Helped create a super break in South Wales. Certainly will be taking up another Sykes holiday let, possibly trying to get the same chalet..

There were lots of extras such as a Nintendo Wii, DVDs, books, games and even stuff for our dog such as treats, bowls, a blanket and towel which is a nice touch.

  • "Fantastic property, very clean and well appointed with lots of thought put into the minor details."

The only observation was that the bed in the maIn bedroom was a little uncomfortable, but this didn't spoil our stay. Also, we couldn't find a pizza cutter or a spatula. But again, very minor things and we would definitely stay there again. The hamper was a lovely touch too!

  • "We travelled to Pendine in sunshine, and arrived at our holiday home still in sunshine."

Settling in was slightly difficult for us, the carpark is above and to the back of the home, but we did manage to unload our things and get them into Castleview 22. This is a very spacious van, so unlike the ones we went too in our younger days. We sat on the balcony, lifted a glass of wine and started our week in a very nice temporary home. We used the local buses, our bus pass had no value in Wales, but it would have cost more in petrol than the fare. Tenby is nearby, and we also went to Carmarthen by bus. Rain came on the last few days, but we still walked along the sands of Pendine, hand in hand, reminiscing about our holiday romance and how we met! Yes, 58 years ago, we met on holiday at Tenby, and as I am now 84 and my wife is ?, we think it might last. Thank you for a very nice stay, you have an excellent home for others to share. Other visitors commented on a hamper of goodies, but apart for the leaflets and instructions, the hamper was bare. Oh well, we brought our own wine and the gifts of chocolate and G&T from our children.

  • "The only problem with the property was that the toilets kept filling up when you flushed them,we rang the reception and spoke to a maintenance manager who would send someone round to have a look, when he did come to check the property he said there was a blockage he had not got the equipment to do the job but someone would call round in the morning."

Two maintenance guys came following morning had a look they supposedly disconnected the main pipes from toilets to the sewer pipe and said that there was no blockage, checked toilets and said they are ok but I wasn't convinced as they said it is normal for the toilets to do that which I think is a total nonsense we have stayed in other caravans on other sites and the toilets never filled up when they are flushed,I suggest you get some decent maintenance guys who actually care about providing and doing a good job, rather than ones that couldn't be bothered to find and fix problems.

  • "Provided you can manage the seventeen steep steps down from the parking area this is a really lovely caravan (its worth it)."

Everything has been thought of and everything works properly. The cupboards are not full of owners junk and are there for you to use. The layout is really good and practical. We thoroughly enjoyed our 10 night stay in September 23. We were welcomed by a nice hamper. I would very highly recommend this caravan. Onsite facilities are chargeable. Sadly wifi is dreadful. We paid £29 week and about £5.95 day for premium service and it dropped out constantly (standard wifi is free but...) so buy extra data from your own provider. The site management needs to address this with the provider as they are really letting owners and holiday makers down. The owners have no control over this at all - it is not thier fault. I would definitely return and the location is great for days out. Lovely beach with dog friendly area one side that stretches miles. About ten minutes walk. Its a little steep but there is parking at the front. The cafes and restaraunts outside of the site were all dog friendly except for the Chinese.

We were a little apprehensive to say the least. But we need not have worried, the caravan was great, the resort was fantastic (very dog friendly) and the area was superb. The caravan was spacious, well appointed, very clean and modern. Everything you need is there for an enjoyable stay. Great value for money and we would not hesitate to highly recommend both the property and the resort. We hope to be back again. Pendine beach is amazing and very dog friendly and safe, as are the local pubs and restaurants. Thank you from the 3 of us.

  • "When arrived at Castleview 22, we were pleasantly surprised with just how immaculately clean, spacious and comfortable the caravan was, especially as it was dog friendly."

The owners had thought of everything including a little hamper when we arrived which we felt was a lovely touch. Cleanliness is important to me and this caravan was spotless. Throughout our stay, we found the owners to be extremely helpful, responsive, friendly and super efficient with any queries. I have read previous reviews regarding mobile signal, this was not an issue for an all members of our party, we could always use Wi-Fi in the bedroom. Also read a review to avoid if you want quiet holiday, due to noisy neighbours next door. During the time we were there, both caravans either side were particularly quiet and new people were often leaving/arriving on changeover days, therefore, surprised to read that comment when the caravans are rented out to different people! The caravan is about a 5-7 minute walk to a lovely beach. Pendine itself was particularly quiet (early season), friendly and not rowdy. All in all we loved our stay, did not want to leave and would definitely return. Hope that others enjoy and look after the caravan, it is rare to find dog friendly accommodation so immaculate. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

  • "I had a pleasant stay at Castleview ."

The caravan was exceptionally clean and very comfortable. It was perfect for my dog and I. My only critism would be larger glasses in the kitchen. Not to say I drink a lot but even the other glasses you had to keep filling . The Wi-Fi is horrendous. I found the parkdean system didn’t work and is not secure , The owner couldn’t help and after contacting Parkdean , who did answer very quickly , I was not willing to remove my virus and vpn protection. I also had to hang off the balcony to get a phone signal so the mobile data was intermittent. It’s certainly not the fault of the owners but I would warn others, if you don’t like noise , stay somewhere else. The family from hell stayed next door and caravans are not at all soundproofed.

In a peaceful setting overlooking the caravan park with a large decking area at the front to sit and relax in the sun. Only a few minutes walk to the wonderful sandy beach. Very dog friendly, our Labrador Buddy loved running on the beach and in the sea, then coming back to the caravan and lying on the decking! The owners Mark and Natasha left a lovely welcome pack which even included treats for Buddy, which he loved. We had a wonderful week staying in 22 Castleview and will definitely return. We have been holidaying in Pendine for 16 years and stayed in some lovely caravans, but this was by far the best.

The caravan was modern, really clean, had all that we needed for our stay, from pots and pans to condiments, tea, coffee and sugar, and a lovely welcome pack including dog treats and a bottle of Prosecco! The owners were so helpful - we found that we couldn't connect to the internet, and with no mobile data at the location we wouldn't have been able to work. They came down the morning after we arrived to do everything they could to help. It was a problem for a lot of the caravans in the resort, though we managed to find a work around. We were lucky with glorious weather for most of our stay, and we'd definitely recommend staying here! We had our family of 2 adults and 2 children (ages 12 and 14) and took our little pug with us. We all had everything we needed at Castle View 22. It really was full of lovely touches. The location is great, just a few minutes walk down to the beach - with miles and miles of beautiful sand that dogs can go on. The beach runs through MOD land, so for most week days we could only walk along to a certain point on the beach until about 3.30pm when the MOD remove the no entry signs. At low tide you can literally walk out for 20 minutes before you reach the water, and at high tide you have to wade through the water to get off the beach! It's one of the most beautiful beaches we've visited. It was the perfect place to stay for our holiday.

The site was quiet which was a bonus for us. Welcome hamper was thoughtful and kind as was the welcome card. The dog was catered for with biscuits, bowls and towel. A nice touch was having some items in the kitchen such as salt, pepper, vinegar etc., washing and cleaning products. We had brought most things with us, but there is always something you forget. Kitchen equipment was new and well stocked. We wish we had known there was a coffee machine though. A wonderful holiday even with a few rainy days.

Smelt wonderful too! Fully kitted with everything you could need and want (and some things you wouldn’t think of asking for too!) It warms up very quick with the central heating, which is super easy to use and put on a timer for your stay. Bed (and pillows!) were comfy and clean and large. Shower was good enough to wash my hair (which is long, thick and curly!) The dog wasn’t just tolerated but welcomed, there were little bowls and biscuits out for him too. Make my dog happy make me happy! Great Location, beautiful Views. (One thing to consider – There is a flight of concrete steps to the property, so bear this in mind with prams / Disabilities etc.) The Caravan is the second to last row from the top of the park, so really beautiful views and still a walkable distance to the front/sea etc. Would highly recommend and will be returning!

Thank you for this lovely feedback and positive review. Thanks for highlighting the steps, the Castleview row has rear access along the back of the caravans, not obvious but enough for a pram (the perks of having such nice neighbors). We're glad you and 'Frank' had such a great stay. Hope to welcome you back soon. P.s. we appreciate how immaculate you left our caravan! :-) Property Owner

About the location

PENDINE

Tenby 15 miles.

A delightful seaside village with a seven mile stretch of sandy beach, famous in its history for car racing and speed record attempts. The fateful car ‘Babs’, the driver of which was killed in one of the many speed record attempts, was buried in the sands for many years, but has now been dug up, restored and is often in the local museum for all to admire. Even the famous Amy Johnson used these perfect flat sands to take off on one of her many record flights. Steeped in history, these sands are perfect all year round, whether sunbathing, swimming and kite flying. With local pubs and restaurants serving good food, a café, a grocery shop and gift shops, Pendine is the perfect seaside village. Pendine is also home to the recently built Land of Speeds MUseum, which can be found on Pendine Promenade; the land speed record was actually broken on Pendine's beach, too! Nearby, the attractions range from Dylan Thomas' famous boathouse, where he penned so many of his literary masterpieces, castles, more sandy beaches, hidden coves and the vibrant seaside resort of Tenby, with Caldey Island and the majestic monastery a short boat trip away. A stunning location for exploring this beautiful part of Wales.
