The Quiraing

Directions

1. Begin at the car park at the summit of the minor road linking Staffin and Uig. From here follow the north side of the road with a footpath sign to Flodigarry. 
2. Follow the clear path along the steep slopes. You will encounter a slight scramble over a gully before ascending further towards the gap between the main cliffs of the Quiraing and the Prison (please note that the Prison should only be attempted by expert scramblers). 
3. Continue along the main path across the slope, soon passing under a dramatic overhang. Carry on around the corner before passing over a stile. 
4. Upon reaching a fork in the path, take the route on the left to climb over a saddle and through a drystone wall. 
5. Follow the path, ascending to the ridge on your left and passing through a stile.  
6. After the stile, turn left to make your way along the edge of the escarpment.  
7. Reach the highest section of the cliff edge to be rewarded with phenomenal views.  
8. Continue the path as it begins to descend, making your way across a grassy slope until you reach a gate in a fence. Pass through the gate and follow the route, bearing left at the bottom to return to your starting point.
