Stainburn Forest
You can find the delightful Stainburn Forest on the western edges of Harrogate. The stunning woodland is divided into two halves and is home to plenty to do.
Upon arrival, you’ll find two car parks, with the Norwood Edge Car Park sitting close to short and challenging trails. The Stainburn Moor Car Park rests near winding trails which offer peaceful strolls.
The three biking trails in Stainburn Forest are all challening but rewarding! The first is the Red Route which comprises a 1.25-mile loop with views of the Washburn Valley.
The Descent Line is an extension of the Red Route and offers a quick descent to the bottom of the forest’s hill. Take care with the steep downhill ride!
The Warren Boulder trail is the longest of the routes, at 1.9 miles. The trail comprises a narrow track with varied terrain, from steep climbs to descents. Expert bikers are best-suited for this route!
Aside from the mountain biking opportunities, Stainburn Forest is great for dog walking! On these walks you can spot a range of wildlife, from red kites to deer.
