"Excellent location"

"We stayed at the snug for a week, but it just wasn't long enough."
We travelled by train so bonus that the station wss minutes from the cottage. You can jump on a train and visit various places, skipton, settle, Saltaire to name a few. We meet the owners on the day of arrival and they were so welcoming and accommodating. As everyone has said before the cottage is lovely and cosy and Andrea had thought of everything you could possibly need, a lovely thoughtful welcome pack was awaitinlg us too. Facilities are excellent and theres a small courtyard with comfy table and chairs (cushions provided) and we even made use of the barbecue. The area is so quite and very relaxing. There are 2 pubs a short walk from the cottage, although we didn't get chance to visit. We enjoyed some walks from the cottage, although we didn't get chance to walk down by the river to skipton, which would have been nice. Having stayed at many Sykes properties we have awarded this top slot, we just loved everything about the cottage and area. Really hope we get the chance to go back. Thank you Andrea and Richard for a wonderful stay.

"A fantastic weeks holiday at The Snug everything you could possibly wish for."
We had wonderful weather and many hours in The Snug garden reading and relaxing in the sun. Many wonderful walks including walking along the canal to Skipton. Practically perfect in every way!
-
"Very steep staircase this should be flagged up for older holiday makers."
Everything else was very good
Many thanks for your feedback which is much appreciated. We have taken your thoughts regarding the stairs onboard, and are currently in the process of updating the property description to reflect this. Thank you again for raising this concern and we're delighted you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

"A wonderful cottage situated in a beautiful and friendly village."
The cottage was well equipped and comfortable with the addition of very thoughtful goodies to welcome us. A great base to explore a lovely part of Yorkshire. Would love to return.
-
"The Snug was welcoming and comfortable place to stay."
Amenities were excellent . We really enjoyed having the record player . Overall a cosey place to stay . Highly recommended.
-
"Excellent accommodation in an ideal location for visiting the Yorkshire Dales and the surrounding countryside and towns and villages."
The hosts left a generous welcome pack and lovely flowers, which was much appreciated. The Snug is in the very pleasant and friendly village Cononley, which has two good pubs and a well stocked shop, in addition to good transport links. I highly recommend The Snug and would love to stay again when visiting this part of Yorkshire.

"Had a lovely week at The Snug."
All was as described and there were extras I noticed such as hairdryer and fan which we didn't use but would be helpful. The cottage was clean and comfy with little extras of tea, coffee, sugar, milk, cake and prosecco.Everything we needed was provided, linen, washing machine and dishwasher plus a great selection of games and info(can I suggest some of the brochures and timetables are updated). WiFi great and helped with planning our trips. The village has 2 pubs, but not always offering food at this time of year. The village shop was useful as was the train station. Trains run regularly to Skipton. A well positioned cottage with a little bit of luxury, what more do you need? Well, we couldn't control the weather but we walked all the same and having the sauna to return to was a bonus. Snug by name and snuggly by nature, thank you.
Many thanks for your valuable feedback which is much appreciated and also, for mentioning the updating of visitor/tourist information. We're now in the process of refreshing the information to assist future guests. We're absolutely delighted you enjoyed your time at The Snug and hope to welcome you back in the future! Thank you again. Property Owner

"We had a great stay at this lovely warm cozy cottage."
The village of Cononley is a great place with 2 pubs and a village shop and the cottage is a 5 minute walk to the train station with links to Skipton,Leeds and Settle.
-
"Lovely cottage with great facilities."
There is everything you need to have a very enjoyable holiday. The biscuits, milk and a bottle of fizz left by the owners made a great start to our stay. The Sauna was really nice especially after a long walk. The village is very friendly and historically fascinating. Loved looking at the juxtaposition of old and new. The harmony was brilliant. Supported by two pubs, a village shop and excellent transport options, overall we would highly recommend staying at the Snug.
-
"Beautiful House n Village area."
Great place to be and tour around Yorkshire Dales too. We loved everything about the ‘Snug’ and so comfortable, the owners left everything you need + more treats. “A right good rest n relaxing visit “. 10/10.

-
"An absolutely lovely cottage, worthy of its 5 ticks and more."
It was a delight to stay somewhere that is so clearly cared for by its owners, who were very generous in their welcome pack of goodies and beautiful flowers. Definitely one to recommend.

Again Sykes lives up to their excellent service every cottage we have booked over the last 10 years have been first class would highly recommend them the snug was beautiful lovely part of the country lovely cottage the owners had lots of homely touches
-
"Very comfortable cottage with everything you could possibly need for a home from home holiday."
The sauna was a plus and the parking space was a bonus. We appreciated the welcome goodies and the kind attention of the owners who live nearby.
-
"The cottage is homely and well thought out with everything you could need for short/long stays, close to a couple of pubs who offer food."
Lovely village with loads of walks. Close to Skipton if you like a good market.
-
"Reluctant to let the secret out of the bag about The Snug- it might get too busy!"
☺️ Fabulous cottage, very comfortable and in a great village location. Let the train take the strain to explore the Dales, and plenty of walks locally too. This was our 2nd trip, and we will probably return again.
-
"Lovely cottage had everything you could need for a comfortable stay ."
Andrea even came round and dropped off a Fan as the weather was so hot which was a lovely surprise. Plenty of walks around the area nice walk along the river to Skipton and back along the canel . Nice food at the Rail way inn village shop handy . Had a lovely start will probably book again .

"Wife and I had a superb week at ‘the Snug’ so much so even the sun put in an appearance!"
There’s everything you could need for a very comfortable stay the cottage is easy to find with no parking issues, the neighbours are very nice (they even put the recycling bin out for us) and a great source of local knowledge. The outside seating area is a perfect place to sit and enjoy the sun of an evening with the option of a barbecue all of which we thoroughly enjoyed. The following are personal observations; * at home we sleep in almost pitch black thanks to blackout blinds so we had to buy sleep masks to block out the light, perhaps thicker curtains or blinds may address this but again simply personal preferences. * again at home we have Wi-Fi speeds approaching 260Mbps and as we both have devices I had to have my phone as a ‘hotspot’ in order to utilise the 8.14Mbps Wi-Fi in the Snug. Now we’ve been to Cononley before, and we will be back in the future, so we’re aware of the issues in the area concerning internet connectivity but it’s just something we’re not used to. Would we visit the Snug again, hell yes it’s a no-brainier we’ll definitely be back at some point in the near future.
Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback which we welcome. We are pleased to confirm we now provide guests with an option to enjoy a darker bedroom if they prefer, and the village broadband has been upgraded to fibre for a speedier 60+Mbps service at the cottage. We're delighted you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you back in the future. Kindest regards Property Owner

"We loved our stay in this beautiful cottage."
The owners anticipated, and met, guests’ every need. There was a generous welcome pack which we appreciated (there’s nothing worse than arriving at a holiday cottage and not having milk to make tea!) The village is lovely, with two pubs and a shop. We enjoyed exploring the village, visiting the church and an art fair. For a longer walk, there’s a nearby canal and river. Proximity to the station is a real plus, we got the train to Saltaire and were lucky to see a Hockney exhibition.
-
"This was our second stay at The Snug, and a very special one as it was our Honeymoon!"
We loved this place first time around and enjoyed it even more on our second visit. Everything is so clean, tidy and cosy. We love the location and the amenities that are close by. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!
-
"Once again a flawless visit!"
Thank you Andrea. Your attention to detail and cleanliness is first class. We sleep so well there which is really appreciated and feel very relaxed when we sadly leave.
-
"This is a really great holiday property with everything that you need."
It is easy to find situated in a village that is very friendly. It is very clean and the owners provided a welcome pack that was greatly appreciated. The property is very tastefully decorated and it has a king-size bed which is very comfortable. We have been visiting the Dales for over 25 years and this is one of the best we stayed in.
-
"Beautiful quaint cottage with everything you needed in a lovely quiet village."
Felt very welcome from when we arrived with a home made cake, biscuits, crisp, a bottle of cava and some flowers. The cottage is lovely and we enjoyed the sauna too. An enclosed back patio area is nice for dogs too.
-
"Absolutely beautiful little cottage, very tastefully decorated."
We had a lovely, relaxed stay at The Snug.
-
"Absolutely fabulous."
Full of extras making your stay feel welcome and special
-
"The Snug is an apt name; warm and comfortable."
The owners provided a brilliant starter pack; tea, coffee, sugar, milk; delicious home made cake, fizz etc and more than enough wood to get a good fire going for the evening. Alternative pillows and duvet were not needed by us but illustrates the level of thought for comfort the owners have given to this gem of a cottage.
-
"Wonderful cottage, everything you could want and more"
-
"Another excellent stay."
Its so great to walk through the door into such a warm, clean home from home. The welcome pack is superb and Andrea has added extras which we really appreciated. Spent the week visiting not only family but places like Harrogate and Grassington. Taking the train into Skipton is so stress free and Annie our Golden Retriever has conquered the art of hopping on and off and chatting to the train guards! Looking forward to booking again.
-
"We absolutely loved our stay at the Snug."
It was so comfortable, welcoming and everything we were looking for to escape the pressures of city life. Not only that but the locals in the village were so welcoming recommending walks and places to eat. The Saturday night Halloween quiz in the New Inn will be remembered for ever.
-
"Excellent welcome to wonderful cottage will definitely be back"
-
"A really lovely cottage in a great little village."
2 nice pubs and a handy train station so you can explore and leave the car at home.
-
"Excellent facilities - owners had thought of everything."
Lovely village. Highly recommended.
-
"The most beautiful cottage in an idyllic village."
Thank you for all the special touches. We feel replenished and relaxed - everything a holiday should be - perfect.

"The snug has been renovated to a high standard and is a lovely place to stay it has all you need and is ideally located"
-
"Cannot fault our stay in the Snug."
Really enjoyed it.
-
"The Snug what a find."
Absolutely lovely little cottage very well kitted out in all ways. Arrived later than expected and greeted with lovely message from owners, fizz and milk in fridge , crisps, biscuits and delicious ginger cake. Bed very comfortable, lovely shower didn’t use the sauna but looked great. Had a fantastic week for my 75th birthday my son living nearby. Was due to stay last September but due to a bereavement had to reschedule at last minute owners were very understanding.
-
"Excellent clean and welcoming property."
It's a very old house and the owners have renovated it into a very comfortable place with a fully fitted kitchen, a lovely bathroom with a great shower and his and hers sinks plus a sauna. We thoroughly enjoyed our week visiting the local area and taking the train to Skipton. The train service in Cononley is exceptional and we only wish we had the same where we live. It is worth pointing out that the stairs in the cottage are quite steep so may present difficulty for people with mobility issues. Apart from that we'd have no hesitation in recommending The Snug as a great place to stay.
-
"The snug is a well maintained property and more."
Cannot fault the property in anyway. The little extras the owners leave for you and your pet on arrival are much appreciated. There is a train station 5 mins walk away which will take you into the heart of the Yorkshire Dales if you don't won't to drive but some places you need the car. I would recommend this property fabulous stay and well worth every penny.
-
"The Snug is a beautiful place to stay: every aspect of every room has been carefully thought about and is both attractive and comfortable, with a kitchen that is well equipped and a joy to use."
We loved staying there and have no hesitation in recommending it.
-
"Three years after first booking we arrived at The Snug."
( thanks covid!) The Snug was spotless, with flowers and fizz waiting…along with some lovely ginger cake. Location could not be bettered. Shop and two pubs well within a five minute walk, as was the station. We made fourteen rail journeys…so convenient, fast, clean and cheap, and visited some great places. However, Salt Mill at Saltaire was the star, along with Haworth, Skipton and Ilkley. A great relaxing and interesting holiday in excellent accommodation. Heartily recommend.
-
"We had to cut our stay at the cottage because if a urgent family matter and we needed to get home soonest."
This means a quick review, just based on our few days there. Village and location great. We met a couple of locals and they gave us great advice on walks and we did get a couple in! Litton is a great find for walks. Skipton.....Coopers for brekkie/coffee/lunch....what a fantastic find. We found the local Farm Shop....Keelham. Nice produce, good place to eat too, recommend brekkie again! A little pricey for the produce....have seen better. If going to Haworth...dont go on a Monday or Wednesday. .it seems closed! The Bronte museum is definitely not open on those days. Cottage very nice. It has a free standing bath like we have at home, so I could still have a nice long soak and after a couple of long walks, it was needed. We thought that the Information Basket left by Andrea was very informative. We had booked the steam railway but had to go home , so wasn't able to experience it but Iooked like it would be worth the £48 paid.
-
"A wonderful stay made all the more special thanks to the thoughtful touches provided at The Snug."
Couldn’t have asked for better accommodation for us and our dogs.
-
"A fabulous cottage, really well equipped, spacious, beautifully decorated and furnished with everything you could need."
I particularly appreciated the fire and the gorgeous throws in the cold February weather. Comfy bed, lovely bathroom with a big bath and powerful modern shower. The enclosed yard was useful for feeding and letting out the dog. The village is quiet but friendly and I used the village shop a few times. All in all, one of the best cottages I've stayed at.
-
"We had an excellent five nights at The Snug at the beginning of February 2022."
It was a very welcoming place to come back to each evening after days out walking in the dales. The facilities are first class so we were really comfortable, with the sauna allowing us to relax away any aches and pains of walking in wintertime. It’s location is good, being near local amenities and just a short drive from many enjoyable places to visit. We walked into Skipton one day and caught the train back due to the frequent service. Our dog Phoebe was made welcome at The Snug and at many other places in the area, which was a real bonus. Meeting Andrea, the owner in the local pub was a pleasure. She was really welcoming and friendly. All in all a great few days in a comfortable and convenient location. We would recommend The Snug to anyone who wants to visit the Skipton area.
-
"The Snug is a lovely cottage, beautifully furnished and decorated with a lot of attention to detail."
We loved the little touches such as the potted violas by the door, the welcome pack (flowers, cake, milk, biscuits and dog treats) and a personally written card from the owner. The property was immaculately clean and regarding the kitchen, the owners had thought of everything their guests may need. I loved the framed Stephen Hawkins quotation in the beautiful bathroom and the log burner and vinyl record player was appreciated; also the very comfortable bed. The owner was particularly understanding as a few days before our visit, my husband's illness meant it was touch and go whether we would be able to stay. The owner was very understanding and compassionate. We would definitely recommend The Snug to everyone!
-
"A fabulous stay in The Snug."
The cottage is in a lovely village with walks from the doorway. The cottage is very comfortable with everything you need included. A lovely welcome pack with home made cake included. I would definitely recommend staying here, the owner even provided a drinking bowl and treats for our dog. It’s the personal touches that make this cottage feel like home.
-
"The Snug ticks all the boxes for a relaxing weekend away."
I ended up not unpacking everything as this cottage has everything you need. Grateful for the cake, biscuits and fizz with milk in the fridge on arrival and the log burner ready to light. We made full use of the cottage facilities with a gorgous deep bath and sauna. Our days were spent out and about at Skipton woods, Malham Cove and Haworth with glorious weather for January. Our evenings were spent by the log burner with a film or book, drinking fizz. We were only once unable to park outside the cottage but there is a small free car park further down that we were able to use. We returned home very chilled. Can highly recommend.
-
"Perfect property for 2."
Very comfortable and well looked after. Really enjoyed our stay and can very easily recommend without fear of disappointment.
-
"Extremely comfortable."
-
"What a lovely place."
We had an issue with the key safe when we arrived and called the owners who said they would be right round, although they didn't need to because as soon as we put the phone down, it opened. Nice living space, lovely fire, comfortable armchair and settee. Enough wood for three fires (well, we used it for three fires). Quirky sauna and a lovely bathroom. We wanted to take the pillows home with us as we haven't slept that comfortably in a long time. Have an Alexa who was constantly asked about the weather. Left cake and fizz on arrival and some provisions, including milk. Not sure what to do with the milk bottles so we left them (although I should have asked at the shop....sorry!) Cannot recommend enough!
-
"This is a cottage that keeps on giving and everything is as described and looks in the photos from the high quality bed linen to the starter pack prepped inside the wood burner, so you just have to light it when you arrive."
Welcome fizz and home-baked cakes were very welcome Suggestion: come ready prepared with food for your first evening as there is nothing local that is open / serves food. Tesco superstore however is only 12 minutes away in Skipton Would we stay again? Absolutely but want to try the Yorkshire moors next visit so hope we are as lucky as we were with this cottage Can't recommend The Snug highly enough
-
"Fabulous stay at The Snug."
Everywhere was spotless. The little touches provided by the owner were a joy. Eric & Jane
-
"Excellent communication about the cottage before, during and after the holiday."
Lovely clean and well appointed cottage in a lovely friendly village.
-
"Set in the attractive village of Cononley The Snug is a beautiful and well equipped cottage, perfect for our weekend break on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales."
The village boasts 2 great pubs (alas neither serving food at the time of our visit) a village shop, train station with the surrounding area a walkers paradise. The cottage itself stands in the centre of the village with 'off road' parking and neighbours who are on hand with a warm Yorkshire welcome and helpful advice on where to go and what to do. Upon arrival you are met with a spotlessly clean, cosy, warm, delightfully furnished cottage and a substantial 'welcome pack' provided by the owners. We didn't use the sauna and I personally found the bed a bit uncomfortable (hence the reduced comfort rating) but overall we couldn't fault this property and will certainly be looking to book another weekend away early 2022. Would certainly recommend.
-
"Beautiful cottage in a lovely little village."
The cottage was immaculate and felt very clean. I personally think it looked even better in the flesh! The sauna was a lovely addition and we used the record player most days. Andrea left us a lovely starter pack and a beautiful homemade ginger cake, which is was so tasty! The cottage is very convenient as the village store is only a short walk away and provides most of what you need. If not, hop in the car for 10 minutes and there is a large Tesco in Skipton. There are footpaths right outside the front door, which are perfect if you’re bringing the dog. We found it perfect to get out and explore. We visited Malham Cove, Janet’s Foss, Goredale Scar, Malham Tarn, Settle, Victoria’s Cave, Druids Temple, Pateley Bridge and more. Nothing was ever too far away! We would definitely stay again.
-
"The cottage was really lovely."
Clean, cosy and perfect for the 2 of us plus our dog. We loved the location, the facilities and the little thoughtful touches like cake and fizz for us plus dog treats for our pup. All in all, perfect!
-
"Cononley is a lovely village, everyone we met was friendly (and dog friendly)."
Village shop was very good and lady running it really helpful with advice on places to visit/walk/eat with a young dog in tow. 2 village pubs looked good but due to Covid not serving food so we didn't use, but plenty of other options nearby. Cottage was excellent, as described and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, so much, we are certain we will be back in future years. We never used the sauna, next time maybe! So easy to take a walk out of village in any direction and there is a train station which could whisk you away to Skipton or other way towards Leeds if you didn't fancy the driving.
-
"Lovely cotage in a lovely village."
Very comfotable cottage with everything thought out, well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and relaxing sauna. We had a very relaxing stay and for several days, left the car at the cottge. Local walks kept us amused, and the local station was a bonus to get to Skipton with no hassle. Highly recommended.
-
"Disappointed with the outside space."
It needed a little TLC to bring it up to expectations. Lovely little village . Nice touches by the owner leaving fizz in the fridge with milk and chocolate biscuits. Flowers were lovely too. The cottage was one of the best we have used by Sykes everything inside was perfect. Thankyou.
Thank you for your valued feedback. We are pleased to confirm that the terrace provides a secluded, private space and a secure area for visiting dogs. Taking our guests comments on board and to enhance the appearance of the fenced area we plan to introduce some additional planting to update this pleasant area which we provide to sit and enjoy. -
"Great cottage with everything you could need and extras like bubbly, flowers and chocolate."
2 pubs within 3 minutes walk and a village store . People in village so friendly and helpful and it’s a perfect base to visit all local beauty spots . Will be back.
-
"The Snug was very well appointed with everything you could wish for and the sauna was a bonus!"
It was a luxury bathroom and very nice kitchen . Location was excellent - marvellous base for the area . There’s a train from the village to skipton every 15 mins and only takes 7 mins . The Leeds/ Liverpool canal runs opposite the village so you can walk miles along there - so pretty . The village store has all the essentials . So friendly everywhere we went . We will be back !!
-
"This was our third visit to this area and our third cottage."
If we go again we will book this cottage as it was the best of all.
-
"The Snug is a real Gem in the Yorkshire Dales!"
The cottage is equipped with everything you could need to have a relaxing holiday. The cottage was very clean on arrival and had clear instructions in place about how to stay safe during our visit to the cottage. The cottage has a beautiful decor with quirky nods to its past. The sauna is a fantastic bonus as is the huge stand alone bath! We were also left some delicious treats and beautiful flowers by Andrea the owner. Thank you for such a brilliant holiday.
-
"Beautiful property in a wonderful location."
Owners couldn’t do enough to make my stay very special.
-
"Cononley is a great village to stay in, you can walk straight from the door onto hills or Into valley."
There’s a lovely village shop and 2 pubs, one serving reasonably priced meals (Oct 20). Trains to Skipton (and Settle-Carlisle line) or Leeds/Bradford. The Snug has everything you need, thoughtfully equipped, fresh and pristine. Unique view of a mountain from the bathroom!
-
"From the moment we arrived we were bowled over by the beautiful setting and the comfort of the cottage."
It was so clean, cosy and had everything we wanted. The coffee machine was dreamy! The sauna!? Amazing!! The place to self care
-
"Very clean and comfortable house, beautiful village."
We walked to canel path the Skipton from the house and another walk over the hills to the next village. We didn't try any of the pubs in the village but they looked nice. Very relaxing evenings spent with home cooked meals, wine, log burner and music (we took our own selection of records). Shower was very powerful and the bath relaxing. Enjoyed hearing the children's excited cries as they arrived for school in what must have been the first time for months! Only downside for us was our car was too long to park in front of the house so we had to play musical parking spaces with the neighbours, who obviously didn't appreciate our parking although totally legal and we had our wing mirror broken from the pavement side. Hacked us off but certainly didn't spoil our holiday.
-
"The cottage itself is beautiful very well equiped and comfortable and the ..."
The cottage itself is beautiful very well equiped and comfortable and the village is lovely very friendly people and the pubs are nice too would highly recommendthis accomodation we had a lovely relaxing break
-
"Loved this cottage and would definitely visit again."
Really cosy, well equipped and modern. Great base for many walks.
-
"The Snug is amazing."
Immaculate and very comfortable with everything you need. Little touches like a welcome bottle of fizz and fresh flowers we’re just lovely. The village is beautiful and a great place to explore from. The New Inn is on the doorstep and a great local pub. Very friendly and we’re made very welcome with the locals. Would recommend Grassington, Skipton (5 mins by train from village) and Kettlewell for days out and walks. Also enjoyed some great walks from the village. Highly recommend
-
"Just the most beautiful and well present holiday cottage."
So comfy and snug as the name suggested and a great location for the local pubs and shop so no need to go far. However, it is also the perfect base to go off and explore too so it really had the best of both worlds! We are definitely planning to visit again.
-
"What a fantastic place to stay."
Everything you needed for a delightful break. A lovely, clean, quiet and friendly village. Excellent location for some lovely walks with the dog. Highly recommend.
-
"Just wonderful."
..booked for June already!
-
"Fantastic well equipped cottage, all you could need for a home from home experience."
Thank you
-
"The Snug is superb!"
From the moment you park right outside the front door and enter into the warm welcoming cottage it relaxes you. Every detail has been thought of and we can't wait to return.
-
"The snug is an amazing place."
So clean all you could wish for. The sauna was used daily the lovely free standing bath was a joy too. You won't be dissappointend with your stay at the snug. The owner kindly left cake and milk looked scrummy but we are both vegan so couldn't eat. The bottle of carva was vegan and my husband enjoyed the drink thank you. What we found good for us was the train station in close proximity we used several times which was novel for our dog Lacey. We did need our wellingtons every day but still had a marvellous time. The owners should be proud of their snug in cononly.
-
"We stayed in the Snug last year (2018) and enjoyed it so much we signed up for two weeks this fall."
Great location - and when the pubs re-open and the news agent opens again it’ll be perfection.
-
"The snug was fantastic it had everything we needed, a very modern kitchen with new appliances,a fantastic sauna and a very comfortable bed and a modern bathroom with a fantastic shower."
The nice treats that were left for us ( namely scones with butter and jam and a chilled bottle of cava ) this was drunk and eaten on the private patio at the rear in the glorious sunshine. The rail links to anywhere from cononley station was perfect. Cononley is a much expanding village with plenty of new builds blending in with the old, it also has a large campsite for tents and tourers. However on the downside the amenities are very disappointing. The village boasts 2 pubs serving meals, one is closed under offer the other( New inn)is open but only seems to serve meals at certain times in the summer season when it pleases them. The village shop was closed and locked up as was the chinese take away both allegedly under new ownership. If we were to return to cononley we would look to see if the amenities had improved.
Thank you for your feedback, we are glad you enjoyed the property and the scones!. We are glad to say that the shop is reopening in October. We do leave takeaway menus in the property that do deliver and we also provide details of local restaurants. Property Owner
-
"The cottage was absolutely great -it had everything you needed."
. The quality of the bed and bedding were very good and the bathroom having a bath and separate shower was again of a very high standard.. we didn’t get to use the sauna but a great addition.. Would definitely recommend and hope to return there again..,
-
"Extremely comfortable holiday cottage with all ‘mod cons’."
Perfect retreat in good or bad weather. Kitchen very well equipped with everything you would need. Great bathroom too.

This cottage was amazing and had everything we needed The village was lacking a shop and the two pubs did not do any food But that wasn’t any to do with this lovely cottage
-
"Excellent property that could not be faulted."
The owners have done a great job of decorating and fitting out the place. Really enjoyed it, couldn't be faulted!
-
"The snug is a lovely cottage with many added extras ."
We arrived and had a bottle of cava and fresh cakes baked. We had use of a record player , sauna and open fire all over and above what we are used to daily . The cottage has been renovated to a high standard with views of the village . A pub near by and train station with in walking distance . Plenty of walks and a good place to be based for trips further a field . Skipton is close by and easy to reach .
-
"Absolutely fabulous cottage in a stunning location."
-
"Lovely cottage."
Facilities are excellent and it is a very dog friendly area. We will definitely return.
-
"The Snug was perfect!"
From the moment we parked right outside and entered into the warm cottage we relaxed!! The owners have thought of everything and have such good taste. The bathroom was luxury, the bed was as comfy as ours at home, the kitchen as clean as if it had been newly fitted, the sitting room with the log burner and record player, sheer heaven! On arrival we sat down with a cuppa, the gorgeous cakes provided, listened to Simon and Garfunckel and couldn't believe that we had found such a haven. We will come back ....just hoping we can get booked in!!
-
"Best and most comfortable cottage that we have stayed in, every little detail to make the most of your holiday has been thought of."
-
"An absolutely amazing cottage."
Everything you could possibly need was there. The welcome cava, cake and doggy treats and towel were a lovely touch. We cannot recommend The Snug enough and we will definitely like to return!
-
"The Snug is absolutely gorgeous and a perfect place to stay to explore the Yorkshire Dales."
It is super comfy and all the little touches left by the host make it really special. We have never stayed somewhere as clean - it was positivly sparkling when we walked in the door. No negative feedback to give - all in all a great place to stay!

The kitchen is very well equipped maybe the best we have stayed in in 20 + years.

"Very clean comfortable accommodation."
The owners have put a lot of thought into the comfort of their guests leaving treats for canine visitors and fresh baked scones and chilled Cava. Connonley is a nice peaceful village with lovely views, two pubs, a shop and Chinese takeaway. The Metro was a bonus.

"We have booked many cottages with Sykes and have always found them to be excellent but The Snug was even better than that - truly fantastic- the accommodation all the extra care and attention to detail, even special treats for the dog were really appreciated."
The village amenities, location - everything was perfect. We never stay in the same cottage twice but this will be the exception and we hope to return again and again.

The attractive village of Cononley lies in Airedale, four miles south of Skipton. The village's 17th Century heritage is still visible in some of the buildings, with an even greater number remaining from the villages heyday as a 19th Century centre for hand loom weaving and lead mining. There are two pubs and a mainline railway station with links to Leeds, Skipton and the famous Settle to Carlisle Railway line. Nearby Skipton, known as "The Gateway to the Dales", has an ancient castle, a beautiful old parish church and a colourful market occupying the cobbled setts each side of the high street. Enjoy a canal trip on a traditional barge or visit Embsay Steam Railway or the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway.
