  • "We had a really lovely stay."

The grounds were a great added bonus, fab play structure for kids. And nicely time for the pumpkin picking event.

  • "The are was beautiful and the facilities on site were great."

However, the walls of the downstairs bedrooms were damp, they smelt damp and carpets were damp. There were also very large beetles everywhere on ground floor. Overall the accommodation wasn’t particularly clean and everywhere had the air of being tired and requiring a little TLC (curtains missing rings, downstairs bathroom broken box under sink, window catches)

Thank you for your comments - we will investigate immediately - last week was a particularly wet week in August - and it is a stone property The heating is always available to use, shame you didn’t ask if you were unsure how to use it . So glad we have so much outdoor space and parking and could accommodate the motor home and all the additional extra friends who joined you - great that you all enjoyed the on site facilities. • "Our visit to the Granary last year was so enjoyable, we were keen to return and it didn't disappoint."

We love the large garden and play area - just right for a very active 7 year old. Hugh, our host, was always on hand for any problems and always did his best to sort out swiftly ( despite being in the middle of harvest). We had fantastic weather so trips to Mwnt beach and Poppet Sands very popular and not far to travel. We will definitely be returning again.

Thank you - it’s great to hear how much you enjoyed your holiday Property Owner

  • "The Granary is in a fantastic location to explore the north Pembrokeshire Coast."

Although the Granary is dog free, do note that the adjoining property does allow dogs which can access the communal garden and outside areas. Great if you want to holiday with friends/family who have a dog. I know every cottage does things slightly differently but do bring hand soap and towels for the bathrooms (there was soap in the kitchen). The owners live near by and can help with anything you need.

  • "Nice place and great to have the use of the playground."

There was a problem with the hot water but it was fixed promptly. The WiFi worked well. But it wasn’t that clean- I had to clean the cutlery drawer and there was a baby chew toy (chewed) in one of the utensil drawers. The bath is cracked. The electric heater in the bunk bed room- the dial comes off. No local footpaths and no pub/cafe to walk to so you’ll be using your car a lot. Other things to feedback are - Washing machine- great to have but the marker on the dial was missing so no idea on what program we had selected! Shower- the electric shower water pressure was very disappointing- not ideal after a wet cold day out! Firewood- so lovely to have the fire but the wood was damp and no access to kindling (would be happy to have paid for this) to assist lighting it. Information folder- very out of date and had info not required including a bin collection schedule from 2017! Would be good to have had some more current info on local attractions such as the Loft in Cardigan (which was great).

So pleased you enjoyed your holiday and can only apologise for.the niggles - which will be attended to. As we are on a farm the water pressure is what it is and the pub 2 miles away - the joys of the countryside. Property Owner

  • "Thank you for a lovely weekend stay at the Granary."

Very cosy accommodation, very welcome at this time of the year. A wonderful outdoor space around the Granary too, especially for children. I was very impressed with the children’s playground, both the quality and safety of the area was excellent. My granddaughter loved it. Also the children’s playhouse and Bug Hotel ensures plenty of outdoor interaction with the environment for children. Lovely patio area outside the property, which we were lucky enough to be able to use due to an upturn in the weather whilst we were there. I thoroughly recommend a stay at the Granary!

Thank you we are delighted you enjoyed your Easter stay and that you enjoyed some Pembrokeshire sunshine. Property Owner

  • "The property was nowhere near as bright and airy as the listing made it appear."

OK it's a barn conversion and perhaps we should have realised but that isn't how it is portrayed. We couldn't get enough hot water to run to enable us to fill a bath. There was a dishwasher but no tablets and it was not made clear we needed to supply these ourselves. We were requested to leave to place clean but there were no cleaning products to enable us to do this, and certainly not to the standard we would have liked. Leaving only 2 toilet rolls did seem a little mean.

Sorry you were disappointed with your stay - as you say - a barn conversion and on dull days can be a little darker upstairs - you may not realise, as we are in the Pembrokeshire national park the planning authority is strict and insists on the character and original features of such buildings being maintained, hence just traditional windows. Dishwasher tablets are in a covered dish under the sink, we could easily have supplied more, the same with the toilet rolls if either of you had asked. Property Owner

  • "The Granary is just perfect in oh!"

so many ways..... The building is delightful and the accommodation is perfect. We have had the most wonderful stay. Pembrokeshire presented us with a very diverse set of weather conditions and the location of the Granary suited all of them as the perfect Pied a Terre - we had sunshine to stroll along magnificent beaches, heavy rain to encourage us to visit the various towns in the locality (Narberth gave us a fab day of shopping) and high winds which made some parts of the Coast Path very, very exciting indeed (not for the faint-hearted, though). We will most definitely revisit at some time in the future as there is just too much to do and see for just one week and all of it is breathtakingly beautiful. Thank you.

So pleased you enjoyed your Pembrokeshire holiday and your stay the Granary it’s really cosy, with the thick stone walls etc Thank you for your feedback Property Owner

  • "Upon arriving in the house we found it very dirty, unclean and very disappointed."

We called the owner as we could not get any hot water plus mentioned that the kitchen tap had a leak, to which was never repaired. The shower waste was clogged up with hair which we had to clean as the water was not draining. Everything was dirty and dusty, the place felt and smelt of damp. Even putting the wall heaters on didn’t make it any better. A lot of light bulbs had blown and not replaced. The bedding had seen better days and it didn’t seem to bother the owners that Covid was still around as the duvets and mattress protectors looked old. The car park needed sweeping as it had sand/gravel all over which could not be avoided and transferred into the house and car. The kids loved the play area and the gym. The Granary needs a deep clean throughout-and new bedding.

Sorry you were disappointed - we did apologise about the hot water when you arrived and explained, previous guests had turned the water heater off when leaving -and we believed the tap had been fixed - it’s a shame you didn’t mention the other points when you were in holidays to allow us to address them - so Pleased you all enjoyed the additional facilities Property Owner

  • "We really enjoyed our holiday at The Granary."

The layout and facilities worked well for our group and we had enough space to fit us all in comfortably. The cottage was well equipped with pretty much everything we needed. The location was beautiful and the children absolutely loved the park and play equipment; the picture on the website didn’t show it to its best. The sunflower field was a highlight, especially in the evenings. The only downside was one part of the unmade road near the play park which was very hilly and uneven and we had to drive with a lot of care there.

Clean, thoroughly & adequately equipped (even with WiFi that kept up with the two ‘teens!) & cozy / comfortable. It had everything we needed whilst we was there. The weather was fairly mild, but the temperature did drop, so we did get to use the lovely wool burning fire! We visited all the local beaches for some long wintery walks & all main amenities within 20 minute drive. The owners were friendly & helpful & made us feel welcome. We have stayed in many cottages / holiday homes all over for New Year & The Granary was up there as one of our favourites.

  • "Lovely quiet location in a charming barn conversion with a superb family room on the second floor and a well-equipped kitchen but for a missing corkscrew/bottle opener and a rather small cafetiere."

The kids loved the play area nearby and the fact that there was a pumpkin farm right next door with lots of Halloween features. Very warm, with a highly efficient log burner, which was just right for that wet day playing board games. Perfect if you want to get away from it all and don't mind driving on single-track lanes with high banks and sharp corners. Apparently incomers always reverse for the locals, who seem very friendly.

So pleased you enjoyed - yourselves - apologies for the corkscrew being missing - we do seem to go through an awful lot of them - I think they get taken outside and then get lost - ( easily done) Property Owner

  • "Beautiful area, fantastic walking on coastal path."

Cottage very gloomy and dated, desperately needs an update - particularly the bathrooms, which were sadly a bit grubby. On the plus side, modern well equipped kitchen.

Thank you for your feedback - we have spoken to the cleaners who apologies profusely for any oversights - we only wish you had mentioned your concerns whist on holiday so we could have rectified them. Regarding the hand held shower over the bath unfortunately there is little that can be done as we are in the countryside and do not have the same water pressure that is enjoyed in towns and cities. Many of the original features still remain such as the massive exterior stone steps, the vaulted beamed ceilings and mellow stone walls, which give the property character.

Quiet country lanes lead to the barn, which is just a few minutes' drive from the Pembrokeshire coast path and excellent beaches at Newport, Poppit and Ceibwr.

The coastal town of Newport and market town of Cardigan are each a few minutes drive and offer a host of galleries, studios, shops, eateries and pubs.

Guests are welcome to enjoy the freedom of the farmland and woodland walks surrounding The Granary.

There is also a gym and you can even bring your horse on holiday - the country lanes and beaches near to this property are perfect for horse riding.

If you would like to bring your horse/s on holiday, stabling is offered at an extra charge, please ask for more details.

All guests have free access to the sunflower and pumpkin farm when they are in season.
