6 Knott

We had a very enjoyable stay at cottage, lovely to be a short walk from the beach and cliff walks.

It was cold out, but with provided oil radiators and lighting a fire soon warmed us up. Plenty of room in the house, we slept very well. TV and internet didn't work very well, but we didn't really need it, and it was nice to switch off. We'd stay again!

I loved this property!

We had such a cozy time here with our group of four including a beautiful kitchen and dining area with ample window light, cozy fires, and the best mattress for an amazing night sleep. The location is very peaceful and sheep visit near by. The host provided lots of recommendations and supplied us with a little milk in the fridge upon arrival. The kitchen is well stocked. The wifi was slow or not available for us during our visit, but that could have been a temporary issue and we used our data plan when needed. It felt like a familiar home right away and I would highly, highly recommend it!

This has to be one of the nicest cottages we have ever stayed at.

It's big, cosy, clean and has so many thoughtful touches, like nice thick curtains, mirrors and paintings in every room, comfy beds with electric blankets, milk in the fridge... It really feels like a home away from home. It's very easy to get to and on a quiet lane. We saw deer from the house! We loved the fire place in the evening and the sunroom for breakfast. Would definitely recommend!

This was honestly the best holiday I've ever been on.

It was everything we had imagined and so much more.We saw Deers,birds of prey ,otters,seals and so many fantastic birds.The people were so friendly and the accomodation was exactly what you need.It was well equipt ,cosy and love the little touches of harris tweed and Skye soap.We would 1000%recommend the accomodation and this beautiful,amazing breath taking island...until next time Skye,we love you xxx

We loved the property.

It was clean, had an under stated style and very comfy- the WiFi was generally good as well. The location was excellent for getting around the island- Portree, Old Mann of Storr and Quiraing were all a close car journey away. We were out most days, but it was lovely to have a wood burning stove in the evening and a well resourced kitchen to make dinner. A small,’even better if’ there were some suggested running routes - I should have planned this before I went, but ran out of time. We thoroughly recommend this property and hope to be back! Caroline’s home was exactly as described, and was great value for a family holiday.

It is very well equipped and felt like a home away from home. Caroline gave lots of information about the home, and was highly responsive to our requests. We couldn’t have asked for more, and would love to stay again!

We so enjoyed our stay at 6 Knott it was the perfect family accommodation being rural, close to the sea and so close to lovely Portree.

The property needs updating,the decoration is very drab in the lounge and snug , needs repainting, furniture needs updating, also the utensils in the kitchen need sorting out and replacing, just needs some TLC , but not to loose the character of the property, would stay again as a good base for going out and about.

It is a lovely cottage, perfectly located for the north of Skye and very peaceful.

We were very happy with it and would love to go back! We appreciated that it isn’t too pristine so that we could feel at home without worrying. It is well equipped and we didn’t want for anything.

We had a wonderful stay - the cottage was clean, quiet, very nicely decorated and equipped, and located in a lovely spot.

Caroline was very helpful when we had a problem and put our minds at rest straight away. It was a great place for a family get-together. We all enjoyed discovering the stunning scenery on Skye, as there were so many wonderful places to explore.

Superb cottage, quiet but close to Portree and many places to visit.

The cottage was incredible.

So spacious and homely. Had everything you would need. Views were incredible. Couldn't fault the property. We absolutely loved staying. It was so nice to have a welcome email on arrival.

We stayed on the Isle of Skye for a week at 6 Knott which was obsoletely idea for exploring the island.

It's located just a 15 minute drive north of Portree (the main town) making it very central and accessible to most areas of interest. The cottage is located on a very quiet lane with views over the hills and the loch. It has a secure garden which was great for the dog. It is spacious with a kitchen/ dining room, two living rooms, one with a wood burner and one with an open fire, downstairs toilet/ shower room, upstairs bathroom with bath/ shower and 3 bedrooms We used the wood burner and it made the cottage lovely and cosy. Its a great place!

I recently spent a weeks holiday at the delightful 6 Knott cottage, So late in the season we were a little apprehensive as to how comfortable the facilities would be……We need not have worried, we were both lucky with the weather and with the general amenities.

6 Knott is a very well equipped property with all needs catered for.Situated as it is, it appeals to both the adventurous rambler and the stay at home comfort seeker, of which there we’re both in our party.It’s ideally suited for travelling the length and breadth of Skye…..We had a wonderful time doing just that. I would gladly stay at the property again, and would thoroughly recommend 6 Knott to anyone contemplating a visit to the island of Skye….at whatever time of year….., the owners have it covered. Thank you all for facilitating our stay… here’s to the next time?…..Tony Conroy.

Would be nice to have more dishwashing materials (sponges, etc.

). Things that were difficult to find: linens like hand towels and trying towels in the kitchen, instructions for the dishwasher and washing machine

The cottage is a perfect holiday cottage; it is in a lovely location and extremely comfortable and well-equipped, with a very responsive and helpful owner/caretaker.

We were also delighted to find electric blankets on the beds when we found ourselves in a sudden cold spell in October.

Location is fantastic for exploring the island. 5 min walk to beach kids really enjoyed it.

The most wonderful home away from home.

Cosy, beautifully decorated, lots of space for a big family, a well-equipped kitchen, good bedrooms, books and boardgames. Just a general feeling that the owners made a huge effort to create the best possible surroundings for a good holiday. Located in a beautiful peaceful spot with lovely views and opportunities for hiking. We will be back!

We had a lovely time here, it’s a perfect base to discover the island.

Really comfy and beautiful dining area. Garden great for the dog and a lovely little walk to the beach down the lane. Lots of great tips in the visitors book.

Peaceful location where you can walk down to the coast, catch the evening sun on the benches at the front of the house or make the short trip to Portree. House has plenty of space, comfortable bedrooms and a well equipped kitchen. Iain

This was a very charming cottage.

I strongly recommend you change your expectations upon departure. It was inappropriate and a hardship to have to put all dishes/glasses etc back after running dishwasher and having to put all bedding in bags and take the recycling as well. Of the three other places we stayed they had no departure requests period! 7 people-2kids all our luggage and trying to get breakfast and out by 10 was a nightmare. You should also not schedule a groundskeeper to mow grass on a day you have guests (while we were eating breakfast!).

Perfect cottage for a family with a dog.

Cottage was well equipped and very comfortable. Location is just perfect for beautiful walks and there is a fantastic beach for wild swim. We all loved it and got very detoxing stay.

Simply perfect: practical location to visit the Island / big enough to host 6 guests / fully equipped and even beyond expectations (logs, warming blankets, books, DVDs, friendly sheep at the doorstep.

..) / beautifully decorated / attentionate hosts / easy communication. We adored it!

Such a lovely place to spend a week!

We thoroughly enjoyed the cottage in this quiet place. Yet it is still close enough to Portree for each access to shopping and restaurants (although all the places seem to be booked out all the time).

6 Knott provides a lovely based for a holiday on Skye.

It's a great location, making it easy to access all parts of Skye. The house is cosy and well furnished, and was spotlessly clean. The living space is generous and the open fires were extremely welcome in the cool evenings. Wifi reception was perfect whilst we were there. We had a wonderful stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage.

Calme, propre et très bien situé pour visiter l’île. La salle à manger est parfaite et lumineuse avec son toit vitré. Les chambres sont douillettes et les lits confortables. Le décor est chouette: les moutons pour voisins, la mer à deux pas!

This was a hugely expensive property at over £2000 a week.

Although it was nice there was not a feeling that this was a premium property. For example there was not enough toilet roll for the week for four of us and they were not new rolls which in these covid times is not right. The out side seats were very rustic one of which broke when we sat on it and there was rusty nail sticking out. When paying this much money you don't expect this. However, the beds were very comfortable and it was in a beautiful spot.

We had a fantastic time at Knot Cottage.

Located in the very tiny village of Knot this cottage is ideal for a family and for couples with all the home comforts you would expect these days including tv and wifi. A ten minutes drive from Portree and Dunvegan Castle it is perfectly located to visit the wonders of the north end of Skye. We have had fantastic communication throughout the booking especially during these difficult times we are all in. This was the perfect cottage in a beautiful location, to relax, unwind and switch off.

This Cottage was fantastic it has everything that you could Require.

It is situated perfect the explore the island. Cant wait two return. We all had a fantastic experience.

We didn't book a holiday in Skye because of the lovely weather, so we were spoiled by clear blue skies and sunshine all week.

Because of the lovely weather, we didn't really get to use the house as much as we might have otherwise, but if we had, it had everything we could have asked for. It was warm, comfortable, well-equipped, and clean and very well presented. Really we could not have asked for anything more. It is ideally located for exploring Skye. It seemed to be in the middle of the island and everywhere we wanted to visit was only ever a relatively short and picturesque drive away. A car is necessary for this holiday I think to get the most out of it as it is quite rural, but that gives you a very quiet location and off-road parking which far outweighs the need of a car for us. This is a really lovely house which we feel very lucky to have found.

The cottage was more spacious than we expected.

We had plenty of room for 6 adults and there was lots to do (good selection of games, books and DVDs). We were outside most days in the rain, so coming back to a really warm and cosy house was an important factor for us.

It was absolutely perfect.

A lovely house, all comfort and well positioned on the island to permit all our visits. We enjoyed those few days

The host was helpful and communicative throughout and moved heaven and earth to replace a broken tumble dryer for us quickly and efficiently!

The cottage itself is in a stunning location and is so homely. The beds are comfortable, towels fluffy, there is plenty of crockery and cutlery in the kitchen and the rooms are warm and cosy. The wetroom was a real bonus for our party of seven and hot water was never an issue. WiFi was fairly reliable for the remote location and there was a wealth of local info laid out for us to peruse. We parked two large vehicles easily. This was a fabulous location from which to explore the island and although blissfully quiet and peaceful it is easy to get to Portree for shopping, which was great for making up picnics for our day-long adventures in this incredible place.

An absolutely stunning place to stay in!

It has a pleasing blend of traditional scruffiness and charm blended with modern features and facilities. The local walks are delightful. located within easy reach of shops at Portree and ideally located for exploring the north of Skye. Highly recommended.

Amazing place with everything one could need.

The charm and the details of the cottage were lovely and we have enjoyed every moment we have spent there. Furthermore the cottage has the perfect location to explore the island.

The peace and tranquility on waking up and the view from the garden to the beach was so welcoming and a delight.

The house had plenty of room to house us all and still give us privacy when needed. The island is exquisite! And the locals were very friendly and helpful, was very sad to leave . We had a little issue with the plumbing with the downstairs wet room, but was sorted the same day after a phone call to Sykescottages . We would definitely recommend this to others for a thoroughly enjoyable relaxing break

The cottage was spacious and well equipped for a fantastic family holiday week.

The kitchen/conservatory dining space was wonderful for gathering at breakfast and evening meals...in fact we spent most of every evening around the table in the conservatory eating, drinking & playing games along with other family who visited from a nearby cottage (11 of us!) The lounges were comfortable and very cozy with log fires burning. And we LOVED the showers...amazing water pressure!

Very impressed with the accommodations.

Had a hard time getting my in laws out of the house since they enjoyed it so much. Fully equipped kitchen so we were able to prepare most of our meals.

Really nice cottage, homely with touches of modernity such as Rayburn or Electric stove, glass ceiling dining room and downstairs power shower, two lounges one with open hearth one with stove.

All looked after by friendly crofters and their family.

We had an amazing time.

The cottage is lovely and located perfectly for adventures on Isle of Skye. We will definitely look at returning and will recommend to others.

6 Knott is in the perfect location for us with views of the loch, beautiful scenery all around and within easy reach by car of the shops at Portree.

The house has really comfy beds and was very well equipped. The wet room had an amazing shower, whlch we all loved. It was also very dog friendly - tiled from the back door across the kitchen with plenty of room to clean up damp dog paws. The house always had plenty of hot water for 5 of us. We had an amazing holiday at 6 Knott - our only regret was having to come home. The best holiday home we have ever stayed in. We will be back.

Nice and cosy house, suitable for max 7 persons. Small room had a bed with too soft mattress. Equipment fine, we missed garden chairs and a decent coffeemachine.

Beautiful house within a stunning location.

Beach only a brief walk down the road and breathtaking views across to Uig. Collecting fresh mussels from the beach whilst the dog played in the sea and all the time being watched by the curious seals was a daily delight! The house was warm, cosy and well equipped and the Rayburn for heating and cooking proved to be a draw for all concerned. Would definitely recommend.
