Princes Street, Edinburgh
Princes Street is amongst Edinburgh’s notable areas, featuring listed buildings, shops and historic landmarks. Despite being the city’s busiest road, it offers access to the scenic Princes Street Gardens on one side.
The street houses a wealth of architecture dating back to different periods, from the 18th century to the 21st. Number 95 is a noteworthy building as it is the only surviving Georgian townhouse on the boulevard! It’s now home to Hector Russell’s kilt shop, where you can buy traditional highland clothing.
Princes Street also boasts a wealth of high street stores, so you can enjoy an outing filled with retail therapy! After shopping, why not wander down to the gardens and take in those views of Edinburgh Castle and Ross Fountain?
Further along the street lies Johnnie Walker Princes Street; a fantastic place for whisky tasting or a night out! If you’d rather soak up the local history, the Scott Monument and Scottish National Gallery rest nearby.
