Description
Dornie 13 miles.
Druidaig Lodge is a superb traditional lodge house nestled alongside the stunning Loch Duich near the Kyle of Lochalsh on the west coast of Scotland.
Designed to house large parties and family gatherings, Druidaig Lodge is the perfect destination for that special get-together.
An Edwardian sporting lodge, the house boasts a wealth of traditional features and offers ample space for entertaining, gathering and socialising.
The delightful sitting room and drawing room both offer a warm and welcoming sanctuary from the outside world with loads of snug seating areas, windows offering beautiful views over the loch and beyond and roaring log fires to really make you feel at home.
For your entertainment there is a games room with a snooker table where the young ones (and not so young ones!) can get together and enjoy a game of snooker.
Feeding your party is a pleasure not a chore in the wonderfully inviting kitchen which is suitably equipped to enable you to rustle up some delicious food before stepping into the elegant dining room which comfortably seats 12 and is the perfect spot for spending time enjoying relaxing meals and good company.
When bedtime calls, make your way to any of eight bedrooms and snuggle down for a good night’s rest.
The children will love the bunk beds and the small and cosy second-floor bedrooms whilst the remaining bedrooms should cater for any combination of guests.
When you wake up after a refreshing night’s sleep there is nowhere better to be.
Throw open the doors and let the children explore the extensive gardens while you enjoy some time alfresco with your favourite tipple while taking in the sublime loch views.
It really doesn’t get much better than that.
Getting out and about is a must when you stay at Druidaig Lodge.
You can fish on Loch Duich and there is even a private slipway where you can launch your own boat!
The region is a haven for walkers, climbers, mountain bikers and birdwatchers.
If you want to indulge in some history then you must visit the famous Eilean Donan Museum which is close by and for the hustle and bustle of a town check out Kyle of Lochalsh which has a selection of shops, bars, restaurants and places of interest.
Touring the Isle of Skye is an essential day out and it’s only a short drive from the house.
Time spent at Druidaig Lodge is time well spent.

What guests are saying
We settled very quickly into Druidaig Lodge, as it didn't feel too precious and there was space for everyone.
It happily accommodated our 13 family members, though we did have to use a top floor room, which was significantly more dated than the other floors. We felt we had stepped back in time but the quirkiness and ancestral photos and trophies gave it a genuine feel. Loved the kitchen with its AGA and the billiard room got a lot of use. Those of us brave enough to try a bath loved the ridiculous depth of water!! The property is literally beside the loch, ideal for nature enthusiasts, with stunning views and always the potential for an otter or dolphin to be spotted!
Our seventh stay in Druidaig Lodge.
Amazing location and brilliant for three families to enjoy quality time with lots of room to spread out. Bonus having the mooring bouy for our boat. Excellent all round.
The house is in a lovely location, and is full of Victorian (?
) period charm. It is very comfortable despite its age, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owner, Hamish, is very helpful and attentive to guests' enjoyment - we appreciated this very much. We did note however that the house does need some maintenance and upgrade - some of the plug sockets (bunk bed room for example) are not properly secured into the wall, constituting a safety issue, and the single shower is not really sufficient for a large party of guests. Having come to the property last year (£2584), this year (£3668), we are having significant reservations about returning next year (£4176) - the approaching 100% price increase within the span of 2 years is way ahead of inflation, and is certainly not being justified by property maintenance and upgrade. Perhaps Sykes' commission is driving these increases? If that is the case, Sykes, please note the drive for increased profits has the potential to alienate customers (!) - remember, we are now very much post-Covid, and perhaps the rush for holidays in Scotland that we saw in '21, '22 is diminishing.
