Lovely cottage, very clean and well equipped, treats were a lovely touch.

Loved the hot tub but cover needs replacing as difficult to put back on after use as not attached to bar. Superking sized bed was a bonus but high in middle so not as comfy as it could have been. Location very central to visit villages and tourist attractions. Local pub very handy and friendly owners, ate there several times. Bedale a few miles away has a few pubs, nice gift shops and several good takeaways.

Cottage was very cosy and welcome pack was a nice bonus which you don’t usually get with tea, sugar, milk, bread etc all coming in very handy!

Gets chilly of a night and for some reason we couldn’t get the thermostat to go above 21 degrees (there is a wood burner but never used it) cottage is very clean throughout. The area around the cottage is made up of about 4 different cottages all very much on top of each other but with their own ‘semi private gardens’ our neighbours were very noisy in the mornings waking us up at 7/8am playing music and talking loudly in the garden (understand people are on holiday but there should still be some level of respect for your neighbours) The hot tub was a welcome sight after a days exploring however only 1 side of the jets worked (we only used it on last night so didn’t bother contacting the owner to fix it) The kitchen and bathroom are very nice all mod cons however if you are a tall person watch your head in the shower!! Very low ceiling. main bedroom has a huge king size bed although I found it uncomfortable and lumpy, my partner was fine. Parking on the ‘drive’ is very awkward for 2 cars especially if 1 is parked in the middle of it like when we turned up but you can park on the village green in places. Literally only an esso garage and a pub in the village, the pub is very much an old man’s pub with not much to choose from food and beverage wise, you’ll find better further afield aswell as shops just down the road. We recommend visiting Whitby and goathland (the set of heartbeat series) both were a long drive but very beautiful. Overall our stay was nice and very homely at the cottage just slightly let down by a few small things I’ve listed above.

We had a lovely stay at King's cottage.

Very clean on first look but was quite a few cobwebs around all the windows. The hot tub was lovely but we could only seem to get half of it bubbling at once and also wasn't very private as there was a low wall which anyone from the other cottages could walk past. The location was fantastic, close to Northallerton and just an hour from Whitby but the parking needs to be explained better. It was on a VERY sharp corner of a busy road and very awkward to get in and out. The space is really not made for 2 cars for 2 cottages. We had a really lovely breakfast in the north end cafe in Bedale. Highly recommended for a breakfast and only a couple of miles down the road.
