Dolwyddelan Castle
The Welsh stronghold of the Welsh Prince, Llywelyn the Great was built between 1210 and 1240, located deep in the Snowdonia National Park.

After his day, the castle became under the command of Llywelyn ap Gruffudd. Dolwyddelan Castle was finally conquered by the English King Edward I, which marked the start of his relentless campaign to crush Wales.
The English King went on to refortify Dolwyddelan Castle and add another rectangular tower. Today, the once towering castle is now a romantic ruin, that is popular with landscape artists. Come here to explore the architectural ruins and the handiwork of the Welsh Prince.
