Osmotherley and Mount Grace

A delightful, 3-mile circular walk taking you through the handsome village of Osmotherley, creating a superb opportunity to soak up the history to the village’s rich history. The path will follow thorugh fields and a woodland setting before reaching the ruins of Mount Grace Priory.

From here, you will return to Osmotherley along the Cleveland Way National Trail to enjoy the sweeping views over Bilsdale, Teesside and the Pennines.

Directions

At the market cross and stone table, follow the road which will take you towards Thirsk. From here, make a right turn at the ‘Public Footpath/Play Area’ sign and pass through the gate.
Head right and go past Siddle Farm. Go through the gate and carry on straight ahead.
Cross the stile and turn left to walk down the field before you turn right.
Here, you will find the remains of Mount Grace Priory. Retrace your steps back towards Siddle Farm, but instead continue straight ahead by passing through a metal gate.
Cross the field and go through the gate which is located in front of the farm house. Walk through the farm yard and make a left turning at the barn.
Take a right turn and walk along the track signposted the ‘Cleveland Way’.
Turn left up the track to visit the The Lady Chapel before turning right on the road into Osmotherley.
