Rockpool

Very comfortable house with incredible outlook onto the bay and causeway to Eriskay.

Electric cooker could be better and some of the doors didn’t close properly and the bathroom/ en-suite doors didn’t lock. Jacuzzi bath didn’t work. Other than that the house is fantastic and we had a great time there. Would definitely go back.

We had an excellent week at Rockpool.

The house has all one needs for a relaxing break and it has a wonderful view. It is in a quiet area of South Uist and has easy access to walks along a quiet road, down to the sea and up to hills. Altogether excellent, highly recommended and re-visits are planned.

By far the best accommodation we have ever stayed in.

The views are even better than the pictures and everything in the house was to a great standard, high quality bedding, heating and appliances meant that our stay was thoroughly enjoyable. The host asked us to reach out if we needed anything and was friendly and helping without being intrusive. Highly recommended, thank you for a fantastic week!

Weather was variable but didn’t spoil the week - views from the house are simply stunning and colours of the sea change every hour. Our stay at this beautiful holiday home on South Uist was nothing short of amazing.

The house offered so much space for our group, with every comfort and facility we could possibly need. It was clear that a lot of thought has gone into making guests feel welcome and relaxed. The location couldn’t have been better - peaceful, scenic, and with incredible views across the islands. Watching the sunrise from the property each morning was a real treat and something we’ll never forget. It’s the perfect place to appreciate the beauty and tranquillity of the Outer Hebrides. The owner was a pleasure to deal with - friendly, responsive, and genuinely keen to make sure everything was just right for us. His attention to detail really stood out and made our stay even more enjoyable. We had such a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this holiday home to anyone visiting South Uist. We’re already dreaming about our next visit!

Lovely cottage, very comfortable and clean.

We loved the goodies left in the welcome pack - especially the smoked salmon! A great quality property and the views across to Eriskay are fabulous.

Beautiful property in a gorgeous location - huge windows overlooking the Sound of Eriskay, perfect for storm watching, eagle spotting or just watching the Eriskay ponies grazing just outside.

The house was cosy and warm, with the bonus of a log burner and a generous supply of logs. The owners were very helpful and left a welcome hamper of Hebridean goodies. Immaculately clean and well furnished accomodation with everything needed for a great stay

Fabulous views, and very private ( no-one in the cottage next door, but even if there was we wouldn't have known) Well equipped, warm, comfortable. Two pubs within 2 miles. 3 generations staying and we each had a lovely comfortable bedroom and our own bathroom. Thank you for an excellent holiday.

The location and view deserves more than 5/5.

If the weather is bad it doesnt matter as you can stay indoors and enjoy the views. Lovely to see the Eriskay ponies coming to the garden. Beds were very comfortable and kitchen well stocked. Host was at hand if needed. We forgot to take binoculars (would be a nice touch if there was a set in the house) which was disappointing as so much wildlife to see. Whilst there are bins at the end of the road for recycling it would be good to have separate recycling in the house also. We were unlucky with the weather, however had a lovely relaxing week regardless because the house was great

Rockpool was absolutely lovely, very comfortable, clean and well maintained.

It was an excellent base for a wonderful family holiday. Stunning views out to Eriskay; we saw the owls hunting close by, and had a few visits from some of the friendly Eriskay ponies. Didn’t spot any otters but I’m sure they were around somewhere! (We also saw a lot of dolphins on a fabulous boat trip with Uist Sea Tours so we felt quite spoilt for wildlife). We were lucky with the weather but on rainier days the cottage is a warm and comfortable place to stay and well stocked with books and games. It felt very private and screened from the neighbouring cottage. Mìle taing, Michael and Margaret-Ann!

Fantastic cottage with amazing views over to Eriskay and the adjacent islands.

We loved just sitting in the lounge looking out of the picture windows at the views that were constantly changing with the different lighting and saw short eared owls and golden eagles flying nearby as well as being visited by the local wild white horses. We stayed as two couples and all agreed that both the cottage and the views were the best we’d ever stayed in. The cottage is well laid out, very comfortable and well equipped and is just as good if not better than the photos on the website. Easy access to the Politician pub over In Eriskay, along with the well stocked local shop there and the nearby co-op in Daliburgh. Breakfasts at the Kilbride cafe were also great and lots of lovely walks and beaches close by made for an excellent holiday.

We had a fabulous stay at Rockpool, Rockpool is set in an idyllic spot with outstanding views & minutes walk to a beautiful beach.

The house has a real home from home feel & has everything you need. We were a party of 4 with dogs & carnt recommend this this property highly enough for a holiday to South Uist

We appreciated the owner waiting to greet us when we arrived at Rockpool and the generous basket of local produce that was left for us.

The setting is stunning, with uninterrupted views to Eriksay and the house itself is to a very high specification. Beds and sofas very comfortable and house really well equipped. We enjoyed the ponies coming to visit most mornings and walking on the beach at low tide was lovely. Thoroughly recommend.

The Uists are a dream destination and I couldn't recommend anywhere higher than staying here.

We had a wonderful time staying at Rockpool on South Uist, it has the most amazing setting with views across the water, Eriskay causeway and looking across to the Isle of Eriskay.

The house is immaculate and well kitted out. The layout work really well too. Thoroughly recommend this cottage and hope to return one day.

This property is absolutely amazing!

If you want peace and quiet with fabulous views and beaches, this is the place. The house was spotlessly clean and there was nothing you would want for. The owners are very welcoming and the dog was very safe and settled. We would definitely love to go back, thank you.

Fabulous house, fabulous view!

Everything you could ever want in a holiday home is catered for. Beds are super comfy and showers are nice and powerful. The view from the house is however the star of the show, breathtakingly beautiful, whatever the weather.

What a fantastic house and a warm welcome and later also goodbye by the owner, Margareth-ann.

The house is well equiped in all. Outside the beautiful deck is very good with outstanding views. Also to be seen inside. The beds are vey comfortable and the shower hot with power. A very good point is the extra tv in the smaller bedroom. We have certainly plans to come again.

Just perfect, we are regular visitors to the Western Isles and Rockpool is the best, highly recommend.

Had a lovely stay, very relaxing and the most beautiful view. We saw a short eared owl at dusk.

We have rented some fabulous properties but from the moment we entered Rockpool we were blown away by the view, absolutely terrific.

It never failed to evoke relaxation every time we walked in. We saw loads of seabirds, short eared owl, eagles soaring over the back, ponies, sheep, gannets diving and saw Rhum and Eigg. We will never forget Rockpool and hope to stay again. Also enjoyed day trip to Barra.

Rockpool is an amazing cottage, the views are stunning and mesmerising.

Such a great location as well for getting across to Barra and Eriskay. The cottage had everything you could need we had a fantastic stay. Great for the dogs too.

Great weeks holiday at Rockpool.

Lovely well equipped house with fabulous views across to Eriskay. Comfortable beds, powerful showers with plenty of hot water. Loved having a wood burner with logs supplied. We were lucky to see White tailed Eagles and Otters. Enjoyed a great day out wildlife spotting with Stephen at western-isles-wildlife.co.uk , the shop across the causeway is very good . Excellent food and a warm welcome at the AM Politician, Scallops the size of golf balls! Already planning next years holiday with LHH.
