Crantock Beach
Crantock Beach is a golden stretch of sand sitting at the mouth of the Gannel estuary, an area once busy with sailing ships carrying supplies.
These days the estuary is a haven for wildlife and Piper’s Hole at the southern end of the beach is particularly well known as a sanctuary for seabirds. The beach sits against a backdrop of sand dunes with the grasslands of Rushy Green behind them.
Surf lessons are available at Crantock from the Big Green Surf School and a lifeguard is on duty during high season. Toilet facilities are in use year-round, and refreshments are on offer at Cargo Coffee, so visitors can stay for the day.
Crantock Beach is a great Cornish spot…
