Our Hathersage Travel Guide includes… Places to stay, things to do and how to get to Hathersage
Hathersage lies to the north of the River Derwent at the eastern end of the Hope Valley in the Peak District. Packed full of history and character, the town also has strong literary connections; Charlotte Bronte was inspired to write Jane Eyre after visiting the area. There are also strong links to Robin Hood, with Little John’s grave one of the most popular local attractions.
It’s also a prevalent location with walkers and climbers, with a great selection of trails and hills to explore, including Higgar Tor and Stanage Edge, which featured in the film adaptation of Pride and Prejudice and offers spectacular views across the Dark Peak moorlands.
For something a little different, enjoy a splash in the huge outdoor swimming pool, which is warmed to a toasty 24 degrees during the winter months.
