Unfortunately, our experience at this property was very disappointing.
The overall cleanliness was far below an acceptable standard. The floors, bin, tea towels, blanket, oven, shower, mirrors and extractor fan were all dirty, and the property had a musty smell as soon as we walked in. We ended up spending around an hour cleaning everything ourselves before we felt comfortable enough to settle in, which is not something you expect when paying for accommodation. The comfort of the furniture was equally disappointing. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep, and the sofa was just as bad. We only stayed here for a couple of days while attending a concert in the area, but the poor cleanliness and lack of comfort really impacted our stay. With a much higher standard of cleaning and better-quality furniture, this property could be much more enjoyable, but unfortunately we wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

g. no welcome pack of milk, tea, coffee & basics, doorknobs which fall off, dirty oven and grill pan, poor quality bed linen, no instructions for equipment and facilities like heating & recycling, totally inadequate wood supply for stove (and no kindling or matches) Deffinitely below usual Sykes standards Helpful neighbours were a bonus
We liked the location of this cottage.
We did feel that the bed and sofa were not very comfortable. We enjoyed the log fire and it was warm and cosy as it was cold weather whilst we were staying.
