Directions

  • From Station Lane the route will take you through the gate which is positioned opposite the station building. This will join the old railway.
  • Once you have met the road bridge, head under and climb onto the lane via the steps to turn left down the lane to venture towards the sea.
  • Here, you will find a small parking area and a waymarked path. Head down the steps towards Cloughton Wyke, and turn left onto the Cleveland Way.
  • Enter the woodland at the National Trust sign and follow the rock-stepped path downhill. Descend the steps on the right, following them through the woods before turning right at the waymarked junction and descend to the waterfall and shore.
  • After admiring the waterfall, return to the path and keep straight up the hill and through the woods.
  • As you leave the woods, cross the field via the farm track before you walk past Hayburn Wyke Inn.
  • Continue up the road and make a left turn through the gate to re-join the railway and return to Cloughton station.
