  • "Owl Cottage is very quirky/quaint, adequate enough for us, 3 adults, but we think 5 people would be pushing it."

The landlady Julie was very kind and helpful, so overall we enjoyed our holiday. The two bungalow dwelling octogenarians managed the steep staircase once a day, so having a downstairs lavatory was helpful to them! Overall a nice holiday let well hidden away, fooled the Sat Nav, a kindly local dustbin man guided us to it!

Guests are more than welcome to remove the cabinet between the beds and push the beds closer together to give more floor space. Or, if you ask me prior to your stay I will quite happily do this for you Property Owner

  • "Our family really enjoyed our short break at Owl Cottage."

Julie was a great host and the accomodation itself was fantastic. Our kids and dog loved the huge patch of lawn. The cottage is perfectly situated so it is far enough away from everything to give us the rural and peaceful getaway we were after but close enough to smaller villages and bigger towns to go do a few fun things.

Thank you for your lovely comments. I'm glad you enjoyed the tranquility of our rural retreat Property Owner

The house was beautifully kept and extremely clean when we arrived. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The location is very tranquil and only a short distance from Overstrand and Mundesley beach. It also has a large garden for children to have a good play in. All in all, a great place for a family holiday.

Julie, the property manager, lives next door and was very welcoming and suggested a few places for us to go. Really lovely stay, weather was on our side! But can’t fault the cottage or location for what we wanted. Lovely big garden for the dog and surrounded by fields with some great sunsets!

Set in beautifully tranquil setting. All you hear is Skylarks and lots of other birds. My idea of heaven. Thank you Julie for our lovely holiday From Janet, Paul, Mouse and Tig the dog x

Thank you all for staying. The skylarks are still singing, the sun is shining and the yellowing corn in the fields is gently blowing in the warm breeze. Thank you for visiting. • "When we arrived we were greeted in a friendly manner and shown the basics of the house."

It is a solid and cosy building well presented and well equipped.. You have to remember it was February when we went but we were never cold. The central heating works well and there was always plenty of hot water. My only criticism would be that the double bed could have been wider and the furniture in the conservatory was a little on the small side too. It is well situated and only a couple of miles to the sea side. Apart from that I would rate this property very highly.

Thank you Peter for your feedback. When I renovated the property it was my plan to put a king size bed in but upon measuring the room it would limit the access around the bed. Sykes stipulate that on a double bed you must be able to access at either side.so a larger bed wouldn’t work in the space I take on board your comment about the conservatory furniture, I originally bought it so it could be used indoors or outdoors Property Owner

  • "Really lovely property on a farm."

Well equipped kitchen and we liked the owl theme. Powerful shower. Convenient location for driving to Cromer and other nearby coastal towns/villages. Julie was friendly and easy to get hold of. The only downside for us was soft mattresses but this is a personal preference.

I have invested in some decent memory foam mattress toppers so hopefully this will solve the problem Thank you for visiting Property Owner

  • "We had a brilliant stay at Owl Cottage."

It is very secluded, peaceful, comfortable, beautifully decorated and clean. Chickens occasionally wandering around the farmyard give a lovely feel as well and there were swallows nesting in the barn. It’s lovely to have so much space on the farmyard and garden to play, and it’s nice to wander into the fields for a walk. The cottage itself is great, all newly refurbished and has two new bathrooms - the showers are fab! The owner is very friendly and helpful - nothing is too much trouble. We would love to stay again - thank you!

The property

Approached by main and then country roads, this gorgeous old Victorian semi-detached cottage, Owl Cottage, sits in a quiet corner on the edge of the village of Southrepps in Norfolk and overlooking the surrounding fields.

Perfect for a family or friends sharing, this recently completely renovated cottage is within easy reach of the village centre and the beach, while enjoying the peace and privacy of a countryside location on a working farm.

Enter through the conservatory, which houses furniture suitable in any weather; enjoy a cup of tea in the light and airy space or take the furniture outdoors to soak up some sun.

From here, the kitchen is well-fitted with sage cupboards, an electric oven, and a hob so you can cook up a storm, while the dining room is also a great space to linger in, with an electric fire to keep you warm while you tuck into your feast.

Completing the ground floor is the sitting room, styled with stag wallpaper and contemporary furnishings, and a handy shower room so there’s plenty of space to freshen up in.

Upstairs, the first bedroom is a well-presented double room, and the second bedroom is a pleasant triple room containing three single beds, perfect for the children to share; rest your heads after a busy day of exploring, before waking up and getting ready for another adventurous day in the family bathroom.

Outside, the enclosed garden makes this property ideal for pet owners, with a wall and dining area so your four-legged friends can stretch their legs through the day while you admire the countryside.

Set in the Norfolk countryside, just a few miles inland from the coast, the cottage is ideally positioned for discovering the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Reachable by car is the historic city of Norwich, known for its cathedral, the Norwich Castle Museum and Gardens, and the regular market.

Why not make your way to the seaside towns of Cromer or North Walsham, for a day of playing in the sand and savouring traditional fish and chips and ice cream?

If the charm of market towns excites you, Sheringham and the gorgeous village of Overstrand, plus many other attractions and market towns lie close by, and make a lovely day of shopping, eating and drinking.

Owl Cottage is a characterful cottage you can enjoy any time of year.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £300.
