Nant-y-Ffrith
Nant-y-Ffrith stretches along the border between Wrexham County Borough and Flintshire. It features a wealth of gorgeous, outdoor sights, from a trickling stream to conifer trees.
One for birdwatchers, Nant-y-Ffrith is packed with charming birds, including redstarts and wood warblers. If you visit during the evening, you might be able to hear the birdsong of nightingales, too.
The area dates back to pre-Roman/Celtic times, and nowadays it makes for a lovely spot for a walk and picnic. During a wander through the valley, be sure to look out for the Nant-y-Ffrith Waterfall.
It shouldn’t be hard to miss as it’s the largest cascade in the Wrexham/Flintshire area!
You can access to the bottom of the falls via a small trail from the south side. Please take care here as the path is steep and slippery.
Alternatively, venture along the stream to Nant-y-Ffrith Reservoir. This small reservoir is another wonderful spot for an alfresco lunch, with views of the surrounding hills.
Enjoy a gorgeous, outdoor excursion at Nant-y-Ffrith…
