The Blyth Battery is a World War One coastal artillery battery that was modified and refitted to be used in World War Two.

It is the best-preserved coastal defence battery on the North East and Yorkshire coastline. Despite its age, Blyth Battery retains all of the distinctive features associated with a “Defended Port Battery”.
In addition to guarding the Titania, it was also responsible for preventing German High Seas Fleet landings and engaging motor torpedo boats at the time of its completion.
Visit Blyth Battery on Saturdays and Sundays between 11 am and 4 pm. There are guided tours available around all the buildings, lasting about 45 minutes.
