Dolgoch Falls
If you are visiting the Snowdonia National Park, a visit to Dolgoch Falls is a must!
The Dolgoch Falls are a series of three waterfalls near Tywyn in Gwynedd, in the South-Western part of the Snowdonia National Park.
Thunderous roars of the waterfalls can be heard in the wooded gorge, which sits along the River Fathew. This remote and rugged spot is definitely worth a visit before heading to the lovely cafe by the waterfall’s car park, which serves up delicious food!
Dolgoch Falls Walk
To enjoy the series of three waterfalls, take to the popular circular walk that is well signposted. This one-mile loop is fairly easy and should not pose any problems for anyone with reasonable mobility.
Begin the Dolgoch Falls walk from the Dolgoch Falls Hotel on the B4405 (free parking), before passing under the railway viaduct that serves the Talyllyn narrow-gauge steam railway. Soon after, you reach the Lower Falls (Rhaeadr Isaf), where the viewing platform allows you to truly soak up the scenery.
The path then leads along the river before coming to a set of stone steps leading to the next two waterfalls. At Upper Falls, you will find a lovely picnic area, where you can admire the soundtrack of the nearby waterfall.
