  • "Beautiful property in a great village location."

Lots of downstairs space - we took 2 large dogs who were well catered for, and welcomed. Loads of great walking from the doorstep too. Humans had a lovely welcome pack too (bread, milk, biscuits and wine!)

The cottage is very well kept with all the amenities you could wish for, from dog bed's and bowls to shower gel and shampoo! Amazing. The cleanliness of the whole cottage was second to none and over all has to be one of the best places we have stayed in. The dogs werw able to go outside as the garden is secure and could sit at night with us in the lounge. The local walks are beautiful and very scenic. If you go further afield you won't be disappointed either as there is so much to visit and see. The cottage and location are well worth a visit and you won't be disappointed.

We absolutely loved the cottage & instantly felt at home. The welcome pack was fab which also included treats for our Dog. The cottage was spacious & had everything we needed. The beds & pillows were very comfortable & the enclosed garden was a lovely area. It was particularly lovely sitting on the lounge window seat with the sun beating through the window. We would highly recommend this cottage & really hope to return in the future. Thanks Abby for your help.

  • "Lovely cottage, spacey and looks great."

Several nice welcoming bits inside when we arrived. Very disappointed at end when we were told they wanted to charge us more for some basic housecleaning, this spoilt our memories of the holiday and caused stress as this had been an expensive cottage for us, especially wanting us to pay more for some dog hair as the cottage was promoted as very dog friendly. Before this the only complaint was the uncomfortable sofa/ chairs in the living room. On the plus lots of nice walks to do from cottage and lovely enclosed garden for us and the dogs.

We pride ourselves in giving our guests and their pets a fantastic holiday in a clean and tidy cottage and unfortunately the cleaning and hygiene issues meant we had to pay our cleaners for the additional hours needed to bring the cottage back to our standard. We did agree to waive the additional fee. Property Owner

Welcome pack was a lovely extra touch. Owners were on hand immediately with a maintaine issue we had. Sorted straight away. Husbands 6ft 5 so kept banging his head on the low doorways. Obviously can't be helped . Not enough setting in living room. Maybe a L shaped sofa would be better.

  • "Overall, a really great stay."

Would highly recommend. There was everything we needed and more. The welcome basket was a great touch and some goodies for the dog wasn't expected, they thought of everything. The house was bright and airey and generally comfortable, although we didn't sleep too well on the really soft beds with giant pillows, we know this is our taste and personal preference so doesn't impact my score or view at all, but I'd suggest if you prefer flatter pillows to take your own. An L-shaped sofa would work really well and just give that extra comfort and intimacy for small families. But out 2 year old daughter and 9 year old dog enjoyed themselves thoroughly. Will tell friends! Thank you.

Comfy beds, and a put up bed In the dining room was great for a friend who struggles with the stairs, would love to see a corner sofa for 4, as only 3 comfy seats, and maybe a nest of tables, would definitely visit again.

One of the best welcome packs we have received !! We were very new to this area and found the countryside very pleasant and interesting and everyone seemed to be very friendly. Our dogs loved the nearby park and we loved the enclosed garden. A slight hic-cup with the heating was resolved quickly by Aby. The rating is 9 as the parking is not ideal but we had no real problems. We hope to re-visit which says it all.

The cottage is extremely dog friendly and the enclosed garden so beneficial. It's very well equipped, both for dogs and their servants. Great, central location for visiting nearby towns and villages, as well as attractions and places of interest. Demesne Mill picnic area- a gateway to several scenic walks, is just around the corner, so taking the car out for dog walks is not essential. Abby was very helpful and responsive to messages and we really appreciated the welcome basket of foodstuff and drinks. We would and will certainly stay here again when visiting family in the North East.

So grateful that we were given such a lovely cosy holiday home that would allow our 4 dogs. Abby was only a text away providing any advice / recommendations needed throughout our stay. The cottage was soooo well equipped and was lovely and clean. The only issue we had was a lot of places nearby were either closed or weren’t serving food as it was out of season, so if you were to go at this time of year I would suggest properly researching places to visit / eat before hand. Very ideal dog walking field situated at the end of the street, and long walks mapped out through the “AllTrails” app that literally begin when you step out of the gate. We would definitely stay here again and are glad to know we have a holiday in mind for our pooches in the future :)
