved service eventually - so pleased you had a great holiday! Property Owner

Thanks - we completely agree about the broadband - sadly it’s not brilliant but it is the best we can get in rural areas,, same applies to water pressure - the joys of living in the countryside!, as you say peaceful and relaxing! Property Owner

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at stable cottage."

The facilities were good and the location was lovely. The owners were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the small gym. We have no complaints at all - it was lovely and very relaxing. A couple of helpful suggestions: - we think you should invest in a proper shower - the one provided did not work! This would save you money on bath usage. - some more cutlery would be useful - the numbers have worn off the oven so you have to guess how to use it. - there was no working corkscrew but the owners lent us one These are small issues and not complaints, but might be helpful for the future One comment for Sykes Cottages. While on our holiday we kept getting emails telling us that the cost of stable cottage had been cut dramatically for everyone visiting from now on - apart from us, of course, who were paying full price! This was rather disconcerting!

Thank you for your comments - apologies about the corkscrew we seem to through lots of them! Just so you know the shower is only a hand held over the bath - water pressure in the countryside and limited ceiling height restrct options. Property Owner

  • "Lovely stay!"

The property is beautiful, rustic and well decorated, in a stunning location, perfect for a couple in need to disconnect from the busy daily life! The fireplace gives a very cosy touch. Local villages and beaches are at a very quick driving distance. The property owner was very lovely and checked on us everyday to make sure all was going well. I have nothing negative to say, definitively recommend!!

  • "The cottage was lovely, very homely."

We enjoyed the fact that because of the time of year the other cottages were empty. Being able to walk in the surrounding fields with the dog was a real plus. The hob was somewhat annoying, it actually turned off whilst we were cooking. The washer/drier was a handy extra but be aware it takes hours over 4 with the drying mode. Despite these tiny whinges it certainly is a sweet cottage for a couple & their dog.

Thank you for your feedback - it’s good to know you enjoyed yourselves. It’s great you were able to use the fields for the dog, great exercise and fun for a pet. Property Owner

The only slight problem was the lack of figures on the cooker controls - we had to manage by guesswork.

  • "We had a really lovely stay, the owners were lovely and a stunning surprise awaited us at their sunflower maze, it was gorgeous."

Stable cottage was very comfortable but there are a few things that would have helped, Firstly, an instruction note on how to use an induction hob (I'm from the dark ages!), and all the markings on the oven dial were missing so maybe some instruction on which dial is which would help. The shower was very, very weak but the bath for me was a luxury as we don't have one at home. If you're used to power showers you will be disappointed. Personally I found the bed a little hard so a topper of some sort would have been more comfortable, but that is purely down to personal choice. Altogether we had a lovely stay although we left a day early due to very bad weather.

Glad you enjoyed your holiday - thanks for the feedback we have now included better instructions re the induction hob. Sadly we can’t do a lot about the water pressure - it’s not the same in rural locations as towns and villages. Property Owner

  • "We have just arrived back from our stay at The Stable Cottage."

Hugh & Rachel were lovely hosts, very friendly, non intrusive but were at hand if you needed them. The cottage was spacious, clean and well equipped for all our cooking needs. It was located in an ideal location for us, rural, peaceful, whilst only being a short distance from all the amenities in Cardigan. Two beautiful beaches only 4 miles in either direction, ideal for dog walking and many stunning coastal walks. If you get the chance visit Rachel's & Hugh's sunflower fields with its amazing views and sunsets. Also if you go out the door on a clear dark night you will be amazed at how many stars you will see. We will certainly be booking again.

  • "The property was quite remote and we did not use the suggested directions for arrival as they did not seem very direct."

We did use that route later but part of it (the bumpy hill) is possibly impassible for cars with low clearance. The most direct route into the farm is not part of the suggested directions, probably because the final few yards would be unsuitable for cars with low clearance. The kitchen and bathroom areas were a little tired. The cooker was difficult to use because the dial markings had worn away. The seal around the front door was partially perished which made it draughty in the strong winds experienced during much of our stay. The site was kept very tidy and there was plenty of room for children to explore.

The facilities were excellent meaning we could easily settle into our routine, work in the morning, walk in the afternoon, home for supper, and were able to make an excellent Sunday roast (chicken from the Newport butchers). Terrific meal at Llys Meddyg on my actual birthday. Will be back like a shot, as soon as schedules allow. Thank you.

  • "Stable cottage is situated in a beautiful, peaceful location."

Perfect for two people and our dog. Very comfortable, the owners extremely friendly and welcoming onto their working farm. Excellent base from which to discover the delights of the Pembrokeshire Coast path and the hills behind. All the facilities at the cottage were very good. Just a couple of observations. We really like an induction hob, but not all the pans were compatible. The jacuzzi bath was great, but the shower attachment at one end and the shower curtain at the other was difficult to manoeuvre. We would definitely visit again and would certainly recommend it. Thank you for a much needed, most enjoyable stay.

Sorry about the induction hob - you are not the only people to have a few hiccups with the hob - if you’re not used to the induction extra instructions are left for guests now. So pleased to had an enjoyable holiday. Property Owner
