"We had an absolutely lovely stay at Nyth Fach."
The cottage was clean and very cosy with a gorgeous fire and lots of logs to get it going. Really close to New Quay with only a short drive to get to some lovely restaurants (the Pepper pot was lovely and if you travel a bit further to Aberaeron the Hive is delicious too). Jane and Gary were great hosts asking if we had everything we needed and let us know the northern lights were out on our first night so we didn't miss them. Would definitely stay again!

"Charming cottage and hosts in a lovely and relaxed setting."
So glad we picked Nyth Fach cottage for our stay in beautiful west Wales.

"Enjoyed our stay very much."
Very comfortable cottage and great peaceful farm setting. Proximity to some wonderful sandy beaches. All of the kitchen and bathroom fixtures and fittings were of good quality, but we did find the combination microwave and induction oven to be a bind as it needed programming each time for the differing functions. We realised from the photos that the beams were low in the bedroom but do feel a warning sign on the kitchen door would have helped us to avoid a few bumps. Overall five star.

"Nyth Fach is wonderful place to stay, it's such a lovely cottage that has been superbly restored and excellently equipped."
The surroundings are so beautiful and the animals kept by Jane and Gary are a delight. Jane and Gary are just the nicest people you could ask to meet, so friendly and super helpful. We would thoroughly recommend a stay at Nyth Fach.

"Visited Nyth Fach for our honeymoon, magical property in a beautiful destination."
It's based on a farm with a lot of character, including some alpacas! The garden is a suntrap. Beach is a 25 minute walk away. Hosts are absolutely lovely. Can't recommend enough!

"Cottage must be great in a spell of hot ."
In June after a wet spell it was cold with the flagged floors and had a pervasive smell of damp. Owner said damp patches were due to the traditional lime wash inside. Log burner needed all the time as heating on timer controlled by main house apparently and was on for minimal time at night only. We were cold all the time we were in and resorted to blankets and hot water bottles. Under floor heating in kitchen and bathroom only. Despite this lots of black mould round base of shower. Place was well appointed on kitchen and bathroom. Very low ceilings were a hazard as was the steep staircase to the small mezzanine. Suit a young couple. A long way from pubs and facilities.
Hello Sue Thank you for taking time to do a review. It is a shame you did not discuss any concerns or issues with us while you were here. We did check with you on your second day and you said everything was fine and that it was a lovely renovation. We also make it clear in the information book that if anything is not as you expect it to be to please contact us. As you know we live in the main farmhouse next to Nyth Fach and are always available and out and about tending to the wonderful gardens and our delightful animals. We have checked the property and there are no signs of damp or mould. There was some slight discolouration to the silicone sealant in the spa shower which has now been replaced. The heating -both cast iron radiators and underfloor- was on for 2 and 3 hours morning and night respectively during your stay in early June. We'd have been happy to increase the heating had you let us know . The temperature in the lounge area was 26 degrees when you left. The description of the property is totally correct on Sykes website. It is nearly 300 years old and ceilings were lower in those times. The staircase is bespoke and constructed to current British Standards- we made the decision to add a staircase rather than the traditional ladder to the crog loft. We have undertaken the restoration sympathetically and with quality fittings and furnishings which has been noted by previous guests- see other reviews. We work very hard to give all our guests a wonderful holiday in quality accommodation in a very special part of Wales. The natural beauty and peace of the location are what most guests comment on. We are saddened to receive such negative comments. Property Owner

"This was our fifth holiday booking through Sykes."
They were all great but Nyth Fach was by far the best yet. The cottage has the perfect combination of character and comfort, with all modern amenities sympathetically installed in a delightfully restored ancient farmhouse. And, uniquely, it has soul. There were too many thoughtful touches to list them all here; a few examples are lovely limited edition prints, home produced eggs, delicious cake and good quality toiletries. The owners are a lovely couple, never obtrusive but always readily available. Can't recommend too highly.

"A very lovely cottage conversion that retains the authentic ambience of the original building."
Excellent facilities in kitchen and shower / toilet room. Very helpful and attentive hosts. Comprehensive collection of local information in its own room in nearby stable building. It's surrounding space is very wildlife orientated (pools, bird hide, donkeys, alpacas in field, bird life etc). Lovely sitting out in the little well provided garden area which was alive with the spring flowers at the time of our stay.

"A beautiful cottage set in relaxing grounds, with easy access to coastal paths and beaches."
Bring wellies if it's been raining, as the coastal paths get pretty muddy!
Hi Mike, Many thanks for your lovely review. Our location just a walk away from the Wales coast path and several lovely coastal beaches is a great attraction for our guests, so thank you for mentioning this! We’re pleased you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back. Jane and Gary Property Owner

"We had a really lovely time at Nyth Fach."
Gary and Jane were so friendly and helpful, helping us locate places we wanted to go and giving great suggestions. Jane also left us a cake when we arrived, and when we told her we couldn't eat it as we're vegan, she made us a special vegan version! Which was absolutely delicious. She also left us some homemade oat milk which we really appreciated. We weren't very lucky with the weather during our stay, but still did a lovely eight mile walk along the coastal path, and on rainy days it was a pleasure to light the fire and curl up on the sofa. The cottage is bursting with character and property, and we loved visiting all the animals. The goats in particular are so sweet – really friendly and always looked like they were smiling at us!
Selene and Tom, we're so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Nyth Fach and that the special vegan cake was a hit! We take great pleasure in providing our guests with welcome goodies that are home-made, free range or locally produced. The wood-burner is very popular, especially on wet blustery days when curling up on the sofa reading a book or indulging in some Netflix or catch-up TV ticks the box. Thank you so much for your kind comments. Jane and Gary Property Owner
